This is a perfect place to stay for small families with all the farm animals and outdoor space. It’s a comfortable stay with indoor and outdoor fire place. Kitchen pretty well equipped. Good location near Witchcliffe which is a great little town. Overall very relaxing and suitable for a family getaway.

Awesome farm stay experience.

Cute and cozy strawbale cottage. Great host and friendly environment. Well located. Lots of animals for the kids to pat and feed.

Overall nice and quiet place to stay. Keep in mind the dogs are to be on lead at all times in the farm.

Cosy farm stay

Cosy little straw bale cottage with a cracking wood fire. Keeps lovely and warm in winter. The farm animals (ducks, donkeys, alpaca's, etc) were great to interact with and the farm has lots of space for walks. Great location with quick access to Witchcliffe and Margaret River. Lovely stay overall. And fabulous it was dog friendly.

Amazing!

Our stay at the chalet was amazing. Being greeted every morning by some very cute and friendly ducks was a very nice start to the day. The chalet had everything we needed and was clean and cosy. The farm animals were friendly, the property was lovely, and the fact that we could bring our Labrador was fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Awesome family retreat!

Awesome place for a little family holiday. Very suitable for young children as the little dog Jellybean, the ducks, guinea pigs and other birds roaming around the cottage are all very friendly. The larger animals (e.g. donkeys, pig and alpacas) are in fenced paddocks. Despite all the animals, it is also very quiet in the mornings (no rooster!!) Strongly recommended and will be going back.

We had a wonderful stay at Birchfield Farmstay. Andy was very friendly, warm and welcoming throughout our stay, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.One of the highlights was definitely the animals. The guinea pigs were super cute running around freely, and the ducks, alpacas, and donkeys were all very approachable. They would happily come over for carrots and bread, which made the experience even more enjoyable and interactive. Andy also took the time to teach me how to start a fire using wood at the fireplace, which was a fun and memorable experience during our stay.The peaceful farm atmosphere made it a great place to relax and unwind. The only downside was the rat issue in the house, which we felt could be improved for a more comfortable stay.Overall, it was still a lovely farmstay experience with friendly hospitality and adorable animals.

Dear Stella, Many thanks for choosing to stay with us at Birchfield Farmstay! We are so happy you enjoyed the rural Farmstay experience. We were horrified to learn of the rat in the house, we've never had an issue with one inside the Chalet before. We can only imagine it snuck in through an open door. We've since installed a rodent repellent device which is now active. Thanks again for staying and for your lovely feedback.

Guinea Pigs galore

Had a lovely stay at Birchfield - loved the strawbale house and the location was lovely. Surrounded by ducks, guinea pigs, donkeys, llamas (or were they alpacas?) my dog wasn't sure what to make of all the animals lol. the host was great and made sure everthing was on point.

Fantastic escape from the world, would loved to have stayed longer, we stayed at this particular place because it is made of strawbales and we are interested in anything that stays a constant 21 degrees. Fantastic. If you are looking for first class and glitz and glamour this is not for you. If you love a quite, relaxed, humble stay this is for you. Enjoy, we did, thanks

Peaceful, close to Redgate beach and Witchcliffe

Cute little farm chalet in a peaceful location close to the beach (10min drive to beautiful Redgate Beach) and nice small wineries (Mr Barval and Amato vino). Perfect for a family of four with young children. Our kids loved the guinea pigs and there are also some donkeys, alpacas, ducks and pigs to feed. To really enjoy your stay, you need to be comfortable with all sort of animal noises (including night time and sunrise) and a few spider webs. The place could do with a little bit of extra cleaning and maintenance but overall a beautiful and peaceful spot for a relaxing holiday.

The cottage was ready for us and we let ourselves in. Our host popped in for a chat when we had settled. The kids loved feeding the animals every morning, donkeys, alpacas, ducks, baby ducks, a pig & peacocks, all very friendly. And there’s a great little route around the property for a walk. So peaceful, it was great to getaway from the rat race. Less than 10mins from Margaret river. We will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Farmstay Retreat

Fantastic no frills retreat at Andy and Justines place, full of rustic charm and lots of friendly animals about the place. Fireplace nice and cosy and location is far enough out of town to really chill and relax.

Great for families.

This was exactly what we were looking for - a country break, with a more traditional look at MR region away from the hype of the town centre (only ten minutes away). Straw bale construction is amazing to experience; insulated from the cold, (or heat) we were cosy, with plentiful hot water, comfy beds, surrounded by trees animals and pasture. A bonus - animals to pet, and our dog was welcome. Space to roam- great for families.

Great country stay

A great spot to get away for a few days and disconnect from the city. Ideal location in central South/West location not far from Margaret River and was pet friendly so alllowed us all to have a family dog-cation. Thanks again.
