Detta tre sovrum radhus byggdes i början av 1900-talet, men det fick en ansiktslyftning i december 2018. Med alla moderna bekvämligheter kan du koppla av hemma eller köra ut se sevärdheterna. Tunnelbanan ligger bara ett kvarter bort! Två stora livsmedelsbutiker är mycket nära (Harris Teeter ligger inom ett kvarter). USA. Capitol är 14 kvarter bort - du kan gå, hoppa på en buss, Uber / Lyft, eller ta tunnelbanan. Det har också ett eget garage, en sällsynthet på Capitol Hill. Gå ut ur dörren och staden väntar, och efter en lång dag med utforskning, slappna av i ditt nya hem hemifrån. Det är det perfekta huset för din stadsutforskning!

Det finns en fast hyresgäst som bor i källaren av huset som också hanterar underhållet av huset. Tillgång till hans bostad är på bakgården så att du får se honom komma och åka tillbaka dit då och då. Han kan inte komma in i hyresdelen av huset från sitt rum och han använder inte några bekvämligheter eller apparater i huvudhuset, så hyra är helt privat.

For us - location, location, location…!

Metro so handy, Safeway even handier! So nice after a long day of walking to return to a comfortable, quiet neighborhood and enjoy sitting on the patio with beverage of choice and dinner snacks. The Pretzel Bakery and Eastern Market are a must!

Great location, great stay

Very much pleased with Alec and the stay at the house. Pro tip: If you never have to contact your host during a 7-night stay to address even the most minor of issues, there's a high probability that they have met or exceeded your expectations, which was the case here. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Great location for seeing DC for the first time

The property was inviting, clean, and we loved the back patio. Parking was a breeze. Metro was so close and easy to navigate. Alec answered all our questions prior to visiting AND even surprised us with a Keurig when I asked if one was in the kitchen. Perfect for a multigenerational family vacation.

Cute home

Cute home. It’s an older row house that has had some updates. Cute neighborhood and grocery store is just about a block away as well as metro. So convenient! Only complaint is that when we booked on the main page it stated there was a queen bed in the living room so of course we assume a pullout sofa. The livingroom queen bed is an air mattress which I feel was misleading so my 17yr old had to sleep on the sofa.

Great location

This is a great property. Close to the Metro, restaurants and a grocery store. Nice neighborhood, quiet, and easy to get around in. We had everything we needed. Our family gathering was memorable.

Perfect location for Wash DC trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed this house, which was well-outfitted, comfortable, quiet. We experience a minor issue with the heating which was corrected 100% very promptly with the kind assistance of Alec (which is why we provided a 4 out of 5 star rating...absent that issue, it's FIVE-star worthy)! We loved that this was walking- distance to grocery store, and just a mile to the Eastern Market area of WashDC. THANKS for an EXCELLENT visit!

Spring Break with Elementary Ages

We had a very comfortable stay! The beds were very comfy, check-in easy, washer and dryer, great communication. The metro stop just down the way and Safeway very close.

Fantastic location!

The house was well appointed, in a great neighborhood and the proximity to the Metro was great! We basically slept and ate breakfast there but it worked great for our family of 4. Close to the sites. The Eastern Market was nearby and a great place to eat. Would stay here again if we went back to DC.

Great place for family reunion

Six septuagenarian sibling/spouses stayed here. Enjoyed the house, the backyard and the proximity to museums and mall. Check in and out were a breeze. Only caveat or caution would be to note that stairs in this age house are steep if anyone in your party has mobility issues.

An all-around easy place to stay!

We had a reservation at another property that cancelled on us 24 hours before we were to arrive. Found this one on a busy week and not many options so I was concerned. I needn’t be. It was perfect for our needs. Super convenient to the Metro, grocery shopping, a restaurant marketplace (The Roost), also easy to walk to things of you like walking. We also had a special request which they kindly - and nicely - accommodated. If you drive, the garage is a big help. I would recommend to the property managers to include a sheet in their helpful notebook on how to use Roku since we weren’t familiar with it. Also to check the kitchen to replace items that were used by previous visitors.

Great space w/ easy access

The space was ideal for our group. It was comfortable and well laid out for the 6 of us. The property manager was helpful and prompt when we reached out. The area has a lot of amenities and is easily accessible to the metro. definitely a great find!

The perfect house for exploring DC with family

My husband and I hosted my niece and her family for a week at this house. It was perfect. A quiet neighborhood with close both the metro and a Safeway grocery store within a block. The house was just as described with a wonderful welcome book filled with great information. Alec was very responsive from beginning to end. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place in DC

Wonderful home in DC close to downtown area. Really had everything one could need. We enjoyed coming back from a busy day and having the space to lounge a little. The garage is a great addition to ensure parking but definitely takes a little skill getting in and out. Would definitely recommend this home.

Fabulous Week!

Three friends visiting the sights in DC, and we had a wonderful time. The house was perfect…spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, and spacious kitchen. After exhausting days of walking, we enjoyed cocktails on the patio, having been to the very close Safeway that had everything we could possibly need. Our host was very communicative and accommodating. Definitely a 5 star!

NEVER BOOK THROUGH THEM AGAIN

We were set to leave on a Friday morning, only to wake up, to a middle of the night sent text message, stating our place was no longer available. It had been rented to someone else. Worst travel experience of my life. No one was willing to make it better/fix the issue. Not until we had to get into screaming matches with VRBO and fight to passed up to hight management. Still they did no leg work or explanations to want the next steps were. The story is they double booked the house and had to give it to who ever booked it first. Well if someone booked it before us why did they so easily cash both my initial check and my final payment? NEVER AGAIN!! Avoid this and any other properties.

Civic lessons

Location and house were great. One block to a Safeway and one block to the Metro. Only issue was a car illegally packed in alley making it difficult to get out. Not the owner's fault. great weather and easy to get around. Nice neighborhood. Easy to work with owner.

Pictures were taken awhile back. A centipede was on the stairs. Good size one. A package was stolen from the front door. Mold was caulked over in the shower. The best thing about the place was the location.

I moved to Washington DC in 1980 to save the world. Unfortunately, the world could still use quite a bit of help! I, however, couldn't get enough of DC and never left. I met my husband in 1981 and we have lived in the city ever since. We fell in love with Capitol Hill and raised our three kids here. We love the area and want to share it with others.

About the Manager
Alec has decades of experience as a management consultant, which involved way too much travel and hospitality experience (approximately 200 flights per year.) In 2003 he started renting out the family's second home on an online platform, a brand new business model at the time. Over the years that activity grew into a future retirement plan with the addition of more properties, all of which are located on Capitol Hill and must pass a simple test... Would they be a place Alec and his family would enjoy staying themselves?

Washington DC is a great place to spend time. The city is compressed, so you can get anywhere is a short time, and the neighborhoods surrounding the house (Barrack's Row and Eastern Market) have a ton of local restaurants and shops, little parks and things to do. With the house being just one block from the Metro, you have quick access to the entire city! This house is modern, family-friendly, and large enough to sleep up to 8 people (excluding the couches).

The house has been updated with a more open layout, beautiful new furniture, 2 flat screen TVs, 2 clean and new bathrooms, a lovely front porch and a family-ready backyard. We have great public transportation (the Potomac Ave. Metro is just one block away, and the Circulator Bus picks up on Potomac Ave as well. They go where the tourists go.) and the city is largely flat, so it is perfect for walking and cycling. In this house you can entertain friends, snuggle up and watch a movie, BBQ in the yard or walk six blocks to the Eastern Market/Barrack's Row area, where there are dozens of restaurants and small shops.
