Location convenient

Condo could use some updates (tv, beds, bedding, kitchen appliances, patio furniture and skillets). Second small pool doesn’t have shack open. Great location and view of ocean.

Great condo in Destin FL

great view of ocean. Regular pool and separate adult pool. Easy access to beach. Grounds well manicured. Nice condo with all amenities needed!

Comfortable stay

I would recommend the facility and unit for any stay. Check in was easy, reported some minor things which were or should be handled, had a great relaxing time. No mess of people running through the hallways at crazy hours or noisy people on balconies at night. I’d stay here again

Great place to stay

Location was great…right across street from the beach/less than 3 minutes to get to beach. Condo was clean and nicely furnished. Elevators were not properly working during our stay. Grounds were beautiful and friendly staff.

Beautifully landscaped property!!

We loved staying in this condo and have stayed here before. Everything was clean and ready for us upon arrival. It's just a short walk to the beach and close to The Back Porch. We always use Mike to rent umbrellas and chairs from on the beach. He is much friendlier and always so much more helpful than the Sterling Shores people. He's cheaper too! Over all we had a great experience.

It was nice. Area is perfect. Room needs to be updated with furniture. Couches and rug where very dirty looking. Door in master comes off of the hinges on the closet. Overall it was ok.

Condo did not have closet in second bedroom. By law it is not considered a two bedroom. TV did not play correctly. Tub drain would not stop water from running out. No pantry storage. Never to stay in a two bedroom with no closet

Neglected Unit in Beautiful Complex

Sterling Shores is one of the best condominium complex’s to stay in Destin however this unit was not up to par. The furniture (sofas, beds, chairs) are all heavily worn and need replacing. The ceilings are marked with black spots (potentially mold?). The kitchen could hardly be considered ‘stocked’ with cookware. As stated before the complex is great with its locations and breathtaking views but I would not recommend this particular unit. There are plenty others that are very well taken care of.

Old, dirty and dusty

The location of the condo was great with great beach access. However, I would not recommend this particular unit. Everything inside is very old and dusty. There were layers of dust on the windows, screens and blinds. Half of the outlets did not work and only one tv worked—the tv in the living room did not work. The duvet insert in the master bedroom did not have a duvet cover on it (hopefully it is laundered after every guest) and the sheets were so old they had holes in them and were covered in pills. The pillows in the small bedroom smelled like dust and the bed was pushed against the dust covered window. The drain stop in the master bathroom tub was broken, so it would not hold water. If you choose Sterling Shores for its great location and amenities, choose a different unit than 0615. Also, the elevators at the condo were in disrepair. One elevator was broken half the time and on the last day the other elevator broke.

MOLD... Sterling Shores is 5 star - This room, not so much.

Initially, this room seemed great. After a day or so, we really found a lot wrong with it, and weren't even looking. The room was just plain dirty, things like big pieces of food and dirt/sand are around (I understand it's the beach and there will be sand, but come on). It seemed as if it hadn't been cleaned. A Maintenance person showed up without even calling, to tell us the TV didn't work - which is nice, but a heads up would have been great. It was bad timing on their part, and we won't stay in this room again. From my wife and I's view, this all needs fixed: - Broken patio chair - Both exhaust fans in both bathrooms are falling off - Mold in the twin bedroom corners of the ceiling - Grout is disconnected along the whole side of the master bathtub, just laying there - Stove cooking light doesn't work - Furniture is worn, makes it hard to sit down, when it looks dirty

Could’ve been cleaner

We love staying at Sterling Shores and have stayed there several times in the past 5 years. This units bathrooms weren’t as clean as others and the 2nd bedroom had a lot of dust behind the headboard and window.

Loved the room

Loved the room itself was clean, up to date plenty of room for us. My only thing was the furniture, beds and blankets was hard could definitely update these and be a easy 5 star. Thanks for the stay we will definitely come back and stay again.

Very nice apartment w/beautiful view.

I loved that mostly everything was clean, balcony was nice, kitchen and bathrooms stocked with basic needs. Shower curtain in master bathroom needs cleaning or changing. There's mold/mildew on inside of it-face level. Pillows and pillow cases had many stains...we brought our own thank God. But those definitely need changing out. Otherwise we were comfortable and enjoyed every bit of being in this home. Will recommend and use in future.

FYI

The amenities at Sterling shores are amazing. The short walk to the beach and nicely maintained pools were awesome. However, this particular unit has mold. It is disheartening to spend money to stay at a place where you want to relax only to find mold in the rooms you’re sleeping in. We know a lot about mold nowadays and the list of negative health outcomes is long. I chose not to say anything while we were there because I didn’t want maintenance to come “clean” it which would only stir up the spores and not accomplish anything. Hopefully the appropriate steps can be taken to actually eradicate the mold problem in this unit.
