Could not have been more pleased with our rental in the old church. All the small things are included. We had a wonderful time and the rental proceed to be a great location for exploring the area. I would happily recommend it. We fit two families comfortably and had a couple of memorable nights coming in and enjoying our after dinner drinks in the belfry.

I took my daughter, son-in-law and three adult grandchildren to the castle for six days in August. The facility was a "princess dream" for my two grand-daughters and we all kind of pinched our republican arms every morning at the opulence that nobility enjoyed. As might be expected from a building that has "bones" going back to the 16th Century, there are challenges with adapting modern amenities. WiFi has trouble penetrating thick stone walls, for instance and controlling the temperature of water can lead to surprises. There is a huge amount of space dedicated to socialization or to get alone if you prefer. While we did daily road trips around southern Scotland, it was always a delight to pull into the (long) driveway and see our castle waiting. With all the hiking and biking trails just out the door, we could have easily spent all our time there. We very much enjoyed the kitchen, which is quite ample and well equipped. And having an en suite bathroom with every bedroom was ideal for the six of us.
