Great condo! Was a little disappointed in the construction that was going on in the mornings....made it a little difficult for the kids to sleep in, but otherwise, no complaints. Would definitely recommend staying here. Location is great....just far enough from all the activity of Tamarindo, but close enough not to be inconvenient. Good communication from Syd throughout! Would definitely stay here again.

Tamarindo Family Stay

The condo was great. Really nice layout for 4 adults. The wife and I really loved the penthouse and the penthouse views and the kids loved chilling on the patio and taking in the views. Surfing at Playa Langosta right out front . Pool. Slightly removed from Tamarindo beach . Willy, the property manager . Definitely recommend.

Home Away from Home

If you're looking for a place to settle and relax, this place has everything you need to operate like you're at home, with access to the beach and a short walk into town. Perfect for a couple or an a family of six like ours.

Great views!

Property was great. Close enough to town but far enough to be able to enjoy some quiet time. Views were amazing. Owner and staff were very responsive and able to help with any concerns. Property was well appointed and we had everything to feel at home for our entire stay. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful Condo and Location - Close Walk to Town

We loved this beautiful space right on the beach with all the comforts of home. Traveling with our two young adult children, it was so nice that we all had our own bathrooms and space to relax. We were happy that it was a comfortable walk to town. Syd was an amazing host and answered many of our questions for our first trip to Costa Rica. We would definitely recommend this to any future guests.

Great Condo/Great Location

We had a wonderful stay. The property was well maintained and quiet. The condo had all the comforts of home, plenty of room for 5 of us. We met some of the full time residents and long term renters who were all friendly. The view of the sunsets were unmatched. Absolutely gorgeous. We highly recommend staying in Syd's condo. One day we will visit Playa Langosta/Tamarindo again and stay in this lovely condo.

Excellent beachfront location

We had a fantastic time at the condo. We picked this condo because we wanted to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the waves rolling in. This is exactly what we got and we spent many happy hours enjoying the views. We liked being away from the bustle of Tamarindo yet close enough to walk or take a short car ride in for restaurants and other activities. The condo complex is small and quiet and the pool is a pleasure. The condo had everything we needed for a great vacation.

Excellent beachfront Condo

Fantastic Condo and grounds with great views just as described in the listing. Was perfect for our family of 4; with teenage boys each having a room for themselves. Great location just outside of the busy town of Tamarindo but within walking distance and plenty of good local restaurants nearby within a couple minutes walk. Easy check in with condo being ready a couple hours ahead of time which was nice as we arrived late morning. Property managers Willy and Justin were great to work with as they organized airport transfers and were very responsive with any questions or help that was needed while there!

Beautiful views

Views are perfect from the condo. Great location, nice walk to the busy downtown area which was perfect for our family. Condo is nice size for everyone to have their own space. The TV didn’t work and when it did it was a pain to stream. We didn’t mind since it made us unplug, especially the kids. Would stay here again for the location and views.

Wonderful location in beach paradise!

This property met our expectations to a T and then some! There were no surprises and we felt very at home in this beautiful condo. The accommodations were excellent and the views were even better! Like we saw in many other posts - the sunsets were amazing right from the spacious balcony... or from the beach just a few steps away! Our family loved the location just outside of the bustling activity of Tamarindo... but still close enough to enjoy all the great restaurants and shops. The owners were exceptional leading up to our stay providing lots of valuable recommendations and guidance when requested. We felt very safe the entire time. We would most definitely stay here again - and hope we get that opportunity again soon!

Beautiful Penthouse in Tamarindo

This property is on the top floor of a small secure condominium building, and sits right on the beach with incredible views of the beach and ocean from the 2 large decks and 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The Penthouse is large and very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. The design and architecture of the Penthouse and the Condo building is stunning. The location is great, as you are within easy walking distance to Tamarindo Beach to the north and a smaller beach to the east, as well as many great restaurants and 2 different resorts. The local Manager/Concierge is fantastic and arranged wonderful tours for us. This is a 5 star property in a 5 star location. Loved our time at the Penthouse. The Harpers and Wardens STL.

A little slice of heaven

As a condo owner on the coast in the USA I understand what it takes to make everything come together for an enjoyable experience and I can say without a doubt that is exactly what we had with our stay. The condo was first class and the concierge (Willy) was fantastic. From the time we arrived in Costa Rica until we departed Willy took care of all of our needs and allowed us to simply enjoy our vacation without worrying about the logistics. Somewhere In Paradise

The unit is very functional and very clean! The kitchen is well stocked for virtually every need. It was the perfect oasis for our three couples as we were being absorbed into the beauty of Costa Rica. The 180 degree views of the ocean with its mesmerizing sound of oncoming waves was a great backdrop to the spectacular nightly sunsets. The community pool provided heavenly relief from the warm tropical air. The location was the right mix between having a tranquil space while still being close to the many great restaurants and shops of Tamarindo. The ever changing scenery while walking into town along the beach was breathtaking! We were never in need of a car since taxis were readily available. Overall a great vacation with great memories!

Spectacular view and great condo!

Our family loved staying in unit #305! The unit is spacious, nicely furnished, and has a spectacular view of the ocean. The beds are super comfortable, each of the 3 bedrooms has a private bathroom, and there's a guest bathroom as well. In essence there are 2 "master bedrooms" with balcony and view. We had family members staying in a first floor unit, and a second floor unit in Horizontes. Unit #305 was definitely the nicest one - and had the best view. We liked staying at an oceanfront condo, walking on the beach, and being near Tamarindo - but staying at Playa Langosta, which is quieter and has nicer sunsets. The condo owners, Syd and Lynne, were extremely helpful and responsive, which is a very nice plus. I would highly recommend this condo and location!

Blissful getaway with no hassle

We really needed a break. We were so delighted with this property. Clean and open, with high ceilings, all bedrooms have full ensuite, 2 bedrooms have access to deck. Both upper and lower decks have comfortable seating which is protected from rain if it happens. We can hear the ocean from our bed. The pool is lovely and was hardly used by anyone but us. Quiet secure compound 5 minute drive from busy beach town of tamarindo. Can rent golf cart to get around, or walk the beach. We rented a car but parking in town can be tricky. Lovely nearby restaurants to watch the sunsets, and we barbecued on the deck which was perfect. Condo Service was excellent, I emailed Elena a dozen times with various requests, and she was always helpful and prompt. She booked our excursions (national park, ziplining, catamaran with snorkeling). I loved this property and will definitely be back to sit on the deck again with my book and a glass of wine.

Amazing Vacation

Our stay in Langosta was simply amazing! We are so grateful to Syd. Our family was initially staying at a different property. We had significant issues that made it unable for us to stay there and we began frantically looking for somewhere new to stay. We discovered this beautiful property with amazing views, and it was such a blessing. The owner went out of his way to get the property ready the same day for us, despite the fact that it was Easter Sunday. Once we arrived, we were immediately greeted with friendliness and kindness, and felt like we were in our home away from home. Willy also went out of his way to assist us in acquiring a golf cart for our stay. The property is beautiful! The location is perfect! You could not ask for more in a vacation property! If you have the opportunity, I would definitely stay here. Our family will definitely return the next time we vacation in Costa Rica. Thank you again so much Syd, David, Willy, and everyone who saved our vacation and made it one we will never forget.

Great location with amazing views!

Wow! This was wonderful 3bdrm, 2fl well appointed condo just a short 15-20 minute walk to Tamarindo. It was perfect for our family of 5. The beach front was really cool for exploring during low tide. Starfish, turtles, crabs, etc could be found among the rocks. High tide took up most of the beach and there were spots to wade in the water. It was a nice walk to/from Tamarindo during low tide. The condo had everything we needed and we felt very safe with security gates both at the front and back of the property. I was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new Weber grill on the balcony, which worked great. The grocery store was no more than a 150yds away and had most essential items. The pizza place right outside the building was very good. Only two things I'd mention for potential renters. First, the unit direct next door was being remodeled and there was heavy demo/construction from 8am-5pm, M-F. Think jackhammers, saws/power tools, sledge hammers, etc. We weren't in the room much during the day, but it took away from the otherwise relaxing experience. Understandably this is outside of the owners control, however there was no notice provided ahead of arrival. Thankfully our kids are older, but this could have been a problem for families with younger children that nap. Second, there is no elevator. If someone in your party has difficulty with stairs, this could be an issue. Again, not a problem for us but something to note. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would love to return sometime!

Stunning property right on the water

The location of the penthouse was perfect, on a quiet and very private street away from the noise of the town but a 10 minute drive away. It's right on the water on a gorgeous stretch of beach with many volcanic tide pools to explore, however not swimmable. Swimmable beaches are available a leisurely 10 minute walk toward Tamarindo. The city of Tamarindo itself is very Americanized, touristy and busy; finding authentic Costa Rican culture is difficult in this area. On the plus, there are many tourist activities to do. Staying at this property was an excellent choice, since we found the town overly crowded and touristy. We enjoyed a nice balance with a quiet, private home base. The penthouse itself is stunning and in a safe, gated complex. It easily accommodated the two families with small kids in our group. It's very spacious, comfortable and elegantly decorated in tropical Tommy Bahama style. It had everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. The pictures don't do it justice.We happened to catch a bit of Hurricane Otto. The owners were very protective of us and gave us updates, making us feel very safe and welcomed. *TIP: It rains all the time in Costa Rica, so come prepared with a rain slicker/umbrella and waterproof cases for electronics! ***Unrelated but useful information: a car is highly necessary to fully enjoy Costa Rica. However, they are notorious for ripping off Americans, particularly Economy rentals, via Expedia. Our bill almost tripled due to Economy lying to us about insurance requirements. Save yourself a headache and purchase international rental insurance stateside and research the legal requirements for insurance.

Nice villa, bad experience.

Five of us arrived late Saturday night, doorman handed us an envelope with door code and some basic instructions. Those instructions suggested we use the safe for our valuables. However we were not provided the key to the safe, so we had to improvise hiding some things. We spent Sunday on the property and then out to a local sports bar to watch NFL game and have dinner. When we returned to the villa that night, my wife took off her nice gold neckless and put it in her makeup bag along with about $25. At 8:15am the next morning, we awoke to all sorts of noise. Apparently the maid let herself in and was making a racket, opening bedroom doors, etc, presumably I guess to wake us up. We had no idea she was scheduled, it was a very uncomfortable situation, and in our haste to get dressed and get out, my wife neglected to hide her neckless. We retuned that afternoon to find the neckless and cash missing. Of course we contacted the property manager to cancel all future cleanings and asked that they question the maid named Cindy. After a series of confusing emails, we were told that maids were often the first to be blamed for theft, but understood they would loose their job if caught. We were offered $100 for our inconvenience, which we suggested they use instead to pay for a lie decorator test. We have used VRBO over a dozen times, in many different countries, and never had any problem. But this is also the only villa we have ever stayed in with a door code and not a key. It is unfortunate that this is how we will remember our first (and likely only) trip to Costa Rica.

Spring break

The owner and his property manager were super helpful and very accessible. They got us a ride back and forth to airport and helped reserve a golf cart. Condo was in a great location, quiet neighborhood but close enough to downtown and amazing restaurants. Sunsets were amazing right from property and we spent hours in the pool. Condo was spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Tide pools were really cool right on the beach in front of condo. Would love to go back for a friends trip or multiple families.

Terrific stay in Langosta/Tamarindo

Excellent place to enjoy Costa Rica. The listing was accurate as well as the pictures. We were traveling with my wife's sister and her husband and my wife's parents. Everyone said that this was the best condo they had ever stayed in. My wife and I have rented many VRBOs with other couples and I agree this is the best place we have ever stayed. The balcony was my favorite place for morning coffee and ending the day as well. The kitchen had everything we needed even though we ate out for most dinners. The pool was perfect and a great place to relax in the afternoon after excursions before dinner. The Langosta area is quieter than downtown Tamarindo and my wife and I enjoyed running in the neighborhood which is very quiet. We saw howler monkeys most days. I highly recommend this condo. You will not be disappointed.

Great property and location

Pictures were very accurate for this well maintained property. Great location on a quiet street but with several restaurants within a couple blocks. Only 1 mile to the busy downtown. Willy, the concierge, was excellent, providing great excursion options and coordination. He also got us groceries ahead of our arrival. Only slight negative is the water directly in front of the property is rocky and not swimmable. Great beach a short walk to the left though. Highly recommend!
