This perfect bungalow is footsteps away from the flair and thoroughfare that make Magazine Street a wonder. Walk to the city’s best bars, galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and live music. Whether you’re in for a festival, enjoying a romantic getaway or want to be in the heart of it all without all the hassles of a downtown hotel, our historic cottage is painstakingly renovated so you have an easy, nearby, spotless, comfortable place to rest your head at the end of a long day in the city!

The space
You’ll have a fully private suite with a private entrance. The tastefully decorated queen bedroom features an ensuite bathroom with marble counters and a jetted Jacuzzi tub. In the generously stocked kitchenette, you’ll find a fridge, microwave and Keurig machine. A few extras: walk-in closet; luxury linens, salon shampoos, plus the little things you might have forgotten to pack. We’ve also equipped the room with a high-def TV including Netflix, Hulu, and other bingeable options (but who needs that when you’ve got NOLA to watch?)

This belle maison was originally constructed in 1860 and then lovingly completely updated in 2008. The work was deemed worthy of the Honor Award from the New Orleans Historic Districts Landmarks Commission shortly thereafter.

This was an amazing stay. We enjoyed the neighborhood. We felt safe and encountered no issues here. It was very clean and well stocked. Parking is easy and we were able to park right across the street in front of the building.

Great location, great experience!

Me and my wife were in town to visit new orleans. We both have lived here years ago and both agree the location was perfect. The room was clean and we had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The host, Judy, was on it! Would gladly stay here again. In fact, we are hoping the next time we come to new orleans we will be able to stay here again.

My husband and I had a great stay at Judy's place. It was spotless, wonderful fluffy towels and comfy bed. The kitchenette served us fine for coffee and breakfast. The location is great for walking to Juan's Flying Burrito, Gris Gris, and Jewels Bodegas on Magazine Street. The lower garden district was a bit further from the French Quarter than we thought, so we ubered there and to the Riverwalk. The best part of the stay was Judy herself. She was so helpful, kind and pleasant. She answered all our questions and shared great tips for enjoying New Orleans. I recommend this VRBO for a relaxing stay!

Jazz Fest/vacation 2025

Judy’s place was the perfect spot for our 1 week stay. Size and location were exactly what we were looking for. This sweet studio with a petite kitchenette and closet provided enough space for us and our belongings for the week, but was so much more! Seriously, Judy thought of everything her guests could need/want when they’re away from home. The bed, with its luxurious sheets, pillows, and blankets to the sizable bathroom with a long vanity (I always appreciate having a good amount of space to place our toiletries down) and deep jetted tub had us feeling relaxed every night we came back and refreshed every day we headed out. The remote blackout shades and the air conditioner split ensured we slept well. So many thoughtful touches, I can go on and on, but you’ll have to see for yourselves. What I will say is Judy is such a super host! From beginning to end communicating with Judy was easy and seamless. She really cares about her guests’ experience, we felt it. We even got to meet her and her friend right as we were loading our vehicle to head home and it confirmed how thoughtful and kind she is. We look forward to coming back and hopefully staying at Judy’s pad again!

1st Trip to New Orleans

Judy was an amazing host! Organized, thoughtful and welcoming. This space was perfect for a solo traveler who had never been to New Orleans. It was clean, convenient for walking and well stocked with the little details that are often forgotten. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, comfortable studio

This was a great space to spend a few days in a quieter neighborhood. The owner communicated promptly and was available for questions. The studio is well furnished and stocked with coffee and tea. The bathroom is really nice, it's spacious and there were extra toiletries in case we forgot anything. The blackout shades and white noise machine made sleep very comfortable. We enjoyed walking around on Magazine Street and caught the streetcar a few blocks away to get to the French Quarter.

Adorable Stay

This was a perfect place for my husband and me. We were in for a quick 2 night trip. Couldn't have asked for a more convenient location... walkable to restaurants and shops. Not a big place, but it had everything we needed.

Best & most unique visit to New Orleans

Somehow I picked the weekend of New Orleans' historic snowfall. Eight inches, and I was somehow optimistic that it would quickly melt. Wrong! But Judy saved the day, thank you Judy! The Luxury Suite was as promised and more. We found our way, parked and hoofed it the remainder of our stay. The perfect retreat after hours and hours of walking, eating, sightseeing and of course drinking. We were so pleased with these accommodations, we will have to come back!

A Hidden Gem Close To All New Orleans Has To Offer

Judy was an excellent host. Several things that were out of her control happened during our stay and she was such a help through it all. My husband called her the “Queen Of Amenities” because everything you may have needed was there. Excellent location. We walked to the street car in less than 10 minutes. The RTA app was really helpful as we navigated public transportation. Overall, this rental was just what we needed for our last minute stay for NYE in New Orleans. Judy is definitely a host that cares about her guest and not just the rental income. Highly recommended for those looking for a separate space that feels like a place of your own.

Truly a five star experience

It was a pleasure staying at Judy’s studio! She made the process seamless and we truly had everything we could have asked for waiting for us there, from snacks, to makeup wipes to a steamer. It was also in the cutest part of town and we could walk or take public transit to anywhere we wanted to go! When I go back to New Orleans, this is where I’ll be staying!

Fantastic Getaway

Judy’s place was super cute on the inside and spotless! The location was unbeatable. We could walk basically anywhere (food, drinks, more food, shopping, etc). We felt safe in the area and slept very well with the provided white noise machine. We had a great trip and would absolutely stay here again in the future!

Superb studio

A bit off Magazine, this charming studio is a refreshing oasis. Lovely, clean and comfortable, it's an ideal retreat from the hot weather and noise of the city. Decor is tasteful, the bedroom is adorable and the small touches make this accommodation one of the best we've stayed in. Hope to return here soon!

I was born and raised in South Louisiana and absolutely love New Orleans! We recently moved here to be closer to family, but have traveled the world and wouldn't rather be anywhere else - the music, festivals, laissez faire attitude, and liveliness of this city is like no other! I've worked in the design industry my entire career and am very attune to detail, cleanliness, presentation and comfort. We love meeting new people, but will most certainly give you privacy.

The location of our home could not be more perfect in the heart of the historic Lower Garden District!!! We're tucked only steps away from Magazine Street, which is engulfed in local food, coffee, bars and boutique shopping; however, we're also just steps away from Downtown and the French Quarter. If you want a local, clean, comfortable experience that is close enough to any New Orleans activity, you've found the perfect place.

Our historic home is in the Lower Garden District with a walk score of 97 out of 100. You have your own entrance to a studio apartment with a small kitchenette (no sink), private bathroom, and luxurious bed. There's a keypad on the door so you don't have to rely on us, but we live on site. Your studio is completely independent of our home and we hope you enjoy the location as much as we do. (No shared space, the spaces do not connect) Free street parking is plentiful most days!
