Fanrastic, well located residence

Ww all enjoyed out stay here. Loved the vibe of the home. Older with character. Several zones to relax on your own or with others. Great outdoor space. Bruce was a grest host. Good instructions, and excellent recommendations. Very friendly welcome.

Beautiful property, great location

Excellent experience renting at this property. The house is beautiful, clean, and well kept. It is conveniently located in Mission Bay, minutes from Interstate 5. The quiet neighborhood is on a hill where you can see fireworks at night at Sea World over the bay. The back patio and deck area was spacious and welcoming. Highly recommend and thank you.

Great house, authenticity mid-century with just the right updates.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in San Diego. The house is extremely well located with convenient freeway access. Quiet neighborhood and neighbors. Great outdoor space with strung lights, table and jacuzzi -perfect for chilly evenings. We highly recommend the house to anyone who appreciates the best architecture of the 1970's. The only thing missing was a couple chaise lounge chairs on the deck a little warmer temperatures.

Great location

House is dated and in a mixed neighborhood but offers pretty good privacy in the backyard. The hot tub is partially visible from the street. Lots of spider webs in the windows, beds are queen and not very comfortable. Downstairs powder room is unusable because pocket door does not close. Overall good experience but the pictures make it look better than it is. Property management was excellent.

Disappointed

The pictures are disseptive. The furnishings are very dated and on the last day a roach fell out of one of the lights. Definitely not worth the rate per night. We have stayed elsewhere in San Diego before for a nicer place for less money. The owner is however really nice and the area was in a great location.

We are happy to hear that you found the house to be in a great location and that the services provided to you by the Property Management team to be very good. It is however, very rare for us to find the need to respond to a review such as this, and although we appreciate your feedback, we humbly disagree on your assessment of the furnishings. They are of a Mid Century modern genre and exactly as depicted and described on the website so that you can better make your decisions that are to your liking and style choices, prior to booking. Also, in all our years of managing this home, we have never had one other group of guests put forth this type of pest complaint and it is disturbing to us to hear of this. We had an in depth conversation with the Head of our cleaning services- who confirms they too have NEVER seen any pests in the home. We also have a superior Pest control service who just completed a thorough inspection of the premises and have found no evidence of any breaches, leading them to conclude that the sighting must have been a one time occurance. Our apologies are extended to you for your experience of this one time random event. We hope that our future guests will appreciate that we manage this home with Cleanliness and Integrity and our goals are always to have your vacation be of a highly enjoyable experience! Charming Home, With Spectacular Views, in a primo location!

If totally modern is your thing, this home may not be for you. While the home does have modern kitchen appliances, it could use an update in utensils and some furnishings throughout the home. However, it is a large and unique layout, with a beautiful back yard setting and incredible views from the master bedroom at sunrise. We spent most of our time on lower level, enjoying the outdoors. A tv on the patio or on the lower level would of really completed the stay. Overall, we had a wonderful trip, in a great location and would definitely recommend staying at this unique property.

Excellent property managers and excellent location!

Let me begin by saying that Bruce and Susan were a pleasure to deal with. Susan from the beginning was very quick to reply and upon our arrival, in which we were early, Bruce took the time to make sure that we had everything that we needed and showed us how everything worked. As for the property itself, it is in a great area, especially for young families, very close to La Jolla, Sea World, and the Zoo. The backyard was the crown jewel of the property which is very secluded and makes it very easy to relax after a long day. As for the house itself, the layout is great with lots of room to move around. As someone who has read hundreds of reviews on Vrbo for numerous properties, I understand how important these reviews can be to both the owners and the renters. The property is exactly as you see in the pictures. However, with all a positives of the property listed above, the house could use a few updates. We felt that even with its 70's feel this property does need some updated furniture, especially a new bed in the room with a the futon. With a few new pieces of furniture this property could truly be a retreat not of the ordinary!! The backyard, the property managers, and the excellent location are still the selling points for us with this property!

The overall stay was great. Location is perfect. Nestled in a nice neighborhood central to all major destinations. Airport, highway, downtown and the beach. The house was awesome and loved the spa feature!

Great location

This home is in a great location. The house is large and spacious. The property manager Bruce is great. He was responsive and provided great insight into the neighborhood. Two of the beds are firm and the hot tub is a little faulty. Overall I would visit this home again.

Good location

Good location, it was easy to get around from this home base. The property manager was very responsive. The beds weren't the most comfort, but we were so tired after a long day of fun we slept great anyway. There was a well stocked kitchen perfect for cooking meals at the house. Loved the back yard area.

Great location, needs update including beds

Location, location, location! Layout was great. Kitchen had most of the tools we wanted. Property needs a refresh of furniture and a deep clean. We had to reach a plug behind bed and found it to be very dusty and dirty. Beds all need to be updated. Mattresses are old. I’ve seen the owners response that perhaps people have different preferences but after sleeping there for a week, I didn’t sleep well because the mattresses are thin and aged. Overall we had a good experience but I would probably pass on staying there again because of the poor sleep quality.

Very cool vibe

Location was awesome! Only a few minutes away from Old Town, La Jolla, Pacific beach, and so much more. The house has such a cool retro vibe. Great place for a family vacation. Would definitely stay again!

Nice house

+ Susan is very responsive, and clearly has experience running the house + has tons of towels, games, books, etc + Glass windows in the master bedroom makes the view quite stunning + plenty of space for the whole family to lounge around + Susan and I encountered some issues with the HomeAway platform, and she was patient throughout the process (the back and forth and problems were all caused by HomeAway and the fact they outsource their payment platform) - quite cold in December (in certain parts of the house) — though there are heaters everywhere. Just doesn’t reach some areas - third bedroom doesn’t feel like a bedroom because of the need to walk-through to the 2nd bedroom — this is clearly stated in the listing and is my fault for not imagining or understanding this correctly - Not a ‘one-click-and-you’re set’ type of booking — i.e., Needed to send (via physical mail) a printed contract to Susan for the house before the booking is set. Maybe not a problem for others, but I work a 70hr/week job and would rather have bookings be simple - we had to buy our own shampoo and conditioner (maybe we just didn’t find it? We just looked in the bathrooms) - During the HomeAway booking issue, something became messed up with the security deposit. Susan called me on the 2nd to last day of the stay to try to resolve this and have me pay the security deposit then. I understand it was a bad situation for Susan (to not have a security deposit on the house because of the HomeAway platform issues), but being interrupted during a stay (and so close to the end — less than 20 hours to check out) to discuss an issue like this at some length interrupted the feeling of vacation. Should have been resolved earlier, or not during vacation. Overall: nice house, average value, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Beautiful, stylish, and comfortable property in prime location!

My husband and I, our 2 kids, and 3 grandparents stayed in this wonderful property for a lovely vacation in San Diego. We had an amazing time! The house accommodated us all very comfortably. This property is an absolute architectural gem. It laid out very beautifully. The mindful decor is fantastic in its retro chic style. It has dramatic stylistic touches everywhere - we really appreciated the hung artwork and the stonework within the house. We spent quite a bit of time enjoying the backyard, with the lovey deck and hot tub. We barbecued and enjoyed meals outside, basking in the beauty of our surroundings. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend that you do too!

Great location, ideal for familes and multiple couples

Bruce who manages the property was terrific, very helpful and accommodating. We had a late flight and since no one was checking in the day we checked out he gave us a late check out time. The house itself is very spacious, wonderful kitchen and dinning area, both indoors and outdoors. The bedrooms are a good size especially the master. My only complaint and the reason for 4 starts instead of 5 was the bed in the master was very uncomfortable. In my opinion the mattress needs to be changed out. The location is absolutely terrific. Close to all the beaches, Gaslamp district, Old Town and Little Italy. Plenty of parking at the house. Very quiet neighborhood.

My vacation was great! The houses were wonderful and close to most of the things that we wanted to see making it easy to get around. The restaurants recommended were fabulous!! Boci and La Paloma....would highly recommend them to anyone!

Fabulous location, large home - had everything we wanted and more!

Highly recommend this home. Close to everything fun to do, yet private and quiet. Loved the outdoor spa and the overall ambience. Property managers were very helpful and were there for us to answer any questions. Would love to come back soon and take advantage of the repeat renter discounts! Thank you!
