We only allow dogs in our pet friendly rooms. One dog is free, but the second is an additional $25 one time. Please let us know if you are bringing a second dog.

The old motor lodge re-invented! We recently took two hotel rooms and combined into one nice kitchenette suite. All new bathrooms, kitchens, doors, windows, lock system and furniture. Still has the old radiators and wall mounted AC units that we just couldn't find a way around, but they work great! An excellent base camp to enjoy the Black Hills and Badlands. Owners are avid hikers and mountain bikers who have lived in the area their entire lives. Happy to help get you pointed in the right direction. This apartment is located on the second floor.

The Sojourn Vacation Rentals and Flats offers modern, fully furnished flats in Rapid City, SD. Rooms include a kitchen with a full refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and dishwasher. They also include a living space and private bedroom. There is a patio available for guest’s relaxation and enjoyment.

The Sojourn is conveniently located for travelers looking to visit Mt. Rushmore, the Black Hills, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Sturgis, and more. This property is nonsmoking.
The kitchenettes are perfect for the vacationer or longer term out of town employee who needs some local housing. Located on Mt. Rushmore Road. 1.5 miles to downtown Rapid City, 26 miles to Mt. Rushmore. Local hiking and biking trail heads as close as .5 miles from property. Great selection of restaurants and stores in walking distance. .75 miles from Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Extra notes:

We use the KeyCafe automated check in system so you can arrive anytime after 3pm.  The booking code and instructions will be sent via txt and email on the day of arrival.  Of course, we are happy to assist!  If we aren't on the property when you arrive we are near by.

The Tiny House was a delightful place in Hulett. It was tastefully decorated. The charm of the town played out for us when the school band marched by in practice! And walking the streets where the corner flower gardens shouted color added to the experience. The Museum and Art Gallery is definitely worth a visit. So much history and relics. The people in this town were very kind! This home carried that same inviting feeling!

The stay was perfect for our plans. The location is fantastic for multiple reasons, but our stay it was perfect to access national parks and get to downtown for food and shopping. It was easy to get back to the interstate to continue our journey as well. The bed was comfortable and couch in the living room was as well. We found it a bit odd that the air conditioner was only in one room, but fortunately it did not affect our comfort in the bedroom. It was powerful enough to get the job done.

Intro to SD

We were very pleased with the accommodations. We were on our 10th day of traveling and were ready for a couple of nights of rest. The separate bedroom provided plenty of space for us to spread out and relax for two nights after sightseeing during the day. We found not only Sojourn but Rapid City was very dog friendly as we enjoyed dinner one night downtown. We did accidently leave some things in the room after checkout and were quickly contacted. We are in the process of making arrangements to have the items shipped to our house. Thanks for a delightful time.

One small problem

We arrived a half hour prior to our check in time, tired and hot from traveling. We had hoped to check in and get our room key, but no such luck. We had to wait in the hot sun before the proper time would allow us to get our key. My suggestion would be to allow your auto key system to open 1 hour with in the 3 pm check in time.

Girl trip 2022

Property was perfect for my trip. Convenient to all the attractions, restaurants, and most of your needs. Clean and just as described. The young men and women managing the property are doing a wonderful job. Very attentive, always available for any needs, questions, ect.
