Quiet location

This home is in an area we love - off the beaten path - close to Mataket beach. The home itself was nice/comfortable. I saw previous reviews that said the home did not have 'fans' so I brought my own but this home does have fans. Vacasa is not accommodating when you ask these questions and they should improve their customer service. The owner should spend some money to upgrade the linens, pillows and add a couch. If the owner does these things, I would definitely consider renting this home again. The location for our family was perfect.

What a great getaway!

We loved the house and that is wasn’t so far from town. We got to see so much of Nantucket that most do not see due to staying in town.

No what advertised

Vacasa is the number 1 problem anytime they manage the property. VRBO. Several issues. Beds Full size not queens. No AC when advertised Cooling by thermostat. House under construction with windows and siding in progress. 4 chairs no couch to seat 6 people. Beautiful area and home as a rental has potential.2 fans didn’t work. No extra towels. Beach towels would be nice since they advertise short walk to beach and possible beach chairs.

A great place to stay

The location of this cozy but roomy space was very convenient to everything, just a 7 to 10 minute ride for almost everything! The house was clean and well decorated , comfortable and spacious!

Roomy, quaint cottage in GREAT location

This is an awesome place to stay on Nantucket- away from the busyness of main town, 20 minute walk to a couple beaches; 5 minutes to bike paths; gorgeous private treed backyard and deck with nice Weber bbq, patio set, and lawn chairs. Super roomy- lots of space for a family or 3 couples. Loved it. There were some oddities- no kettle and only keurig to make coffee (we love our tea and coffee so this was disappointing) however other than that, kitchen is well stocked. Honestly- felt like we our grandparents had just left us their cottage for the weekend. Very homey and comfortable. Maybe to add to that vibe...there was some construction/repair stuff in various places in the house. Not a big deal- but just would not expect that at a place like this. I also found communicating through vacasa (business that runs the rental) not as good as messaging through VRBO. Still feel this was great value for Nantucket and we would absolutely recommend!

Weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful cottage. Fun outdoor shower! Fans are available but some days were warm without and AC. Cable and dvds available, the ability to play our own Netflix or Hulu would have been appreciated. It was a quaint and fun trip. Thank you!

Nice place very clean . However no instructions in the house for beach location , tv etc . Vacasa could have left some coffee in the house ! Very nice place to stay , close to Millie’s and some beaches .

Great location

This was our second stay at this house. The location is perfect, in a quiet neighborhood that is close to bike paths and easy access to the beach. The outdoor shower had been updated, which was nice.

Lovely home

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home in a quiet neighborhood. House is about 2 miles from Madeket and Eel Point beaches - within a bike ride or drive but not quite walkable with beach equipment. We never had any difficulty parking at either beach. Overall loved our stay!

Charming 3bedroom

This home is tastefully decorated in the common area that includes the living room & dining room space. The deck was a nice place to enjoy meals cooked on the grill or in the kitchen. There are fans in the house to create airflow during the hot/humid summers on the island.

Three sister annual trip

We loved the location.. It was very private. We were a bit disappointed that there were no brochures regarding activities in the area. We only had our bicycles so no car and needed help finding things listed. My sister's bed wasn't made properly. The bottom sheet was just a waterproof mattress pad, the light was out in the bathroom, there was rust on the bathroom radiator and the shower liner in the upstairs bath was ripped. We realize it is still early season but the livingroom.windows were very dirty. When trying to do the dishes there was nowhere to put the silverware. The outside garbage pails were overflowing. We had a wonderful time but struggled from time to time.

Great house, good location

We enjoyed our stay, the house is great. We loved the quietness and close to beach location. Note: transportation to that side of the island can be tricky consider a rental car or plan your rides with a car service. Some Uber didn't want to come pick us up

Convenient location, great set up!

This was our second visit to High & Dry and it was as good as the first (with even better WiFi this time ☺️)! Located in a secluded neighborhood just a short walk or bike to both a Wave stop and the Madaket bike path - it’s in a great location. Kitchen was well stocked, bedrooms spacious, and beach gear ready for use with plenty of chairs, an umbrella, games and towels. Would definitely recommend!

Suggestion for more information

I would have been helpful to have some information at the cottage about the days for trash and recycling pickup, for instance. I have rented a number of homes in the Warren's Landing development and find the location excellent. I was a little disappointed that there was no access to the tennis courts, but I will get over it. Overall, a most pleasant vacation experience.

Perfect for families

This rental was on a quiet street where our 4 year old could safely ride her bike. They had baby gates for the stairs, a pack n play, booster seat, and bath tubs for bathing small children. We loved the location and the quiet neighborhood.

Excellent location and lovely house

This location was perfect. It’s close to the beach, Millie’s, and not too far from town. All of the bike paths were easy to get to. The house had more than enough room for a family of four and a great backyard with privacy. We had a great family vacation and would definitely return.
