Spacious, contemporary and well-styled, Black Pearl Barn is the perfect holiday getaway for 1-2 families or up to 3 couples. Located down a quiet cul-de-sac yet close to the beach, estuary and Wood Street you can easily explore the delights of Mangawhai Heads or choose to simply laze in the summer sun on the huge deck whilst watching the kids play on the large flat lawn.

A funky and fully-habitable container out-house provides additional sleeping or a blissful place to relax and unwind with your favourite book.

Black Pearl Barn is kitted out with brand new furnishings and the kitchen is setup with everything you need (and more!). A heat pump and panel heaters keep the place cosy and warm if youre looking for a winter escape, and the board games will provide hours of entertainment for the family if you have to take a rain check.

As beautiful and rare as its namesake, Black Pearl Barn is the hidden gem of Mangawhai!

NB:

- Small-medium non-shedding dogs are allowed on request but the property is not fully fenced and pets must be kept off beds and furniture at all times.

- The TV does not have Freeview so normal TV channels are not able to be viewed but it has Chromecast so you can watch Netflix, Spotify, TV On Demand, etc

What a fantastic place. Great accommodation, awesome area. We enjoyed strolls around the village, the beach, and along the boardwalk, as well as a little shopping in the cute boutique stores. The highlight was the Mangawhai Cliff walk!A great place for a relaxing break.

We had a fantastic stay in Mangawhai! The location is ideal and the house is spacious, comfortable, and family-friendly, with plenty of room for the kids to play including a games room. Thank you for a wonderful stay we would love to come back again!

We were only in the area for a few days and this location was perfect for us - close enough to walk to Maungawhai hub area but off the main road and very quiet. Also being next to the sports park and having a dog was a bonus

A Nice Little Getaway

Clean property, nice sized rooms and a full fenced yard. Great that it backed on to a park with was good for the dog. Nice getaway for a few days and a good base for exploring the area. You will need to drive though as there isn't much in the village.Good stay overall.

Thanks for your feedback, it is interesting you say there is not a lot in the village though as there is Bennetts chocolate shop and cafe, Four Square, Award winning butcher, several shops a couple of restaurants and takeaways, a bar, Mangawhai Tavern and Saturday markets so guests usually find it a good location to stay with lots of things within walking distance.

Just what we needed

Perfect location for a short trip away. Close to restaurants, easy drive to beach, lovely neighbourhood. The only surprise was the 4am fishing trip party that departed from next door.

Delightful property, very quiet, private setting & close to all amenities. Fenced secure garden for my small fur babies, perfect. Looking forward to our return trip and enjoying hopefully some nicer weather. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Lovely house, local to everything with nice deck and yard. Trampoline and ping pong 🏓 to occupy the kids. Walking distance to Bennetts chocolate 🍫😋 and eateries. Will definitely return.

Very handy to our relations and great for entertaining.

The only thing that we were dissapointed about was the smell of dog and middle bedroom had locked wardrobe.

Glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry about the dog smell, we hadn't noticed anything at the pre-arrival check but the owner is going to check it out in case it is the blankets in the lounge that people have dogs on. Regarding the middle bedroom wardrobe, it isn't locked you just have to pull the door quite firmly as it is a strong catch.

Weekend getaway

Great location, walking distance to the Village, school and Tavern markets. Shoet drive ro New World at Mangawhai Central then a bit further to the Heads and then Beach. Great walk along the estuary and up in the dunes. Refreshed and ready for a new week. House itself was roomy, big deck and great yard. Kids loved the games room set up in the garage.

Sufficient house for small family. Fully fenced for dog which was great however underneath of house is open so be mindful of small dogs that like to explore 😝 While it is definitely walking distance to Bennett's and a few other places (butchers/ shops / Dune) we chose to drive due to changeable weather. Managawhai, Mangawhai Heads and further up the coast are lovely relaxed, dog friendly areas. We had a great chilled stay. Thanks!
