Wonderful family lake week

What a wonderful lake home!Easy access to the beach, plenty of parking for a large family. Lots of space for 5 grandchildren to play. Close to everything we needed. Blueberry picking, grocery stores and towns along Lake Michigan.

Great location

The house is perfect, plenty of room for 7 adults and two infants. The location was very close to South Haven and a short drive to Saugatuck. The private beach for the neighborhood is clutch. Just don’t book our week we’re heading back next year.

Great House!

We really enjoyed Dick and Sally's house! Great space, lots of bedrooms for our different families, and tons of bathrooms! Everyone had a relaxing stay and the area was so beautiful. The beach access was a bit hard to find the first time, but we figured it out and from then on it was a breeze! Great stay and we'd def stay again!

Great family accommodation

This was our second time to rent this house in Glenn Haven Shores. It's very well suited to a big family group, with lots of space for everyone and several small decks where people can get together in little groups. For us it was perfect for our annual family reunion and the tennis court and private beach are a big attraction. We hope to be back again next year.

Amazing Week!

My family and I stayed for a week at this cottage and LOVED it! The cottage was very spacious with rooms for everyone and very well stocked. Everything we could have thought of was in the kitchen which was great because we cooked at home for almost every meal. The owners are so kind and extremely responsive. Having access to a private beach (just for the residents of this community) was amazing especially with young kids in the group. We enjoyed the basketball net, fire pit, corn hole, volleyball net, and multiple outside decks and sitting areas. This was the perfect place for our family Fourth of July gathering and we can’t wait to return!

Great vacation house

My family and I had a great time at the Cottage in Glenn Haven Shores. The house is big and well-stocked with everything you need. There was a minor plumbing problem and the owners got someone out to fix it immediately. Some reviews had led us to believe that the beach wasn't usable. That wasn't the case at all. The reviews must be from a year when the lake's water level was high. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed swimming, beach walks and watching the sunsets. We loved everything about this house and hope to return next year.

Fantastic Family Vacation

This house was a perfect fit for our large family of 13, ages 11 thru 70. We’ve stayed at many summer houses throughout the years and this one was by far the most comfortable with plenty of space inside and outside for everyone to enjoy each other’s company, or find some quiet place to relax. The house was well stocked, including kitchen utensils, towels and paper goods, sporting equipment, a great grill with extra gas tanks, volleyball court, and nearby tennis court. We didn’t have enough time to explore it all. The beach was accessible either by car or a short walk down a long, asphalt paved slope. We hauled our equipment down to the beach via car each day, giving grandma and grandpa rides up and down, while half the family walked through the neighborhood, down the hill to the beach. Less than a ten minute walk. The water was beautiful, and there was plenty of room on the beach for the three or four groups who were there each day. Overall, a fantastic house for a large family!

Very nice house. Lots of room! Thought it had a little more of a private beach. We went to the North Beach in town and enjoyed that. Great stay overall!

Cottage in the Glenn was great for our large group of 8 adults, four children plus two infants. So much space and plenty of places to congregate indoors and out, or separate, if desired!! Comfortable furniture and beds. Quiet neighborhood, short walk to bluff to view sunset, short drive to beach area parking lot
walking not a great option due to steep road down the bluff. Beach was reduced but big enough for the limited neighborhood residents and we took full advantage of it!

Wonderful vacation home!

The property was perfect for our large group of extended family! Plenty of bedrooms, places to gather and spaces to get away from everyone when you just need to read a book. We loved the firepit and spent most evenings out there. The beach was in walking distance and we had some fun afternoons there. We also used the tennis court and enjoyed the sunsets over the lake. The basketball hoop was a hit with the young adults in our group. Thanks for sharing the house with us!

Family time in South Haven.

Nice older home, in wooded area 7 mi north of South Haven. Ample rooms and comfortable beds and very clean. Great extras too but decor is outdated.

Utterly Fantastic experience!

This is an awesome house, with everything we could have hoped for our vacation. The house is beautiful, the surrounding grounds and amenities offered are excellent. Our dynamic family members, came, stayed, left, and others took their place. The location is perfectly situated between South Haven and Saugatauck, with so many attractions within a 20 minute drive. The private beach was truly wonderful and we all got some great photos, especially of the sunsets. We were blessed with great weather all week. This house is perfect for a family get together. Lots of games, a firepit, a grill and so many places to gather (or find a quiet moment, as well) are all available.

Fun get-away in South Haven

We had 11 adults staying here and had plenty of room. We enjoyed the outdoor space at the rental and the easy access to the beach. House is in a beautiful neighborhood. The house had everything we needed and then some. Would recommend this property for large groups.

Wonderful

This house is perfect for extended families with children, location is great with plenty of privacy. Kitchen had everything needed for our family that does extensive cooking and baking, and the beds are comfortable. The private community beach does exist and there was enough beach during our stay to set up, but we chose to spend most of our beach time at Van Buren State Park which is wonderful. Sally and Dick are wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better place, and would definitely return!

Perfect family vacation spot

We just ended our 2021 family vacation at this property and couldn't have been more pleased by the accommodations and location. Sally and Dick were are wonderful hosts, quickly solving a hot water issue for us. We had seven adults and two children in our group and had plenty of room and great sleeping set ups for all. Other than the weather (something no one has any control over) the vacation was perfect!

Family vacation-August 2019

This property is very convenient to South Haven and Saugatuck which was great for sightseeing. We had a family of 7 adults and 5 small children and the house accommodated us very well. We enjoyed South Beach in South Haven as the private beach was more rocky than sandy. The property is very shady which many large trees which made sitting outdoors very enjoyable. There was plenty of refrigerator, pantry storage, large dining, and living areas which was great. Having 2 washers and dryers was also very convenient. We did not use the fire pit as it was too hot during our stay but the area is very nice with plenty of firewood. It's a beautiful area of Michigan and we had a great family vacation.

Family vacation

We had a great week in South Haven with the whole family including 8 adults and 5 kids under the age of 5. The house was perfect for our large family with plenty of rooms to sleep in and plenty of room to enjoy our time together from the two sitting areas that are side by side to the two dining room tables. The only reason that I did not give it a 5 for cleanliness is that the house was clean, but I would not say spotless and the outside decks had a lot of spider webs. Overall, it was a great place to stay and would come again!

Great family vacation spot

We booked this property for our annual family vacation which included 6 adults and 4 kids. We were all very happy with the house - it seemed everything we needed was there and the neighborhood was quite nice. There is a beach within walking distance, but due to the high water levels much of the beach had disappeared but the kids still enjoyed going down to wade and we saw some beautiful sunsets from there and well as finding two Petoskey stones! South Haven's North Beach was only about 10 minutes away and was a great beach. We also checked out Oval Beach, but preferred North Beach. The owners were great - we had one small issue with the coffee pot and I texted the owner who called back within 5 minutes with a solution. Thank you for a great week - the kids are already asking when we can go back.

Lovely home- highly recommended

The Cottage in the Glen is a large, neat, well maintained home (and well equipped) that has large dining and living areas to accommodate big groups for eating, games, and conversation. At the same time it affords separate areas for privacy. A nice deck looking out on the wooded back yard and a front deck on the opposite side where I enjoyed my morning coffee. There is a nice gas grill and fire pit in the back yard. Access to a small but lovely private beach and close to South Haven ( 6 or 7 miles) for the public beaches, shops, and dining. The owners, Dick and Sally Shaink, are personable and accommodating. A very minor maintenance issue was handled quickly and with no inconvenience to us. This home was the perfect spot for a memorable vacation for our large extended family. 5 stars!
