This is a clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient place to stay about 20-30 minutes walk west of central Amsterdam. The kitchen has all the basics and a dishwasher, but no microwave. Martijn is an accomodating and communicative host who lives downstairs. The stairs are steep and narrow but manageable if you take your time. We would gladly stay here again!

This is a great property for staying in Amsterdam. It is located in a quiet neighbourhood and well connected for public transport. Knock knock bakery nearby is a must visit! Martin was very communicative and helpful. Be aware that there are 4 flights of steep stairs to the apartment which wasn’t a problem for us and is no doubt typical of properties in Amsterdam.

Place was perfectly located to some of the best areas in Amsterdam. Easily walkable to anywhere if you are up for a scenic walk. But also very accessable to Metro. Place was very clean, quaint and comfortable. Exactly how it was described in the listing. Would absolutely stay again on another visit! The host was very responsive and helpful throughout.

Location great, but would warn people that there are 4 flights of steps to go up, and they are very narrow (typical of Amsterdam). The apartment is great, except stated had washing machine, couldn’t find it. But overall a great place close to all the buses and trams

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr ruhig gelegen, die Anbindung an die Öffis ist sehr gut. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter ist ausreichend.Die Wohnung ist zweckmäßig und sauber. Allerdings gehört in die Beschreibung, dass das Treppenhaus mehr als schmal, steil und eng ist. Der Vermieter hat uns 'viel Spaß mit den Treppen' gewünscht. Diese Aussage haben wir bezüglich unserer Koffer als sehr unpassend empfunden. Die Wohnung ist definitiv nichts für mobil eingeschränkte Menschen! In der Küche gibt es zwar einen Topf und eine Pfanne, nur leider keine Herdplatten. Das große Schlafzimmer ist durch eine Michglasscheibe mit dem Bad verbunden...ergo... geht der Zimmernachbar bei Dunkelheit mit Licht ins Bad, wird man durch das Licht unfreiwillig wach. Die Dusche ist unbrauchbar und auch in der Badewanne ist der Wasserhahn total undicht, so dass man zum Duschen wenig Wasser hat. An ein Bad war somit nicht zu denken. Wände und Fußboden sind zweckmäßig mit Bundlack bemalt. Die Wohngegend ist toll, buchen würden wir aus den genannten Gründen nicht wieder. 1000 Euro für fünf Tage stehen nicht im adäquaten Preis-, Leistungsverhältnis...

A home from home

Had a lovely 3 night stay with friends, the place is as advertised, clean & in a quiet neighbourhood. The location is perfect if you want to be out of the busy areas. Martijn’s communication was great & nothing was too much trouble!

Apartment by canal

The location was in a nice neighborhood, by a canal & within walking distance to several sites, like the Anne Frank House. Apartment was clean & bedding was comfortable. There’s lots of stairs, as noted, & they are extremely steep, spiraling & narrow making it difficult with luggage to get to third floor. The owner did help with luggage.

5 nights in Amsterdam

Property was lovely. Had everything you need for A short stay, comfy beds and plenty of room. Some thoughtful touches like having a library and keeping the guide books others have left was really helpful. Location was good for us. Not right in the centre but public transport is so good it was easy to get around. Apartment is not suitable for those with mobility issues due to steep stairs and no lift but we managed fine and we’re not exactly gazelles.

Steile Treppe

Eine ruhig gelegene Wohnung im 4. Stock eines Hauses im Amsterdamer Viertel Westerend. Zu Fuß ins lebendige Zentrum mit vielen Lokalen und Geschäften ( z. B. Prinsengraacht) in 15 Minuten. Bus- und Straßenbahn 5 Minuten. Entfernung zum HBF 2 km oder 30 Minuten. Originelle Wohnung unterm Dach, man hat das Gefühl, hier hat ein Hobbybastler den Dachboden ausgebaut. Die angebene separate Toilette befindet sich außerhalb der Wohnung im Treppenhaus. Die Wohnung ist schon etwas abgewohnt und könnte mal eine Teilrenovierung vertragen. Sehr steile und enge Treppe, für gehbehinderte Besucher eher schwierig zu meistern. Sehr netter Vermieter, der die Koffer alle hochgeschleppt hat.

48 hours with niece packing in all that Amsterdam has to offer ! Property was a perfect base for exploring - close enough to all the sights but also situated in a lovely, quieter area. The accomodation was clean and well presented with a responsive host

Fuimos a pasar 4 dias y la verdad es que no me lo esperaba para nada así de mal, para empezar las escaleras eran tan empinadas y estrechas que casi no se podia subir. Pero es que después de subir 3 pisos el apartamento estaba MUY SUCIO, todo lleno de povo de meses sin limpiar, la tostadora era imposible de meter pan de lo sucia y oxidada que estaba, el horno estaba lleno de grasa, las bombillas del comedor tenian tanto polvo por arriba que era horrible, aquello era un nido de ácaros, tuvimos que lavar olla y sartenes por que estaban pegadas, en la nevera media botella de agua abierta. Nunca habia estado en un apartamento tan dejado y sucio.

Great location and amenities

I highly recommend this location for a short visit in Amsterdam. The apartment was very clean and is walkable to local restaurants and bars, Amsterdam Centraal (about 35 min walk) the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseums, and more. Martijn was very friendly and available if we.needed him during our stay.

Great stay in quiet Jordaan

My husband and I enjoyed a great stay in a quiet neighborhood in Jordaan, not too far from the Anne Frank museum. Our apartment was spotless and the beds slept well. Our host was a great communicator and very accommodating with check-in and check-out.

Unterkunft ist gut für ein verlängertes Wochenende

Die Wohnung liegt nahe am Zentrum, zu Fuß ist alles gut zu erreichen. Sehr ruhige Lage am Wasser. Das Treppenhaus ist typisch für Amsterdam steil und eng! Die Wohnung sollte vielleicht mal ein bisschen rundüberneuert werden, ansonsten passt das für ein verlängertes Wochenende. Der Check-In klappte hervorragend, der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit!

Appartement parfait pour un séjour à Amsterdam

Cet appartement très propre et calme se trouve près du centre d'Amsterdam. Plusieurs commerces desservent le secteur, autant à pied qu'en vélo. Merci à Martijn qui fut un hôte accueillant et très serviable. Il nous a aidé à monter et descendre nos valises, ce que nous avons grandement apprécié.

Great location, helpful host

Exactly what we needed. Clean, comfortable, good beds. Location made for a nice walk (or short tram ride) to everything we wanted to see. Martijn was a great host. We especially appreciated him allowing an early drop-off of bags and then taking our VERY heavy bags up the stairs for us before we returned. Would definitely stay there again.

Great sleep and go VRBO

This is a very clean and pristine little apartment. The host lives right below, so that makes the check-in process easy. The beds are very comfortable and bigger than I thought they would be- one room has a king and the other seems like a queen. There is one full bathroom with a tub and separate shower and one 1/2 bath in the hall by the entrance door. This was very workable in our group of 4 (2 couples). The kitchen had coffee available and a little area with seating but it is really not for cooking at home if that is what you are looking for. It was not a big deal to us because we were out everyday and only came home to sleep and shower. I will say the stairs are serious business. They are steep and plentiful (54 in all). Now maybe 54 sounds easy, but lugging suitcases (thankfully the host brought ours up) and the actual boards being so narrow and spiral in a way, it was tough. Be aware. You will need a breather after coming up and check your heart rate coming down because they are steep. The apartment is quite a ways out from the heart of the city and the canals make for a bit of a walk to get around, but the busses and trains help. All in all, it was a great stay. The place was spotless and we loved that!
