I’m truly sorry to hear that your trip began with so much frustration. I understand how disappointing it must have been to arrive late at night after a long drive and face an issue with the door. As I explained privately, the smart lock had been working without issue for the previous guests, and my service team verified at 7:30 a.m. the following morning that the door was functioning properly. While vacation rentals do not operate as 24/7 hotel desks, I do provide keyless entry for convenience, and I immediately offered to reimburse you for the alternate lodging you secured that night. I also refunded your entire reservation in full, though you ultimately chose to end your trip early. As both a traveler myself (often arriving in the early hours with my working K9) and as a host, I am always mindful that late-night check-ins carry added challenges. I do my best to mitigate those risks with reliable technology and prompt support, but it is important for guests to be aware that vacation homes differ from hotels in this regard. Again, I regret that your experience wasn’t what you hoped for. While this was an isolated incident, I take your feedback seriously and will continue working to ensure smooth, stress-free stays for future guests.
