Our time on The Dunes

It was ok

We were a little disappointed in this condo. We have stayed in several places with VRBO and this one was our least favorite. The condo itself was just okay and we felt like as far as quality products they provided the bare minimum. The sofa was not at all comfortable to sit on, and in the bedrooms the sheets were not comfortable to sleep on as they were a little scratchy. Also this is not a deal breaker but the toilet paper was cheap thin stuff. Not that we had to have the best but just something that didn’t feel like sandpaper would have been good considering the cost of the place. Usually we bring our own paper products but we didn’t this time. Lesson learned. We also usually bring our own coffee filters and there and those end up being there with the coffee maker. There were none which means we had to make a trip back to the store to get some. Plus there was work on the exterior of the building which is was noisy, and they also had to rope off the entrance which meant we had to walk around it. We would cut through and walk through the sandy shrubby area in front of the building. One day when we were doing that we were told we needed to be careful as there were poisonous snakes in the area. I guess the whole experience was just not a great one.

Beach Vacation

Overall a great stay. Had a couple items go wrong. First stay in my 40 years of going to Gulf Shores that the check in time of 4PM was strictly enforced. Front door lock is remotely activated precisely at 4PM. Clothes dryer broke down but was repaired after 2 calls. Other than that, it was a great stay.
