Sea Anchorage is located on a quiet cul-de-sac is in a handy location to all Mangawhai has to offer. Only a short drive to the surf beach or a 15-20 minute walk(or 5 minute drive) to the estuary, perfect for the whole family and your friends.

This modern well-equipped home is an entertainer's delight with great indoor/outdoor flow including the well-designed 'breeze way'. Bi-fold doors open to a large deck where you can enjoy all day sun. An ideal place to crank up the BBQ, grab a cold drink and chill out with friends after a day at the beach or estuary or enjoying one of the many activities Mangawhai has to offer.

There is also plenty of parking for the vehicles and boat and the boat ramp is only a 5 minute drive away.

The outdoor areas are amazing. We loved using the out door fire and bath and the gardens are gorgeous. Great selection of board games for both adults and children. We really enjoyed our stay here

We had a wonderful stay, the home is well suited and set up for families, everything we needed was available and the booking process was smooth and easy. A very enjoyable stay with so many hang out spots in the gorgeous garden. Loved the outdoor bath and shower!

Mangawhai Escape

The property was good, but it would have been wonderful if the deck area had been covered to allow for sitting outside when it was raining. The kitchen space was modern. The house was lovely and clean. The check in person arrived quickly but didn't answer questions via text when we tried to contact them. Overall the space was great.

Rent towels?

Very nice house. Comfortable and well-stocked. Beautiful garden, well-screened from the suburban neighborhood. The idea of renting towels is absurd for the nightly cost. More ridiculous was that for 4 people, we got a total of 4 bath towels, 2(!) hand towels, 2 bath mats, no washcloths. The place was down-at-the heels (ripped curtains and throw pillows, sticking door, etc. A washer, but no dryer. No extra lightbulbs. It felt like the management was not very generous. The list of instructions was so unwelcoming—bold DO NOT do this and that. It was like military rules, not from people who were happy to have us

Hi Joan, firstly thanks for your feedback, it is always good to get guests perspectives. Firstly, regarding linen, the nightly costs are exclusive of linen to make it cheaper for guest who wish to bring their own and this place is very competitively priced for what it provides. We do also clearly state this in the information we provide when you book so if it is now for you then you have the choice to not proceed with the booking. For a 3 night stay 1 towel per person should be sufficient as we provide very large towels and we are also thinking of the environment, but we would have been happy to provide additional if it was that much of an issue. 1 hand towel and bath mat per bathroom is standard, I am not sure why you would need more? I haven't heard anyone describe this property as down at the heels but will pass on your feedback to the owner, the listing also clearly states there is a washer but no dryer and that is quite common, sometimes it is about space, sometimes it is about energy use and in Mangawhai there is plenty of sun to dry clothes. Lastly, regarding the instructions, I am sorry you found them unwelcoming, we haven't had that comment before. On 2 full A4 pages there is one 'Do not' and that is to do with rubbish as unfortunately people would miss that and then rubbish would get attacked by animals and strewn around and leave a mess on the street. We are not trying to be military, we are just trying to provide clear and concise instructions so people are clear on what is expected and how to get assistance when they need it, but we appreciate your feedback and will review the wording when we next revise the sheet.

Perfect layout and gorgeous outdoors!

Great size and layout and such a bonus to have two bathrooms. The outdoors and tropical garden are stunning and we'll definitely try and get back when the weather is better in Spring/Summer (though it was lovely and warm and a relaxing Winter getaway).

Amazing gardens and house make you feel relaxed as soon as you arrive. Enjoyed the outdoor fire place to toast marshmallows and sit around and talk. Short drive to beach and shops. Would stay again.

Fun whanau stay

We had two families staying and there was plenty of space with open plan living making it really easy to watch the little ones. An easy drive to the surf beach, estuary, shops and adventure playground! Quiet neighbourhood and lovely gardens made it comfortable to be there in the afternoons while the little ones slept / rested We will definitely be back for another family holiday!
