Exceptional location with some inconveniences
The apartment is in a terrific location, walking distance to a huge number of museums, sites, and some terrific restaurants and shopping. There were several minuses to go with the pluses.
-- The Bathroom! You can't turn around in the shower without knocking the taps or getting stuck to the curtain. Water pressure is low. The sink is small, and the counter juts out above it, so it's hard to do anything over the basin. There's no ventilation, so towels don't dry. And by the end of our week's stay, the damp conditions attracted water bugs.
-- The staircase is narrow and low. And while there is a small elevator, you have to climb some steps to get to it; the stops aren't on the same landing as the apartment doors, and it doesn't seem to operate with more than 125kg in it.
-- The kitchen has a handful of dishes, some utensils, and one dish towel. There's a coffee-maker, but no pods (and none available at nearby shops that fit the model). It all just felt kind of meager.
-- The bed is hard to maneuver around. But it is comfortable, and we found the bedroom quiet and dark enough to get good sleep.
-- Accessing the apartment is usually fine. The app for the locks was easy and reliable. However, if you need a repair or to store your bags or something, the office is 20 minutes away by car.
-- On the upside, the living/dining area was comparatively spacious, and the small balcony was lovely for a breath of fresh air and a view of the street below.
It was quite a mixed experience.
