Had a fabulous time!

We were a family group of 10 people - 6 adults and 4 small children. The house fit our needs perfectly. Tyler was responsive to our questions and check in was easy. The scenery and night sky are beautiful from the back patio and deck overlooking the water. The home is well equipped and was very clean and tidy. We would definitely stay here again!

Thanksgiving family time

This was a great place for our adult family and two furry pets to stay. We especially loved the outdoor space. The kitchen and living area was excellent.😊 I would ask for table lamps in all bedrooms and a magnifying mirror for people of a certain age to put on their makeup.😉 We were very pleased that the host was quick to answer any questions.

Clean house and rooms, the pool table has a rip, the kitchen is huge and the island is nice but fairly understocked which presented some cooking challenges. The main patio could be amazing but the main bbqs weren’t hooked up and the counters unfinished - the patio itself and overlook onto the river is incredible. We loved the little beach area and fishing from the dock, the yard is big for games which we took advantage of. The beach is shared with neighbours, and it was weird to have the neighbours and their kids around while we were there - they were nice and it wasn’t a huge deal, but was a surprise. We had a great time, but I would have gone elsewhere had I known. The host is very responsive, nice, and informative/organized - with a few tweaks this place would be 5 stars no doubt.

Hello! Thanks for reviewing our property. I’d like to take some time to expand on some things you stated in your review. Our kitchen is completely stocked and checked every stay. I’m not sure what additional items you have needed but it was not brought to our attention. Our outdoor patio area has natural granite stone countertops which indeed are finished, so I’m confused by this statement. Furthermore, the bbq that is built in is not hooked up to gas as we are awaiting the gas company to turn on the meter which is obviously out of our control. A perfectly working and large napoleon grill is provided in the meantime. The beach area you are referring to is our neighbours who graciously let you and your group use it. Please book elsewhere and ask their neighbours if you can use their beach as I’m sure they will not be as willing. Lastly, this group booked our place and hosted a bachelor party without giving us prior knowledge which is against our rules and policy of parties. I wish I had stated that in my review but did not as it would affect his ratings. For anyone looking to book our cottage please feel free to reach out and I’m happy to provide any additional information regarding the cottage. Thank you !

Long weekend family vacation

We checked in on Thursday and the house was nice, clean and inviting. The kitchen is beautiful for a large group of people. The kids all loved the bunkbed room. The back patio is big with a gorgeous view. There is an Osprey nest across the river and I loved watching them all weekend. One of the little areas by the water is like a little cave with chairs. It is very peaceful there and I enjoyed my morning coffee in that area everyday watching the birds and the jumping fish. You can walk further to a fun swimming spot with kayaks and a big water mat to play on. The kids had a lot of fun on it. There are a lot of stairs and uneven ground to get around outside so it might not be great if you have mobility issues. We walked into town one day. It’s a nice little town to do a little shopping, parks, museum and some amazing frozen yogurt. We all loved our long weekend in this home. Thank you Tyler and Debbie for helping us make great memories we will cherish forever.

Bad experience in the first time cottage

From the moment we arrived at the property, it became evident that things were not as they had been portrayed in the listing. The condition of the cottage was appalling, with filthy and broken backyard furnishings, posing serious safety hazards, especially for children. Shattered glass in the backyard was an accident waiting to happen. Picking up the shattered glass was the first thing we did after arriving to the cottage. The worst part was that the backyard area was still under construction, which was not at all disclosed in the listing. To make matters even worse, the hot tub, was off-limits to guests. We had paid a considerable sum to enjoy a cottage, but we were denied access to it placing the area we had booked, leaving us feeling cheated and deceived. The most distressing part of our stay was unbeknownst to us, the owner's mother brought a large group of guests to the property, effectively turning our private retreat into a loud party venue. We had booked the cottage expecting all the privacy as advertised, but instead, we found ourselves sharing the property with complete strangers, which was a deeply unsettling experience. Our family vacation, was quickly turned into discomfort, frustration, and constant disappointment. I urge all families and travelers to exercise utmost caution when booking accommodations through this cottage. Our unfortunate experience demonstrates that not all listings are as they appear, and the potential for such incidents exists.

Beautiful cottage and property/few draw backs

We had such a great stay in Fenelon Falls at this gorgeous property. The cottage is very large so there is lots of room to move around. The kitchen is outstanding and makes cooking for everyone so easy. Tyler was great to deal with. My only suggestions and negatives were that there were a few things we wish we had known. Ad shows an ice maker. They have one but it doesn’t work. I spoke with one of the owners and she told me we actually have to provide our own. Outdoor table chairs were all broken. Once communicated to the owner all of sudden 6 appeared out front still in packaging for us, we would have had to take them all out of packaging and carry them all to the back. This should have been set up for us. Advertises a pool table. Its a snooker table and the table was ripped, in very poor condition as well as cues and chalk. On the ad it showed an outdoor umbrella. There wasn’t one and we found one in the garage but it was broken. This was very difficult since there is little to no shade on the patio. Biggest complaint was the sliding patio door is not working properly and you have to use every ounce of strength to open it. We had my elderly mother with us and she was unable to go out and in by herself. This was very disappointing and stopped my mom from coming and going on her own. Given these drawbacks we did have a great time. This property has lots of potential, however we feel paying the price we did we were quite disappointed with a few things.
