Paradise Retreat, POOL, Hot Tub and AC with ECO energy!

Paradise Retreat is your own private resort on Hawai'i’s Big Island. Relax and enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub in our private, fully enclosed back yard. Lounge poolside in the sun-soaked chaise chairs or stay cool on the covered lanai. In the evenings, enjoy starry nights and listen for the waves crashing just a few blocks away.

The home is designed to collect the island trade-winds and naturally cool the interior, especially during the evening hours with the A/C off and the windows open. Our A/C systems efficiently cools the home during warm days, if necessary, using only solar during the day-light hours.

Our home has been recently updated, is fully furnished and stocked with linens, pool towels and all the kitchen items you'll need for cooking your favorite meals. Water from our well is filtered and UV-treated before entering the home.

Paradise Retreat has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main bedroom suite has a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with slate tiled shower AND jetted bathtub. The two additional bedrooms share a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. One of these bedrooms has a queen size bed and the other has a king size bed. The fourth bedroom has a twin bed with an AC unit. The third bathroom is in the large laundry room near bedroom four. We provide a washer and dryer for laundry and a starter supply of laundry strips to avoid large plastic detergent jugs.

Located in Keaau just south of Hilo, Paradise Retreat is in a great place for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, Hilo, Pahoa and the heritage Hamakua Coast. Let us point you in the right direction for adventures, cultural sites and ocean activities. Our neighborhood is quiet at night except for the mesmerizing Coqui frogs. Please respect quiet hours 9pm to 8am by keeping noise levels low. If you can’t hear the Coquis, it’s too loud. Mahalo nui loa for your green choices, respecting our home, our neighbors and our Island. E Komo Mai!

Paradise Retreat is an eco-friendly get-away and leaves a small carbon footprint on our beautiful island.

Wonderful Property

This is a fantastic home. Very comfortable. The outside pool area is really relaxing. Kitchen is well stocked, beds and sofas are comfortable. Private setting with beautiful landscaping. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful, modern & clean

Great private property. Friendly host who are quick to respond to questions. All the modern amenities needed. Beautiful outdoor area with a nice size pool for small families, jacuzzi & gas grill. We had a fun time and would recommend this B&B to friends & family. We’re already thinking about our next trip back.

To Short of a Stay

We had a wonderful staycation at this beautiful hidden treasure. We had 3 great days of catching up with family and friends. The pool was a special treat that grandchildren enjoyed. Your home is super clean, and we enjoyed cooking in this spacious kitchen. Truly enjoyed our time here. We made a lot of memories. Mahalo, Doreen Kahalewai

Amazing time in Hawaii

We were travelling with our kids and grandparents and were not disappointed with this house. The backyard is very big. Lots of grass space to play games such as football, frisbee, bocce etc. The pool is a great size with different sitting areas and the hot tub is a nice added bonus. The inside of the house was clean and spacious and had everything we needed with nice appliances. Thank goodness for A/C! We also liked the board games. The neighborhood is nice. We had a great time and could have stayed longer... Thank you!

The landscaping is beautiful and provides a complete barrier from surrounding homes to give it a “resort” feel. Although we visited in December and the pool was too cool to enjoy, we still thoroughly enjoyed the pool side view. The home is very beautiful and has ample room for the family. It was more beautiful than I had anticipated, very clean, and beautifully decorated! We hope to come back and stay again! Thank you for providing our family with luxury and relaxation!

Chemical sensitivity

Great house. Love the openness and pool. Swimming was great even in rain. My biggest problem was no real air movement. And carpeting. When carpet becomes warm and is trapped there is a problem with the chemicals_ causing out gassing. With little air movement to speak of i had a severe allergic reaction going to the e r. Good hospital nearby. Do not misunderstand for most folk its no issue. Loved the washer and dryer and low to no scented linens. The grounds will be lovely as they mature i am sure. Found a rare mushroom in front yard. First rate for cleanliness and environmental concerns. Might i suggest a covered compost pit. Thank you

The underwater pool light wasn’t working, I reported it and the handyman came the next day. But the replacement bulb had to be ordered and we went home before it was installed - what a shame - nighttime dip would’ve been wonderful. The hot tub was too hot đŸ„” we needed an instruction sheet on how to work it!!

Peaceful stay

We really enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to have the pool and hot tub and the house had everything we needed for cooking. It’s also quite roomy. It’s about 25 minutes from downtown Hilo, but close to other sites and beaches.

A literal paradise

I can’t imagine needing anything else than what this house provided. The house was spotless and immaculate. The outdoor space was enormous, and also pristinely maintained. The little details around the property really made it feel like home - the local artwork, the Hawaiian decor (which was so comfortable). There were plenty of extras around the house so we didn’t need to shop to get extra supplies, small condiments, aloe, beach supplies (chairs, etc). The instructions for the house were very clear and the recommendations made for places to go were spot on (we went to several of them). Overall, this is probably the most idyllic place we have ever stayed. My 7 year old loved splashing in the pool and the hot tub was always nice and warm. We will definitely be back! Loved the house so much!

We had a great time staying here. The accommodations were exactly as described. We really enjoyed having the pool and the hot tub. It would be more convenient if there was an outdoor shower to rinse off before pool or hot tub. Loved this house. We will be back again.

Wonder home near Hilo

Fantastic property! Fully stocked with everything you need. Clean, comfortable, beautifully landscaped with a wonderful pool and hot tub. We were almost tempted to stay on the property the entire time we were on the big island. Close to Hilo, Volcanoes National Park, black sand beaches and waterfalls. The Paradise cliffs are just a few blocks away, and a wonderful place to watch the sunrise every morning. Property manager was responsive and available, They even mailed us a pair of eyeglasses that got left accidentally. Would definitely stay here again!

Tropical bliss

The home is extremely clean and tidy, responses from on-island contact are always prompt and helpful. The pool was amazing as usual. This home exudes every bit of tranquility you could ask for and all the amenities to boot. Amazing roadside Huli Huli chicken stands, farmers markets and downtown Hilo are only minutes away as well as all the wonderful sights in Volcanoes National Park and on the other side of the island. We plan to continue to come back and stay at Paradise Retreat again and I highly recommend it to anyone else wanting a wonderful, extremely clean and fully stocked home to stay at while exploring all the Big Island has to offer.
