Cute and easy to get around

Cute house in gated community. Well kept however I felt the cleaning service could have done better wiping doors. There was foundation and mascara on bathroom door. Dryer does not dry well at all. But that could be overlooked because the rest of the rental was kept up well with really comfortable furniture.

Online description is very accurate. House has everything you need. The golf cart was fantastic. There were a few minor hiccups but the property manager was great and super responsive.

Very Nice house

Nice new house. Spacious downstairs. Nice backyard. Comfortable beds. Dealt with a few ants in the kitchen, but overall very clean. Having the golf cart was key to get to the beach and pool.

Perfect

The property was perfect for our extended family. Plenty of cookware, dishes, and entertainment opportunities both at the property and in the community. The only issue was the heating element in the dryer did not work so clothes did not dry in the dryer.

Exactly like the photos - maybe better

Check in was super easy and it was a nice surprise to see a place that was as good or better than the photos. Lots of room and great amenities. The pool was not heated so we didn't use it (it was December). We did pay to use the golf cart and that was nice to just zip to the beach or around a little. We called maintenance once for a teeny tiny issue that wasn't urgent and they were on it so fast and so professional and followed up to make sure we were happy etc. I was so surprised. They also are great with texting so if you have any questions. you can just text and you will have an answer in like 5 minutes. All the beds were big and comfortable and the linens were good quality. The beach is super close (walkable) and there is a cafe at the end of the street (and a Dairy Queen \which was pleasing for the kiddos). The kitchen had all the utensils and small appliances. you would need (the only thing that might be helpful would be some form of tupperware type containers but thats only if you need to store something while you are there. You can tell the crew that maintains the building is on top of things. Greenest grass on the cul-de-sac. I would definitely stay here again.

Great Experience

Everything was great, but in one of the bedrooms, there was hair all over the bed. It was also located in one of the showers. The cleaning crew should do a better job of checking for that. Overall the stay was great! There was plenty of space for our families. Would definitely rent this place again.

Great house with a great location

This property was a great place to make memories with my family. The house was in great shape. We had a problem with the gas grill, we called and they brought out a brand new one the next morning! They were prompt on any questions or concerns. The beach was beautiful for all ages. The neighborhood was quite which made sitting in the back yard relaxing great. I will definitely use this property again.

Beautiful Home Minor Adjustments Needed

The home was newer and very big. Plenty of space for our 6 guest. Located in a nice neighborhood. A two minute ride from the beach, 7-10 minutes from the Destin Commons. The beds in the bunk room could use replacing. Housekeeping could also do a better job with cleaning the property. The golf cart was a great bonus to ride to the beach and shops. It was difficult to get the key box open for the golf cart and the code was not on the instruction sheet. I would stay at the property again if the minor things mentioned were addressed.

Flaw in service but absolutely beautiful property

I never received my access code after multiple calls I still wasn’t able to contact anyone. By this time I am extremely upset because we arrived at the property and me and my family had to wait some hours before we finally connected to real joy and we was granted access. The property was gorgeous and very clean which made up for the communication issues.

Penelope Palms - nice place

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. House was clean and in nice shape. It was about the right amount of space for 10 (4 adults, 5 teens, and one 5yr old)...located on a cul-de-sac that was pretty quiet. Hollywood Drive beach entrance is a 10-15 ish min walk...golf cart was great for hauling the gear and younger kid...we mainly hung out at the beach near the Hollywood Drive private entrance...closest parking for the cart after dropping everyone off is near Pompano Joe's, which is a 10 min walk via the beach. Parking in the public lot can be a bit of a cluster...people please know you can fit two golf carts in one parking spot! Washer and Dryer seemed to maybe need a tune up? Freezer leaked a bit (defrost drain is plugged?). RealJoy property managers were very quick to respond to any questions we had.

Gorgeous & Comforting Stay!

Our stay at Penelope was amazing. We enjoyed it so much it literally felt like our home away from home. Management made it so easy from the moment of booking, until the very last minute of our stay. They made sure to provide all information needed to access the home with no trouble, the best part was that they were super responsive when a question was asked. The actual property was, magnificent. It was so beautiful, we were memorized when we first opened the door. It was eight of us ladies, and we had a blast when glam hour came around. We had plenty of bathroom space. Another was that no one had to fight for a bed,and after a nine hour drive from Houston we were WINNING so that was a big plus! The kitchen MUST be used!! We had breakfast twice, as well as dinner. It would've been wrong if we didn't utilize that beautiful space. BIG PLUS... It perfectly equipped! The only bump was we didn't find a wine opener.. lol (no big deal) Neighborhood felt safe, and the beach was extremely close! I would definitely recommend to stay at Penelope Palms. Thank you for making our "Girls Trip" worth the drive!

Spring Break

House overall was good. We had trouble with the freezer leaking because the fridge doors weren't latching - they responded quickly when we called and were excellent to work with. We had to contact them for the golf cart key code and there was barely any gas in it (we left it full). There were some minor things broken which we pointed out when property mgr was there. Shower in the main floor bath leaks (looks like the seal doesn't go all the way along the glass door). There were some light bulbs out. Propane tank in the fire pit was empty. The rooms all had a fan/white noise which was a nice touch. Walk to the beach was not far, wish we'd known there were beach chairs (they were better than ours, we wouldn't have hauled ours from MI had we known). Liked having the small fridge in the garage, it was helpful. There may have been a smoker at some point, it was subtle however (no one else noticed). The teens loved playing the corn hole game and visited the pool often (wish it was open later than 8PM). It was nice to have food choices (& shopping) close and 2 restaurants right on the beach!

Beautiful home!! A few issues, adjustments needed!!

We thought the house was really beautiful; we loved the space of the rooms and closet and restrooms. However. , We did have a rough start. The following are items that we had issues with: -Several outlets do not work- upstairs and downstairs -Dishwasher did not dispense the soap, -Toaster, only one side works -Roaches/water bugs and ants were a problem, we found them for about 3 days, we did call and pest control came out -AC didn’t work the first day -Communication to address problems with the property manager/owner was extremely difficult and frustrating, we were on hold every time we called -We had to buy the basic stuff, sponge to wash dishes, trash bags, only 2 were provided, same with toilet paper -no directions of golf cart key, Had to call for that and was on hold for a while -toilet paper handle in main restroom is broken -patio door knob came out from the outside, it had some type of plastic holding it in -no dust pan and no vacuum -living rug needs to be cleaned, I think previous guests had a big dog, lots of dog hair Lastly and our biggest complaint, we arrived pretty early last Saturday, we Tried to check in early, as we always have in the past in the 7 years we’ve been vacationing here, but were told that work needed to be done until 4pm. We then asked if we could leave our stuff in garage and they didn’t let us, because they said work was being done in there too. We know that nothing was done and it was just an excuse not to allow early check in, because they would have noticed the AC issue upstairs and that could have been resolved in that time while we waited instead of 9pm when it finally cooled off upstairs. We just hope that this helps you guys make some adjustments for the next guest. Thank you.

Great Stay

Very nice property. Quiet neighborhood. Stayed here with adults and children. Loved the backyard for the kids. Easy access to public beach. Would recommend the private beach access- public can get crowded. Easy to shopping- restaurants. Only issue was dryer- poor drying and would not shut off. Golf cart was a plus except issue with lights at night. Let the property manager know about the issues I’m sure they will address them. I would recommend this property to all and will look forward to booking again.

Great vacation!

We love the house and layout. We had a few glitches with the dryer but someone was sent out the same day to fix it. Overall we had a great stay! We definitely utilized the golf cart...the walk was a bit far with small children. Very clean!
