Charming Historic Cottage One Block to Forsyth by Lucky Savannah

Nestled in the heart of Savannah's beautiful Historic District, this two-level cottage style home is the perfect getaway for up to four guests. Guests enter independently through the lane, where they will find private access to their abode.

Use your secure, keyless entry code to access the carriage house, entering into the charming living space with original exposed brick, hand-laid tile floors, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. Two additional guests can transform the living space into a bedroom with a Queen sofa sleeper. Off the living room you'll find the bright and sunny kitchen, fully-equipped with every cooking essential, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops! Additionally on the first floor, you'll find a powder room tucked away off of the living room.

Upstairs, the both bedrooms are equipped with comfortable beds, one Queen and one King, plus a generous amount of storage space - ideal for extended stays. The full bath with tub/shower combo and double vanity is off of the hall, making it convenient for all! Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the large courtyard separating the carriage from the main house. A washer and dryer are also available adjacent to the main home.

Nearby attractions include The Sorrel-Weed House, Green-Meldrim House, Mercer Williams House Museum, and the Fountain at Forsyth Park. Head North just a short walk towards the National Landmark Historic District center, with Broughton Street being the go-to for shopping and dining. Both City Market and River Street are a 15-minute walk from this home.

Parking for this home is on-street and metered, which is enforced by the City of Savannah Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Guests are encouraged to purchase a pre-paid parking pass from the Savannah Visitor Center, or park their vehicles in one of the several City-owned parking garages.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very good. Would recommend. Only thing it is lacking is a private parking spot. You have to park on the street which from 8-5 is metered and limited to 2 hours. Not a big deal, but would be great to know up front.

First, be aware that parking is a bit of an issue. There is paid street parking nearby and free street parking a little ways away. Not a huge deal but just be aware. Other than that, it was great. Very convenient to anything we wanted to see or do. We easily accessed the shuttle when we didn't want to walk. It was clean and comfortable.

Great Place to stay !

The location was great. The place was also very quiet and being two women we felt safe in this area. Close to Trolley and DOT stops, also close to Mrs. Wilkes for lunch, and several other places people like to visit while here.

Such A Quaint Space!

Great low key spot!

The property is charming. It was perfect for me, my daughter & her boyfriend. Plenty of room for another 2 people. I will definitely rent this property again next time I’m in Savannah.

Quick family getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. It was in a great location. Walking distance to anything you needed. Parking wasn’t bad either. Seating in the living room could have been more comfortable for those of us with back problems but we loved everything else about our stay.

Beautiful Carriage House in an Ideal Location

This location was perfect for us. We were here for a long weekend and were able to walk to everything. The rental was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Communication with the property manager was always promptly answered. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location

The location of this property is amazing, within walking distance of restaurants and many other places. Because is in the Historic District you have to pay for additional parking (on the street). The house is so cute and good for 4 people. My only complaint is the shower faucet was dripping and the shower liner had mold. I contact the manager, they didn't do anything.

Original house had mold and was not livable. Took two days before they moved us, and then would not give us a refund (even a partial refund) for any of the nights, because they said they moved us to an "upgrade". Terrible customer service.

Lovely place. Couple issues

There was no private parking. Therefore had to find somewhere to leave car overnight. The main floor didn't have heat other than 2 registers. Thermostat was on 2nd floor.

Great location but lots of noise

This apartment is in an old building with a lot of charm. The entrance is off of an alley way, which can feel a bit unsafe at night if you're not used to it. But the location was wonderful for shopping, coffee shops, and diners. Be aware that there is a TON of noise at night. We have lots trucks or motorcycles wake us up multiple times, even with a sound machine in use. Pros and cons, but for the price, we probably wouldn't stay here again.

Great walkability!

Close to shops, restaurants, Forsythe park. Very convenient once you locate alley entrance. Kitchen nicely equipped. Comfortable bedding. Great host communication in app. I would recommend an update to shower plumbing with only one full bath. 1/2 bath off the living room very convenient. I will definitely stay again during frequent visits to see family in Savannah and recommend to friends. Cute retail and coffee shop across the street on Whitaker. Definitely use the Park Savannah app if you have a vehicle. No issues finding street parking. Could only be better with a reserved parking spot.

Home wasn't quite as described

I should have read the property description better but this rental is essentially in an alley. If you arrive after dark the alleyway can be very intimidating as it's filled with trash cans, dumpsters, bags of garbage and is poorly lit. There is NO parking with this unit so be prepared to walk quite a ways to find a spot for your vehicle. Also, the washer & dryer are NOT in the rental, but are in a dark, poorly lit out building shared by countless other renters. The unit is also advertised as 2 baths, but really it's just 1 full bath and a toilet on the main floor. Even though the unit isn't on a Main Street, and there's no vehicles driving in front of the rental, you can hear the road noise very clearly from the bedrooms. If you're a light sleeper you will want to bring ear plugs or run a fan all night as the noise from other streets is very clear in the bedroom. The unit was clean, the master bedroom was spacious, and the kitchen well organized.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a girls trip to Savannah and really appreciated the location of Charlton House for our checklist of must sees. We did not, however, enjoy the many signs that the place was not being maintained (e.g. light bulbs missing, dripping taps, dirty rugs) and that the overall cleaning turnover was either rushed or just not great. Not eough towels, not enough soap, dust bunnies on the stairs, etc.

Worst rental experience we have ever had

My poor rating of this property is due to the physical reaction I experienced while staying at the property in February. My reaction to the odor/smell in the property included headaches and sinus-chest congestion. We paid for and planned to stay for the entire month of February 2024 but my physical reaction was so concerning we felt we needed to leave and ended our stay two weeks ahead of our scheduled departure date. We departed early rather than remain in the property. No refund or alternative property were provided by the management company. Both were requested. All of this was reported to the property management company (Lucky Savannah) throughout our stay, starting the day we checked in.
