We were sorry to hear that the layout of the house, particularly the bathrooms, were not to your liking. We hope to avoid disappointments such as this by providing an abundance of photos on our website. We appreciate knowing about the ants and are informing our pest control company. Thank you for taking time to leave your review. We are sincerely sorry that there was an issue with an offensive smell during your stay at the Hudson House. Immediately following your stay, it was discovered that the main sewer line coming into the house from the city line was damaged. This has been corrected and there is no longer any smell. While it is true, we had no other open properties to move you to, we did find you other accommodations at local hotels and offered to refund all unused nights with us. Your choice was to stay at the house and take a refund for your inconvenience. Therefore, we find it surprising that you would leave a review that would lead readers to surmise that we did nothing more than offer a small refund for your trouble. Again, we are terribly sorry that your vacation was impacted by the sewer smell. But please remember that this was something beyond our control and we did our best to make this right for you.

Thank you so much for taking time to leave us your review. We are happy that you found the house to be beautiful and you enjoyed being right on the beach. However, we are so sorry to hear of your issues with the landscaping team. After some research, it appears that the owner actually contracted for some annual work to be performed on the home that we didn’t know about. If we had been aware, we would have rescheduled or given you notice. The owner of this property goes to great lengths to make sure his property is in tip top shape inside and out for each guest, and we apologize that this work was done during your stay. As for the problems on the beach, this home’s beach area extends to the Mean High Water Line. Beyond that point is public domain. Okaloosa County Sheriff Department does not tolerate public drunkenness and we encourage guests to contact the Sherriff’s Department if they witness unruly behavior on the beach. Again, we appreciate your comments as it helps us be proactive in anticipating the needs of future guests and we apologize for any inconvenience you may have endured. Please allow us the opportunity to host you and your family again in the future.
