The owner was very attentive and helpful throughout the whole process; check-in was easy, property was ideally situated, the space was welcoming and clean, and the facilitates were excellent. Looking forward to booking again next year!

Great accommodation and location.

Beautifully furnished and clean accommodation. Very comfortable stay. Location excellent - overlooking the River Avon, short distance from the city of Stratford upon Avon but has a country feel.

I cannot come up with a single negative, it was spacious, spotlessly clean and so well equipped. The location was perfect, great views, next to a riverside walk for the dog and 5 min walk to the restaurant and bar.

The host was really good at communicating, the lodge was very clean lovely setting. Location on the river took about 40 minutes to walk into Stratford.

A little gem surrounded by nature only a couple of miles walk from Stratford on Avon I will definitely be booking again in the summer

Thank you so much for staying at the River Retreat Lodge. I am very sorry for the heating issues. As mentioned, the water heater is quite new so it was surprising to have problems with it. It seems the extra cold weather may have been part of the cause. My apologies for the inconvenience to you and any other guests.

Lovey little property, amazing location right on the river. Plenty to do, fishing, paddle boarding. The riverside venue really nice too for drink/food. 1 mile into the town centre. Would definitely return.

Lovely River Rretreat

The lodge was perfectly situated on the banks of the river so we could relax while watching the rowing boats passing. The nearby on site bar with restaurants is nice plus you can catch a boat from there that takes you into stratford. For £3 each the boat ride alone is worth the money.

River retreat Stratford upon Avon

Lovely property situated in a beautiful location on the river front. Lodge was very comfortable and well equipped and very much a home from home. Walked into Stratford most days where you will find lovely restaurants, cafes and shops.

Blissful week spent in this fabulous lodge, overlooking the river highly recommend

Fabulous view of the river, great glass veranda watching the boats, paddle boarders and the swans with their signets. every day we had the privilege of the swans coming to the lodge with their signets and we fed them corn, they were adorable, highly recommend the river retreat lodge

Fabulous Weekend Break

We spent a weekend here as a 3 friends away for a girly weekend.Fantastic location right by the river and the lodge was very clean and comfortable.We took the water taxi into Stratford which was lovely and then walked back which only took about half an hour.The host was very communicative and we would not hesitate to stay here again.Thoroughly recommended!

Good Lodge overlooking river

Met with friends for a short break to catchup after lockdown. Great spacious Lodge overlooking the river, very well appointed with everything you need. Comfortable lounge and dining area. Good sized bedrooms. Very near Stratford itself either by car or walking. Would recommend - aim to return.

A quiet retreat

Enjoyed our stay. Lodge was as expected. Well equipped, clean, comfortable and homely. Lovely views of the river etc. The only recommendation we would make is to give the exterior a bit of TLC - lots of cobwebs. Paul & Sonia

Schoolfriend's reunion

Four ladies of a certain age spent 3 nights in River Retreat Lodge and had a great time. Well equipped, great position looking out on the river. Caught the river taxi right into the centre of town, a picturesque ride, the drivers were great, full of local information and so helpful. The lodge was a perfect base to come back to, spacious and clean. Would recommend.

Yes - didnt do much cooking but everything we needed was there. Only thing very difficult opening key safe - not able to find info for central heating and electric fire in living area . Was very cold and wet when we arrived.

Hi Janet, sorry you had difficulty opening the key safe. I have to say that is a first time in the 7 years I have owned the lodge that someone had problems opening it. You did tell me on the phone that you were not used to key safes. Glad you were able to open it in the end. As for the weather, yes it can be quite cold in October in England, and of course by the river might be a little colder than other places. Perhaps you will return in the summer when the weather is milder and the sun shines across the river. It can be very beautiful with swans coming to feed. Regards, Stella

Lodge Retreat

Very nice property in front of river Avon very clean well kept all that you need. Twin bed room smaller than expected not much room to store suitcases and living area also, there should of been 5 in are party but two members were unable to come so with three plenty of room for us. Stella was a very good host provided plenty of info and quick to respond to messages would recommend this lodge.
