Öppna dörren till den lilla skaka stugan för att hitta en helt ny, men varm och vĂ€lkomnande 2 sovrum, 1 bad stuga. Promenera, köra eller cykla 1. 1 miles till downtown Mentone! Inga husdjur och rökfria.
Faciliteterna inkluderar ett komplett kök med alla nya fullstor apparater, inklusive spis, kylskÄp, inbyggd mikrovÄgsugn och diskmaskin! Det finns en Àt i frukostbar för 3 och ett extra ÀtomrÄde för 2 personer. Av köket steg utanför till baksidan veranda dÀck som förlÀnger lÀngden pÄ stugan. Relaxing Oasis

The cabin and surrounding property were beautiful. It’s truly one of the few VRBO vacation rentals where I have been able to completely relax and unwind. The host is so thoughtful and very responsive. Mentone is a gorgeous little town with some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I hope to be able to return soon!

This cozy cottage in the woods was perfect for our relaxing getaway. It’s close to town but feels very private. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and we really enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. The host had great communication with us and made us feel at home. Highly recommend!

After having visited the Mentone area for many years, the owners, Claudia and Robert bought four acres acres on North Scenic Drive and built the first “MountainWood Cottage”. They broke ground in April of 2016 and the cottage was complete and ready to rent in February of 2017. The first cottage is called “Hitherside”. They wanted to create the ideal cottage by taking notes and learning from their past experiences with vacation rentals in the area. Topping the priority list was putting a king size bed in the bedroom with hotel style sheets and having a decent size bathroom with a shower/ tub combo and adequate space. Seclusion and privacy were also important without being too remote and far from Desoto state park, the falls, Little river canyon and the eating areas in Mentone. It was also essential to build our cottages in an area where WE HAVE CELL SERVICE! Another priority was to make the cottage as energy efficient and eco-friendly as possible.

Hitherside was custom built as if we were going to live in it. For your short stay, we want you to feel as if it is YOUR home. Be our guest and enjoy visiting all year round. We manage the property ourselves. This is not managed by an internet property management company, property manager or realtor! Our reviews are REAL and when you call us, you are calling our personal phone. We believe in treating our guests like family.

Each season has its own beauty. Winter is a quiet time but you can settle in at night with the fire burning and sleep in the giant king size bed under a warm down comforter. The wind blows cold but there is a quiet beauty in the surroundings. Spring and summer mean everything is green and comes to life again. It’s a great time to hike the woods and visit the parks. Autumn means stunning color and it is probably our favorite times of year in Mentone. We hope you enjoy Mentone as much as we have. As the Irish say: “Cead Mile Failte!”

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Get away from noise of the world and listen to the wind in the trees, the rustling of the leaves, and the distant train. Wake up to nature not the cabin next door! Nap in the hammock at the pond and hear the pileated woodpeckers laugh and the frogs singing.
You will enjoy the feeling of seclusion while being only 1 mile from downtown Mentone. Guests can either drive drive, walk or cycle to the center of Mentone as well as many of the attractions such as Desoto State Park, and Little River Falls. Because of our location you are also only a short distance from Cloudland State Park in Georgia and the Hang-gliding park in Rising Fawn. Chattanooga is only a 45 minute drive with Ruby falls and other attractions.
