The apartment is ideally located in the desirable Dorsoduro district, a very short walk to the Gallerie dell'Accademia and Peggy Guggenheim museums, the Accademia Bridge and vaporetto stop, a market, restaurants, and less than 10 minutes' walk to St. Mark's Square.
Yet the apartment was a refuge from the hustle-bustle of Venice--quiet, light, airy, and overlooking gardens. It was as pictured, attractively decorated and comfortable, although the sofa was a bit hard for my wife and myself for a week’s stay.
Mattia, the owner, was gracious and helpful and--most important--very communicative at all stages of our stay, from initial inquiry to departure. He even met us in front of the Gallerie dell’Accademia to escort us to the apartment after we texted him our confusion regarding directions. (I highly recommend getting WhatsApp for communicating with people outside your home country regardless of your own international cell plan.)
Overall, our experience with the apartment and the owner was very positive.
