Nice House

Reviewer Comments: Very nice house and well laid out except for having the living level bathroom in a bedroom. Not our first time to Jekyll so we knew we would not have beach at high tide. They must have fixed the air units as we were able to keep the house cool. (another reviewer said the house was hot on the living level) This is a pet friendly house, so the couches smelled like dogs. The advertised "queen bed" on the living level is only a double bed. We took advantage of the Vay K Gear credit and rented 4 bikes. It was so wonderful having them delivered to the house and then picked up at the end of the week. Wonderful new option, great job Jekyll Realty! Overall, we were happy with the house and had a great time.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Beach access was extremely limited and even during low tide we had to walk through a tide pool that did cause some concern. To be fair, the listing did say- may not have beach access at high tide- it should say NO beach access at high tide.The house was hot downstairs- the upstairs stayed cool for sleeping but the downstairs bedroom was even hotter.We had a great time with family and that is why we went, just wish the air conditioning was better and the beach access wouldn’t have been so terrible.

It was absolutely delightful, relaxing, and we loved our tine at Sea la Vie home! All of us live nature , so we took advantage of the Ocean view, along with the turtle museum, every day we were visited with the lical deer, and of course Driftwood Beach. The Christmas lights around the island were beautiful and our stay at the home was exactly size for our family.

There were a few things I wish I would have known.The kitchen is not stocked with everything. I had to go and buy containers and aluminum pans. We were also there for Thanksgiving and doing a lot of cooking, so may not be an issue for some. None of the rooms have overhead lighting or fans. The rooms were very stuffy at night. The toilets are older and lower, which only matters if you have older guests with you. It is difficult for them to get up and down.This house was not throroughly cleaned before we arrived. We cleaned up a ton of pet hair multiple times throughout the week, which should not have been the case given the amount that is charged for cleaning. Blankets had pet hair embedded in them.The walk to the beach was easy and wonderful. The living space was a wonderful size and had plenty of seating. The beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. Overall, we liked the house, but wouldn't stay again.

The only issues were electrical. The upstairs bedroom connected to the Jack and Jill bathroom, none of the electrical outlets.The minor issue with the TV remote downstairs was that all the mainly used buttons were missing.

There was plenty of space for all of us in the home and close to be beach. As with other houses in that area, we didn't get much beach time due to high tides. Did a lot of cooking, kitchen had what we needed for doing that. Had a Real washing machine, not one of those watersaver ones.

Easy Living!

The layout made for easy living from cooking and sharing meals at the table to hanging out in the living room and den off the side. The extra fridge and freezer was a wonderful surprise! The laundry was out of the way and convenient. Our family of seven were comfortable and enjoyed the space! The only bummer was the beach access. The beach there has eroded away to the extent that you must traverse a water covered rock area even at low tide. The beachfront there is shallow and limited in comparison to Great Dunes and St. Andrew. With that said, we’d still come back.

Loved our stay once again. Everything was perfect and exactly what our group needed to relax at the end of the pandemic. Comfortable furniture, beautiful decor plenty of room to be together and a reading nook for being alone. Can’t wait to be back next year!
