Our favorite vacation home yet!

Beautiful location! See the dunes out of the giant wall of windows in the living area. Short walk to the beach. Large living and dining area perfect for our family of 6! Would rent again.

Great family rental!

This is a great and affordable ocean front home! The great room/family room is just breathtaking with the huge windows and comfortable furniture. The fixtures and decor could use some updating but it was clean and comfortable. The beach was so close and convenient. There is also an ice cream store, a breakfast shop, and a restaurant at the end of the street-2 minute walk. We had a great vacation!

Nice property. You can hear the waves from the deck.

We enjoyed our stay. It was wonderful. There needs to be some updating for sure in the master bedroom from the lamp to the mini blind that was broken our whole stay and no one came to fix it, so we had to sleep all week with the blind up and no curtain. Other than that it was a nice place to stay. Just the basics. No frills.

beachy and beautiful!

Beautiful place to visit. Very nice house. We wish the deck would have been a little taller. But still beautiful! I did do some cleaning when I first got to it. It was dirty along the walls and under furniture. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean. The Outer Banks is a beautiful place to visit! Dolphin Realty staff was very nice and acomadating!

Great location needs cleaning

The location is the best part of this house and the large living room. However, while staying here the ramp to the beach rotted and you cannot walk on the deck without shoes (splinters and nails). The queen mattress had many stains, the hallway shower was clogged and filled with water, the living room TV did not work, all the chairs on the deck were broken and most of the windows leaked. Could be an amazing house but needs some deep cleaning.

location was fantastic, however master bathroom was small. my shower in my camper was bigger ,the bathtub in the other bathroom had a stopped up drain .the deck had many loose boards that you could trip on. it really need some tlc

All about the beach

This property listing is very accurate. The main living space of the house is lovely with lots of natural light. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very basic, which was fine by us! We don't need luxury at the beach, just a place to wash off the sand. :) The kitchen was stocked with the basics as well, though we didn't do any cooking. As others have noted, and as you can tell from the pictures, you can just see slivers of the ocean from the deck because of the dunes. The path to the beach is short and this was the primary benefit of the location. Although being a short walk from the ice cream shop and the breakfast/coffee shop turned out to be almost as important! The beach here was lovely and uncrowded, and the ocean very swimmable. It was a perfect week at the beach for our family.

Wonderful house on the beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay at Chez Toni. The living room is totally awesome! Airy, bright, huge, immense windows facing he ocean and dunes. The pictures don't really do it justice. Its wow factor is off the charts. Easiest access to the beach, with private path right off the deck. Bedrooms and baths - very good. Great water pressure. Kitchen stocked well - great set of skillets and pans, a little short on cups (as in "there's only one cup, so if you are coffee/tea driner, beware"), but overall serves you more than adequately. Be careful with outdoor shower - the floor boards are somewhat disintegrated and there's plenty of splinters and nails to attack your feet, so wear crocs or flip-flops while in there. Multiple dinner/lunch/breakfast options in walking distance so even under COVID-19 regime you won't go hungry if cooking is not your thing. Would definitely stay there again.

Cottage at Avon

Location is awesome! The Ocean and beach were great! We enjoyed our stay, but I will say that it is not a place to stay if one has elderly, children under five, or handicapped (such as bad knees, or worse) individuals in the party of vacationers - the stairs up to the cottage is a challenge, the free swinging glass storm door is dangerous (it swings out to top of stairs at the entrance, with the potential of knocking someone down the flight of stairs), the walk to the beach is a challenge (again, for elderly or bad knees)in heat, and the entirety of the cottage is unsafe (old, heavy glass lamps on rickety lamp tables, couple areas are fall hazards for toddlers, & uncovered outlets throughout, loose nails on entrance steps/boardwalk) for toddlers. It was a job to bring/carry all my personal sheets, towels, paper goods, and toilet paper, and haul up the stairs, and to have to vacuum/clean before leaving. ....With all that said, I will say that I reported the safety issues, and a few dirty areas to the realty company in charge. Lastly, I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN, as it is a great area, cottage, etc. for me! I just want to give a heads up to anyone who has toddlers, elderly, and/or handicap members in their party.

The dunes in Avon are a little bit of a walk for sure, make sure you do your research prior to booking as far as to how long the dunes are. Some areas are not as long. Great introduction to the OBX

We thought this home on Avon was the perfect spot for our family; just a short walk over the Dunes to the ocean and a not too busy beach. We walked to the Avon Fishing Pier, souvenir, coffee and ice cream shops and restaurants. The area and beach felt safe and it was very clean. There is a mix of rentals and homeowners in the immediate neighborhood. We were pleasantly surprised that the cottage seemed larger and more open than the online photos. The kitchen, bedrooms and baths were fine. The carpet in one of the bedrooms had a strong odor that we reported to the management company, we were unable to use the bedroom during our stay. There is an outdoor shower and hose to wash off the sand after a day at the beach. Also under the house, are two small charcoal grills, a clothes line for wet towels/suits and a bin where previous guests had left boogie boards and sand toys to use. We were able to enjoy the deck the entire trip, there was always a breeze and it was shaded in the afternoon. We expected beach access from the deck, but the opening has been removed. The public beach access is next to the house, up and down a few steps. The beach wagon we rented was not able to be used. We rented our linens/towels from Moneyworth. We rented beach items from Island Cycles and Ocean Atlantic Rentals. We were happy with everything and would recommend them.

Amazing location!

The great room is beautiful with vaulted ceilings and a gorgeous view of the grassy dunes and a sliver of ocean, the deck is lovely to sit out and have your coffee on. The kitchen is spacious. It’s definitely a well loved family home, no frills, but it’s all you need for a fun filled family getaway. The walk to the beach is short and the beach is pristine. You may want to bring little extras to make it feel like home.

1ST VISIT TO OBX

Hard to locate property if arriving after dark. We spent approx 45 mins locating the house once we were on Beachcomber We called for assistance x3 with no response. finally found house by going up every drive on the street. If older with bad knees (like us) the stairs are killer. Elevator would be nice or at least a dumbwaiter for the luggage and other items. needed.

Anniversary Week

We had an enjoyable stay. Location was great. It is a cute little cottage that is perfect for 1 or 2 couples or for 1 family. Disappointed in the Cleanliness of the floors, which wasn’t great and air vents were all dirty. There were no deck chairs to sit outside. Notified the agent about the items and they are going to fix. Overall though we really enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future.

Location is perfect

Property location is great! Cleanliness-ehh….we had to vacuum when we arrived because it is up to previous guest to vacuum and I’m not sure they did, or maybe the vacuum bag just needs to be replaced. Kitchen was well stocked, and the location is killer. The bedrooms are small but we didn’t spend a lot of time in there so it was fine with us. Something that resembled black mold was all in window frames in den area which was a tad concerning but I just doubled up on Zyrtec. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Beautiful wide beaches in Avon

The house was very comfortable and perfectly located with our own path out to the beautiful wide beach of Avon. The windows in the front room are perfect for viewing the dunes and sky with a small sliver of ocean visible. There were a few restaurants and ice cream in walking distance across the street. Although the houses in this area are very close together, this neighborhood was pretty quiet and everyone was very polite. We had a wonderful week.

Very nice home, really enjoyed it, very clean. Owners are were very nice and checkin was very easy. It does need some repairs and updates as we had one major issue. But overall nice place.
