Welcome to River Song, a newly renovated, peaceful, riverfront cabin located on the North Fork of the New River in Lansing, NC. Blending cozy log cabin charm with chic farmhouse style. This home offers a perfect mix of comfort, style, and seclusion.
Nestled at the end of a quiet gravel road, River Song offers just the right amount of seclusion while keeping you close to charming mountain towns and fun adventures. Allow us to host you for a magnificent mountain get-away!
Enjoy private riverfront access for fishing, floating, or relaxing by the fire pit. Bring your floating tubes, kayak, canoe, fishing gear and enjoy our private river access. (We have a few life-vest, paddles, 1 kayak, 1 canoe currently available for your use with more to come in the near future)
Your hot tub is sitting on the back deck overlooking the river. There is plenty of outdoor seating & dining area with a grill for your use. You will find a covered deck on the bottom floor for rainy days. The top deck has seating on either side. All the decks overlook the river and are perfect for a peaceful morning sipping your coffee, reading a book, or hanging out with your grill master.
As you enter our home the open concept layout seamlessly connects the kitchen and living room, creating a bright, social space perfect for gathering and relaxing. This area features vaulted ceilings and unique stained glass windows up top.
Our kitchen is well equipped with all you need to make your favorite meals. From a crock pot for dump and go meals to a grill for those summer favorites we've got you covered. We also provide a few of our family favorite spices.
The living area has comfy leather couches. Wi-fi (throughout the home) and TV with streaming service apps so you can watch your favorite shows.
Our dining area allows you to enjoy meals with a view. Our floor-to-ceiling windows span the entire end of the home and allows for direct river overlook.
Master bedroom has a queen bed. Its neatest feature is direct deck and hot tub access out the side door. This room includes an attached full bathroom, closet for storage, ceiling fan, and dresser.
The loft bedroom is a favorite with a queen bed, large walk in closet, a reading nook with a cozy hanging hammock chair, a small selection of books (that is in the process of expanding), and an attached full bathroom.
The basement bedroom has a double bed and has a door opening to a covered patio for those rainy days or those hot days you need a cool shady spot.
You will have full access to a full size washer and dryer.
As the last house on a quiet gravel road you'll enjoy total privacy with no passing cars. Parking is best suited for 2 vehicles. While there is enough space to turn around a full-size pickup, the area is a bit tight - so we recommend arriving prepared to do a little careful maneuvering.
There is plenty to do here on the property but there is also many nearby attractions including but not limited to:
5 min to Lansing
15 min to downtown West Jefferson (shopping, dining, mountain hiking w/ views)
30 min to Grayson Highlands State Park
40 min to Whitetop, VA Creeper Trail Station (biking, hiking)
45 min to Boone, NC (App State, skiing, etc.)
30 min to Blue Ridge Parkway access
IMPORTANT:
In winter months we require 4wd or all wheel drive due to one section of the gravel road being steep. Please check the forecast before your stay to determine whether you are comfortable coming. We will work with you on rescheduling or canceling if weather plays a role in last minute changes of reservations. We will do our best to help you keep a check on weather forecast for your stay. Typically this would be December through February.
No pets allowed due to allergies. If evidence of pets is found you will be charged an additional $150.
