Good Stay

The room was as advertised and clean. At first I was concerned about the sleeper sofa, but it was comfortable. Communication with the host was very good, they always responded promptly to my questions. Loved the town of Monnickendam and it was easy to get to Amsterdam via the bus.

Small efficiency in darling town with AC!

Small, but fairly comfy and huge bonus of air conditioners! We hit the hottest days in the year. The property manager greeted us and showed us how to operate the beds and where everything was. She helped us figure the busses etc. it’s a little out of the way to the bus stop so luggage was a bit more difficult, but the town is so darling and we had a great meal!

Très bon séjour. Le village de Monnickendam est très joli et reposant. Par contre il n'y a pas 3 chambres mais un canapé dépliant dans le salon et une mezzanine accessible via une échelle...De plus si on dort dans le salon, celui-ci est mitoyen au café de la propriétaire et il y a beaucoup de bruit jusque 3h du matin les week-ends....

Erholsames Idyll mit guter Erreichbarkeit zum Stadtleben

Für unsere Familie mit Hund war es sehr entspannt in diesem Ort. Weg vom Großstadtleben konnten wir uns erholen und bei Bedarf mit dem Bus in die Stadt fahren. Dies war sehr einfach. In dem Ort gibt es auch einen total tollen Bäcker und weitere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, welche alle auch zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Die Ferienwohnung ist für eine 5 Köpfige Familie gut nutzbar. Allerdings nicht zu lang, da sie ein Platzsparwunder ist. Wir hatten unseren Spaß damit. Einziger Hinweis: in dem Elternschlafzimmer kommt der Tabakrauch der Kneipe manchmal durch.

Outside the hustle & bustle of Amsterdam

In planning our trip to Amsterdam, I encountered some challenges finding a reasonable accommodation for our family of 5, within a reasonable distance of Amsterdam proper. I happened across this property in lovely Monnickendam, which exceeded our expectations. It was a reasonable trip on public transit from all the sights of Amsterdam, and provided us with a peaceful, quiet place to enjoy evenings and rest after a busy day. As a bonus, there were great restaurants and other amenities available, within a short walk of our apartment.

Monickendam est un endroit authentique assez proche d Amsterdam Quelques commerces ouvert et les canaux et la mer toute proche. L accueil par Monique étais très sympathique,celle ci parle très bien français Les instructions sont claire sur le logement et comment se rendre a Amsterdam. Seul point négatif le logement manque de lumière naturelle Bon séjour aux prochains voyageurs !

Es war wunderbar. Architektonische Gestalt und Ausstattung sorgen für Freude. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und kommen gern wieder. Monnickendam ist ein charmantes Städtchen. Amsterdam ist gut zu erreichen.

Unique house in a sweet town

My family and I had such a pleasant stay at this house and Monnickendam. The house is clean, narrow and very unique in its layout. Has plenty of charm and the kids loved the elevating bed and loft area. Has everything you need. The host was super easy to communicate with and was very helpful when we first arrived. We flew overseas and landed here first. It was the best way to enter into the Netherlands. Peaceful, beautiful, quiet little village that offers good restaurants and gelato you want to eat every night! Just bring ear plugs as the church bells ring nearby. I’m pretty sensitive to noise at night but it didn’t bother me too much and was able to sleep through it. Overall, I would highly recommend this place and will dream of coming back again. 🥰

Idyllisches Wohnen vor den Toren Amsterdams

Die stilvoll eingerichtete Wohnung bot uns einen schönen Aufenthalt für ein Wochenende mit Besuchen in Amsterdam. Der idyllische Ort mit einem kleinen Hafen lädt zu Spaziergängen ein. Mit dem Bus (314,316) gelangt man bequem zum Bahnhof von Amsterdam. Die Vermieter waren freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Die gut eingerichtete Küche bietet Möglichkeiten zur Selbstverpflegung, allerdings fehlt ein Backofen. Zeitweise waren nachts Geräusche der angrenzenden Bar zu hören. Ideal für Familien!

Perfekt

Wir haben 3 sehr schöne Tage in dem kleinen Haus von Monique in dem charmanten Monnickendam verbracht. Das Haus liegt sehr zentral, ist sehr hübsch renoviert und bietet auch einer 4-köpfigen Familie ausreichend Platz. Die Kommunikation mit Monique war perfekt. Einen Parpklatz haben wir ohne Probleme in der Nähe der Unterkunft gefunden. Wir empfehlen die Unterkunft sehr gerne weiter.

Sensationeller Urlaub

Es war ein super Urlaub. Die Lage und das Haus waren ein Traum. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war nett und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns in diesem kleinen Ort sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen aufjedenfall wieder. Das Haus war sehr sauber und der Platz optimal genutzt. Vielen Dank 😊

This place is wonderful!!

Our family absolutely loved staying in this property! The town is picturesque and everyone we met was beyond friendly. My husband and I have already discussed returning as soon as possible. Monique was extremely friendly and helpful when she met us to let us in the property. She was very organized with information and maps. The property had everything we needed and was very close to Amsterdam. Super clean and beautifully appointed interior and beds were very comfortable. My children had to take turns sleeping in the adorable loft, as they all wanted to stay in this cozy little space. I can’t say enough great things about this place, Monique, and Jeroen. We absolutely will be back.

Clean and cosy property in pretty little town

Good things - Monnickendam is a beautiful little town with a lovely clock tower and a heron often met us in the middle of the high street. The very fast and regular bus service gets you to Amsterdam in 15 minutes. There is a great supermarket nearby and great local restaurants too. This unusual property was very clean and warm. Not so good - the property is very small and would not suit two couples if you want privacy. It also backs onto a bar and the taking/music disturbed us on our fist night. We asked the bar owners (and accommodation owners) to turn this down and they did do that for the next 2 nights.
