Summary:

This beachy cottage with 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms is in a prime location on Balboa Peninsula Point. On this quiet, charming area of the Balboa Peninsula, the beaches are within walking distance of every home. This light and airy home is perfect for your next family beach vacation. Close to the Balboa Pier and the Fun Zone, this home has it all!

The garage is not for guest use, the spot on the street directly in front of the garage is available for guests to park in.



The Space:

Welcome to Peninsula Point! This spacious one-story home, located in a quiet, residential area is within easy walking distance of Balboa Pier. Plenty of cozy seating in the living area and an enclosed side patio with a BBQ make the home a comfortable option for families looking for a more out-of-the-hustle and bustle rental.



Enter into a large, split living area with a couch, which folds out into a sleeper, and built-in bench seating on one side and, on the other side, two loveseats and a colorful bench on the other.



The light, bright dining room has a large oval table and six chairs. Just beyond, the updated kitchen has more than ample counter and storage space for serving up family meals.



The first bedroom is just off the kitchen with a closet and an adjacent newly remodeled full bath. The middle bedroom has a queen bed, the back bedroom a king with a half bath in the hallway between. The back bedroom has a sliding glass door to access a rear deck. The sofa sleeper in the living area turns into a queen bed.



Soak in the sunshine from three outdoor patios. The elevated front deck at the entry has a table and chairs for enjoying bay breezes. The side patio just off the kitchen has a gas barbecue. The back patio off the bedroom is unfurnished, but allows for lovely, cool airflow.



The garage is not available to guests street parking is almost always available. The spot on the street directly parallel to the garage door can be parked in.



Stroll to the sand for an afternoon of beach fun or walk on the sand or boardwalk, which begins a few blocks away, to the Balboa Pier area for an array of shopping and dining options. Stop at Cabo Cantina for happy hour margaritas or Harborside for seafood and views of the bay.



Win classic carnival prizes at the Arcade and ride the Ferris wheel at The Fun Zone or cast a line off Balboa Pier and fuel up with burgers or salads at Ruby’s retro diner. The ferry ride to Balboa Island takes just minutes and opens up a whole new set of shopping and dining options.

The out of town family solution....

Was able to put up visiting family from East Cast into a very NICE rental 2 blocks from my home on the Balboa Peninsula. Perfect experience and far better than the hotel option. THANK YOU!

Amazing location

Only a 2 min walk to the beach and a fun front porch to enjoy a cup of coffee. The outdoor shower was great for our teenage boys when we would come in from the beach. Beds were comfy, seating was great for our family of 5.

Place was great! Would definitely recommend!

We had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone. Other reviews were concerned Of the construction nearby but we didn’t have any issues with the noise. Beds were comfortable. Beach was next door, and nearby food / shopping was just a 5-10 min walk. Great location!

My family and I have been coming here for the past 9 years and each year is better than the last! If I have to complain about something it would be for the cleaners to pay close attention to the amount of dust on the walls in the bedrooms.

This time, upon arrival, the house was filthy. We had to spend the first few hours cleaning the property. Even after the maid service came, the home was gross. I’m not sure how much you pay for the cleaning service, but I would like to have my cleaning fee refunded. Seems very unfair that I paid for a service that I didn’t receive. It’s disgraceful that I was forced to spend any amount of my vacation time on cleaning the home just to make it in a livable state. It’s theft that I be charged for a service I didn’t receive. Again, the property was filthy and I spent several hours of my time cleaning the property!

Perfect Beach Stay

We had such a wonderful trip as a family! The house was adorable, clean and comfortable for our 6 family members. Bedroom #1 has a comfortable king sized bed, bedroom #2 and 3 have comfortable Queen sized beds. There is a queen sized pull out couch bed in the living room. The house is well stocked with enough dishes, pots, pans, dish soap, etc. The coffee pot is drip type. There were a few beach chairs and umbrellas for guest use. The location is phenomenal! Just steps to the beach or bay and only a 15 minute walk to the pier and fun zone. We had a great time!

Beautiful home and location.. but a lot of construction.

The home was beautiful, location was great but in the listing they advertised 2 king bedrooms and 1 queen. However when we arrived we discovered there was 2 queen bedrooms and 1 king. When I informed the management company they acted confused and told me the pull out couch was a king which it wasn't either. They need to update the listing. The house looked very clean when we arrived but after a few mins of being there our kids feet were black from the floors. The sheets provided by the linen company were ripping and peeling and needed to be thrown out. The towels were also awful. The house needs a deep clean including the furniture, it all felt a bit dirty and you didn't really want to sit on the couch. I asked ahead of time if there was construction since I had read another review and the management company told me they weren't sure. The management company is located about a mile or two up the road they could of checked. Anyways the house next door is under construction and the whole street and sidewalk directly outside the property is under construction and the workers took up must of the parking and were very loud. Most of the time we could only use the side door to get in and out of the property. You couldn't enjoy the front deck because there were workers and constant noise. Overall the location felt safe and the house was cute. I think the house needs a deep clean, management company needs to find a new linen provider, and update the listing regarding the bedrooms.

Great location

We loved how close this was to the beach even though we stayed there in the winter. Our kids still begged to go to the beach and it was nice that is was so close as we could spend just a short amount of time there and not have to make an entire day out of it.

Reviewer Comments: Hello,First I would like to express how much it saddens me to have to type this email. I have been staying at 129 G. street for the past eight years. My family and I look forward to our stay here every year. However this visit hasn't been too well. I just want to point out the obvious that we work hard to be able to afford this rental for a week straight and this time for nine days. For the amount it cost to stay here for a week, I can pay my own mortgage for three months! So with that being said, I would expect the house to be clean! You charge a cleaning fee and yet we arrived to water bottles under the bed and a thick coating of dust on the walls above the bed (see attachments). We did not know that we would get a 7a.m. wake up call every morning to the tune of construction next door. This wouldn't be so much of a problem, if they weren't dropping rusted nails and screws over the fence (see attachments) right where my kids wash off from the beach just in the right spot for someone to step on. This is just beyond wrong. The dishwasher has not worked this entire time, so after getting tired of washing dishes on my vacation, I decided to buy paper plates and plastic forks. There are ants literally everywhere, and keeping the trash cans by the front patio not only stinks, but the flies are ridiculous! it's just upsetting what we are dealing with when we are supposed to be relaxing. This house has always been a special place to us and to see it so unkept and with such disregard as to whose visiting saddens me. Again, we are only conveying our thoughts so this place will be as magical to the next family as it was for us. We only hope that this house can remain one of the hidden gems of Balboa, and is maintained in the way it so deserves!

Great beach house

This was my first VRBO. Nice place. Perfect for the 4 of us, as each teenager got their own room. I was worried about being too far from the beach or wanting a beach view, but I can say this is VERY close the the beach (300 ft) yet cheaper than being on the beach, and more private. I’d highly recommend being off the beach as the beach has a big dirt burm that prevents you from seeing the ocean anyway. One bathroom sink wasn’t clean when we got there. There were lots of ants in the kitchen but it looked like a known issue as the owners had placed lots of ant traps. Construction noise next door was only a problem on Monday and Tuesday of our 5 day stay. Kinda far down the peninsula, which means 5-10 minutes added to your drives, but also means you’re farther from the hustle/bustle/commercial areas, which is way nice. Kitchen was nice. Grilling on the back patio was nice. Grill has a smoker side which could be useful. Highly recommend.

Good house, but terrible noise

The actual house is very nice, but very basic. Would be nice to have some beach towels and chairs accessible to us. Other places we have stayed on the peninsula have these items available, along with some basic kitchen starters. The cleaning fee seems high considering we had to make our beds upon arriving and there was an ant problem in the kitchen. The main issue was the construction next door. The first morning at 7am, the hammering and saws went off. The house next door is being built and it is within five feet of the back of this house. The noise was obnoxious and went on all day. Every day, there was more sawdust and nails that were dropped along the back of the house where we would need to go to hose off after the beach and enter the back door. The bikes which were stored off the back and were always covered in sawdust. The decks which were very cute and nice were unusable because of the sawdust and nails. The management company was good to work with but I think this should be disclosed for any future customer. It is obvious that this will be going on for weeks on end - at least. The noise in the morning and the close proximity of the house was very irritating. If it had not been for the construction, I would rate this house much higher.

Awesome Getaway

As California natives who were looking to leave the cold and enjoy the beach, this spot was so nice! The location was perfect and it wasn’t too small for our family of 5. We would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

January Stay

Lovely place. Beds comfy, short walk to the beach, roomy, clean. Construction next door was a nuisance though, rather ironic that we are asked to keep noise levels down when the hammering begins at 7:30. Oh well. Would definitely stay again. Newport Beach is an amazing place. I would highly recommend whale watching.
