Welcome to our stunning 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home – a modern haven designed for style, comfort, and impeccable furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen caters to all your culinary needs, ensuring delightful meals for family and friends.

This beach house is more than a rental; it's our family home, embodying our continental minimalist aesthetic. Revel in the clean, modern decor with tastefully incorporated contemporary design classics.

Discover comfort on the first living level with three bedrooms featuring queen beds and a shared bathroom. Ascend to the second level, where a well-appointed kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining area, and a living room await.

* Please note that the indoor staircase is a spiral staircase, which may not be ideal for young children or those with mobility issues.

Our location is conveniently within a short walking distance (1000 feet) from the public beach access walkway, and just a stone's throw away from the Froggy Dog restaurant. In addition, we are just a short stroll from coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and more. For water sports enthusiasts, a boat launch is conveniently located just 50 yards away! Just a few feet from the house, a long sidewalk extends from one end of Avon to the other, leading to restaurants and additional shops

Enjoy breathtaking sunset views of the sound from the furnished decks, or take advantage of our amenities, including high-speed internet, a large flatscreen TV with a DVD player, and a curated collection of games and books.

Additionally, enjoy the convenience of FREE WIFI, a coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a washer/dryer.

Bed sheets and bath towels are included with your stay. Please bring separate beach towels.

We provide a starter pack with one roll of paper towels, two trash bags, a couple of laundry pods, a couple of dishwasher pods, one roll of toilet paper per bathroom.

A couple of old bikes, beach chairs, beach toys, and a kayak are available for our guests to use.

The property features a charcoal grill in the backyard.

For your convenience, a key code will be provided to access the house.

Please note that this is a smoke-free property, and smoking is strictly prohibited. We also regret to inform you that pets are not allowed.

Kindly be advised that the jet streams in the upstairs bathtub are currently not functioning. We appreciate your understanding.

Loved our stay here! The kitchen is well equipped, and we loved the layout. The reverse plan allows for beautiful views and the open layout is perfect for hanging with family while cooking. Will definitely stay here again when in Avon!

Clean and a short walk to the beach.

Property was clean, spacious and close to the beach. The washer and dryer could use updating and few other things might need a little attention. We enjoyed our stay though and were happy with our experience.

Great Beach House – Comfortable, Quiet, and Family-Friendly We really enjoyed our stay at L’Étoile de mer! It’s in a peaceful neighborhood and within walking distance to the beach—not right on it, but definitely close enough for daily trips. The walk does involve crossing dunes, which can be a bit of a challenge with beach gear and young kids, but that’s just part of the beach experience and doesn’t take away from how great the house is.The house itself was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, and there were even games for the kids to enjoy during downtime. We especially loved sitting out on the balcony in the evenings—it was a perfect spot to relax. A baby gate at the top of the inside stairs was a thoughtful touch.Extras like beach chairs, bodyboards and outdoor shower were a nice bonus, and overall the house felt very thoughtfully set up for families. We’d definitely consider staying here again! Un grand merci :)

Comfortable and quaint

This house is exactly as advertised: close to the beach but in a quieter section of the outer banks. It was the perfect outpost to explore the surrounding areas from. We ventured out during the day to return home in the evening to a cozy home with the right amenities. If you want to cook at home, the kitchen is fairly well equipped. The living room was our main hangout on rainy days, and the kids and adults equally enjoyed the bean bags (especially the extra large one/I’m sure my partner is going to buy one when we get home). An all around lovely stay.

This is more suited for a frat house reunion than a family vacation.

Wish the owner had disclosed the house was next to a giant rancid dumpster port-a-potty. Deck is a safety hazard as a my son got several large (1-2inch) splinters from the deck and the deck furniture.

We are sorry hear that your time in Avon didn't meet your expectations. We are surprised to read that our family house to you resembles a frat house, as this is certainly not the feedback we have received from other guests. The deck and furniture get treated annually to provide protection against the elements, so splinters should not come off but as mentioned in the house notes, the spiky native plant sandspur is abundant in the area, and transfers easily onto the deck and indoor areas if shoes are brought in. The property next door to our house had a temporary construction set up on their drive to facilitate a sale process. As soon as we were notified of this, we tried contacting you using the number provided in the booking form but the number does not connect to the person who made the booking.

Disappointed

When we arrived, there were dead roaches on the carpet in the entryway. To be honest, we felt like we were in a fraternity house. The inside furniture was minimal. The refrigerator wasn't cleaned out and the upstairs bathroom tub and floor wasn't clean. Also, the outside stairway lights and the inside stairway lights weren't working which was a safety hazard. The interesting thing was that I let the owner know right away what was wrong with the house and his response was that he cleaned the place himself so he knows it was very clean and the lights were working just fine 2 weeks prior. He was also glad the pest control spray was working because the bugs were dead.

Thank you for your feedback. We regret to hear that a stay at our family home didn't fully meet your expectations. We want all our guests to have a great stay and therefore promptly offered to send maintenance staff over to fix the issues raised. Cleaning is done by a professional cleaning service in between rentals. We are very sorry to hear that this time their high standards were not met, and have shared your feedback with the cleaning crew. Sadly, cockroaches are very common in the OBX climate. We have our house professionally treated which both prevents and deters common household pests according to the recognized industry standards. We want to assure you that we are doing everything we safely can to minimize their presence. Our beach house is our family home and reflects our continental minimalist aesthetic. We like a clean, modern decor with some contemporary design classics added to the mix. We provide several photos of our house so that prospective guests can make an informed decision and find the perfect match for their OBX experience. We value our guests' feedback as it helps us tweak things towards the ultimate OBX guest experience. Over the winter months, we have updated the soft furnishings in our house and have added TVs to the downstairs bedrooms as a result of guest feedback. We are delighted with all the positive reviews and are excited to share our favorite part of the beautiful North Carolina coast with guests from all over the US!

Maison très confortable et bien équipée.

Maison bien équipée, très propre et confortable, à 5 minutes à pied de la plage. La proximité de la route NC 12 n’est pas problématique, le tout est très tranquille le soir. Lits et chambres confortable et avec beaucoup de rangement. Espace de vie au 3eme étage très spacieux et bien illuminé.

Great stay

Maybe the best equipped kitchen in a rental we’ve ever stayed at. Spiral stairs are fine for adults and older children but might be a concern for small children and elderly visitors. Very convenient and quiet neighborhood. Bedding and furnishings were also a higher quality than most rental units.

Nice beach home

Spacious home that accommodated 4 adults and 2 children very well for the week. Kitchen well supplied with everything needed. Not a short walk to the beach but were prepared for that from description and rented a wagon to carry our things out. We have stayed in Avon many times over the years but never on the sound. Enjoyed the view from the deck.

A gem

This is truly a gorgeous house. Great communication from LP. Shirt walk to the beach but the dune was a bit hard to walk over. Loved the house and layout. Wouldn’t hesitate to rent again.

Great location and perfect size for family!

Everything was great! We prefer cotton sheets and the ones provided were a microfiber polyester style. We like cotton quilts as that is just our preference, so no matter where we go we pack those. But everything we needed in the kitchen was there, which was absolutely perfect! There were seasonings in the cupboards that helped out when cooking. Only one minor complaint, more TVs! Lol! There was only one in the living area. We brought a 32 inch for our room along with our Fire Stick and were able to watch movies before bed. The kiddo used his iPad in his room or laptop to watch Hulu and Netflix. But it had everything else you need to feel at home, especially a washer and dryer, that was so convenient. The decor was very cute, lots of homemade artwork that made the home feel "homey". Tons of beanbags for the kiddo, he loved those! We hope to stay again next year!!

Great stay!

We had a great time staying here and enjoyed the house! It had everything needed - a well stocked kitchen, we loved the outdoor shower and the decks! We wish it was a little closer to the beach - it is actually across highway 12 and very close to the sound. We loved the convenience to restaurants and shops and owners have thought of small details to make the house safe (baby gate at the stairs) and comfy (bean bags were great!) and fun (well-stocked with books and a poker set!). Thanks for opening your home for others to enjoy!

Met our needs and was lovely

Newly outfitted with lots of furnishings from Ikea. 3 equal queen bedrooms. Fairly basic accommodations, but we booked late for a family trip and it was great. Could use some touches like reading lamps beside beds but the kitchen was well appointed and the outdoor shower was good. Dryer really needs replacing, and the host indicated that is in the works. Bathtub jets don't work, but that wasn't an issue for us. Host was quick to respond to a request for extra bedding.
