Big Bear Lodge was perfect for our two week stay in Steamboat Springs (as a couple). Everything was exactly as described and exactly as pictured. Tom was a very responsive and helpful host.Self check in was super easy. The place was spotless. There were loads of essentials provided. Herbs and oil for cooking, kitchen towels, coffee and filters for the coffee machine, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of toilet paper, spare towels, dishwasher soap and supplies for the washing machine. This is the best supplied Vrbo we've ever stayed in.There was plenty of space for the two of us and plenty storage. My only very minor improvement suggestion would be that a set of drawers would be helpful when staying for two weeks as we did, but lots of wardrobe space and hangers. The bed was a bit soft for my liking but that's just personal preference, not a complaint.Great kitchen facilities and plenty of space to relax and chill out in the evenings after skiing on the large sofa.We loved the decor and especially the wooden vibes. Enjoyed looking the the photos of the condo renovation in the information booklet.The heating was excellent and we were never cold. The gas fire is a nice additional touch too.In terms of location, it was perfect. The free ski bus stop was literally 2 minutes walk from the door of the condo and buses are every 5 or 10 minutes. It's also only 15 minutes walk to the ski area if you don't mind the walk.We would definitely stay again!

The BigBear Lodge was the perfect place in all ways for our brief visit to Steamboat Springs. The location made access to area attractions and the downtown shopping district very easy. The lodge itself was very clean and comfortable. A restful place to land after a busy day of whatever activities in the Steamboat area. The hosts were terrific to work with before and during or stay. Highly recommended.

We had a great visit to Steamboat and enjoyed our accommodations, it had everything we needed and then some. We were surprised though that there was no air conditioning which made it hard to relax and sleep, it was 87 degrees in the residence when we went to bed, there were fans but didn’t help much. Also when we arrived they were installing a new roof, we wish they would have advertised (no air conditioning)

Cute place, just the right size for a couple. I bet it’s great in the winter. Warm and the ski bus stop is very close. A bit warm in the summer with no AC but totally doable. I’ll be back if I come back to Steamboat.

Steamy Stay in Steamboat

The good - clean, fresh remodel, comfortable size for 2, near enough to downtown, bus stop in parking lot if you don’t want to drive. The not-as-good - be aware there is no AC in the unit if staying in the summer. When we arrived at 3:30 the temperature was 89 degrees inside. It is a top-floor unit so heats up more in daytime than lower floors. Even with kitchen, bath, bedroom, and patio windows / door open with blinds and curtains open, and fans running it takes until about 1:00 AM for temps to drop into high 70’s. Comfortable until about 10:00 AM then heats back up. Also there are 3 flights of stairs to climb and carry things up and down. The parking area is a couple hundred or more feet away. So be prepared to have to carry things a decent distance, climb 3 flights of stairs, and in summer that the unit will be too hot for comfort between 10:00 AM and 1:00 AM in June - August. Otherwise great. Very clean. Very functional. Easy to find. Close enough to everything. A bit of a view from deck. We would stay there again.

Snowboard trip

Condo was perfect for our few days in Steamboat. Check in was easy. Nice to be just a few minutes away from the mountain. Others have commented on the bed being too firm but I thought it was great. Hot tub was also nice for sore muscles. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Steamboat Stay

Our stay was wonderful from beginning to end. Communication was great, the location was easy to find and access. We were able to catch the bus to Steamboat from the parking lot. The condo was well stocked. We would definitely stay there again.

The Perfect Spot

This place has everything you could want or need! It was the perfect location. We used the free Steamboats Springs Transit all week. There is a bus stop right by the condo. A 5 minute ride will take you to the ski area and a 10 minute ride will take you downtown. We were sad to leave this morning, but we will definitely be back for another stay.

The summer hiking and biking trails are just spectacular. We enjoy floating down the Yampa River and the great downtown restaurants. The summer outdoor movies on the mountain are really fun. The outdoor free concert series is really a bonus!

Winter here is magical. There is nothing like a day on the mountain skiing. The free bus is right outside the door and drops you off at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort. Come back home for a relaxing soak in the shared outdoor hot tub, dinner and a movie around our indoor fireplace or take the bus downtown for a beautiful stroll and dinner! It doesn’t get much better!

Spring, summer, winter and fall, Steamboat is a special place. It’s a lovely and friendly small town with so many family friendly experiences to partake in. We truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
