En kort promenad eller cykla till stranden (10 - 15 minuter i maklig takt ... du vill vara lugn på din semester!)Erbjuder vi integritet och avskildhet, inför syd mot vindar och ljudet av vågorna. Även trogen koloniala arkitektoniska detaljer på utsidan, har nere en öppen planlösning, centrering på en vägg av glas som öppnas ut mot en veranda och steg ner på en tegel terrass. De två sovrummen på övervåningen har alla ett takfönster genom vilket du kan höra vågorna och titta på stjärnorna.
Ägarna bor på fastigheten, i den intilliggande garage apt. Egenskaperna är helt separata = orientering, parkering, uteservering etc ... förbättrad med inhägnad skärning och frodiga naturliga planteringar.

Nantucket, en bevarad historisk stad: Nantucket var en gång centrum för valfångst i hela världen. Därför förmögenheter de Ship Captains samlat tillät dem att bygga en vacker stad centrerad kring hamnen och kajer. Att staden och dess byggnader förbli intakt idag som de var då tack vare The Historic District kommissionen. Vilken vacker och blomstrande by ... en promenad tillbaka i tiden längs kullerstensgatorna.

Nantucket har också en buss-system för resenärer och lokalbor. Staden shuttle (som löper till 11:00) stopp är 1 mil, en femton minuters promenad från huset ... längs cykelvägen med undantag för de sista några hundra meter. Den Surfside Beach shuttle är bara några hundra meter från huset, men bara löper till 18:00. Och du kan cykla till busshållplatsen om du vill buss och cykla på andra delar av om du blir trött, kommer bussen att ta med dig och din cykel hemma!

Surf: Surfside har fått sitt namn från vågorna och breda stränder längs södra stranden, perfekt för fiske, bad och sola. Vårt hus är bara en kort promenad eller cykel från stranden. Det finns en paviljong där med duschar och toaletter, om du önskar, och Livgardet är närvarande, eftersom vågorna kan vara stora. Om du är äventyrlig, kan du promenera ner till stranden till ett mer avlägset område eller ens (1/2 mi. Ner till stranden och runt mot väster) ett nakenbad!

Cykling: Nantucket har skapat en underbar cykelväg system som man kan rida i säkerhet. Bikepaden ligger bara 100 meter från huset och tar en antingen till stranden, till stan eller kopplar till surfsidan, Siasconset och Polpis cykelvägar för resor runt ön. Perfekt för barnvagnar, cyklar, hästar, promenader, hundar ... allt som är unmotorized. Bred och väl underhållna.

Perfect in Every Way!!

Patty hosted us on a lovely trip to Nantucket to celebrate my wife and I’s anniversary, and I cannot express enough just how wonderful of a house this is! Cozy space with impeccable details and a spectacular patio. Central location on the island, and plenty of peace and quiet. We will be back!

Exceeded our expectations!

Our stay at Dalliance was wonderful! The pictures do not do it justice. At the end of a cul-de-sac, the property is quiet and secluded. The outdoor space is lush with greenery and wildlife passing through. I loved visiting Fifi, the owner's horse, and feeding her carrots. The cottage is cozy, yet spacious. Every detail has been considered and we immediately felt relaxed and at home. This is a property I would definitely return to.

Perfect stay in a perfect house!

We are a family of four including our two children ages 13 and 14. We stayed for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Patti keeps this house so beautifully maintained and clean. I’ve honestly never seen a rental house so nice. It had everything that we needed right down to a complete set with lids of small Tupperware containers to take things to the beach. The outdoor beach closet is such a nice touch to keep sand out of the house, and we adored the outdoor shower, which became our favorite thing at the end of each day. Patti was always available if needed, but never intrusive.

Wonderful surfside stay

We enjoyed our stay at dalliance. What a beautifully decorated pristine house in a perfect location near surfside. The outdoor cedar shower and backyard are absolutely wonderful. The house is fully stocked with everything you need for a day at the beach. Highly recommend this property. Can’t wait to come back.

Dalliance Rental

Absolutely the BEST rental property I have ever discovered on Nantucket! Patty and Mike's home is clean, beautiful, comfortable and the location is terrific. The outdoor patio and grill lends itself to fabulous summer entertaining. It is a quick trip to any of the beautiful beaches and close to town. A wonderful rental for vacations, weddings etc..I will be back again this summer!!!

A Slice of Heaven

We can't say enough about Patty and Mike's vacation home. It was gorgeous and comfortable with everything you could ask for. Patty was an amazing hostess and gave us just the right amount of privacy while making it clear she was available for anything we needed. The outdoor shower was divine. The beach is in walking distance and the sound of the waves can be heard at night through the skylight in the master bedroom. A car is helpful for going into town but there is also a shuttle bus stop within easy walking distance if preferred. We can imagine being regular summer renters and are already looking forward to returning!!

Lovely Property & People

Dalliance is a beautiful home and Patty & Mike are great hosts! We stayed for a week with our 2 year old son, and everyone enjoyed it. The place is lovely, clean and functional. The outdoor shower is amazing! Our little guy got a thrill out of feeding the horse carrots each day! The photos do not do this place justice!!! We left our car on the mainland, but Patty was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off again at the ferry. We also appreciated the fact that she was always available via email to answer quick questions or update us on the Mid-Island Market! Could go on and on, but words (like pictures) won't do Dalliance or its owners justice. We recommend you see it for yourself!

Great Experience!

This cottage was even nicer in person than in the pictures. It was very private and quiet with a beautiful porch and backyard. We had breakfast out there every morning. It was so peaceful and relaxing. There is one bathroom and two bedrooms upstairs with very comfortable beds, a queen in one and two single beds in the other. The house was immaculate. And the details that went into the design of the house were simply amazing. The house is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach, right down Surfside Dr.which is about a block away. Or you can get on a shuttle bus, but we never did after the first time, once we realized how close the beach was. My personal recommendation would be to walk down Surfside, but you can take another path to the beach which lets you out in a less populated section of the shore. But then you are rather far from the bathrooms and concession area. The island is really easy to get around via any of several shuttle buses, but they run somewhat infrequently and, apart from the Surfside bus which also goes to town, they are a bit of a hike to get to. The problem with the Surfside bus is that it only runs until 6PM, as it is intended for the beach goers. If we had to do it again, we would rent bicycles or a scooter. I think a car would be more trouble than it's worth. There's quite a bit of traffic in town during the season. In town, there are a number of very good restaurants, but nothing really reasonably priced, apart from the sidewalk storefront places. In the "Mid-Island" area, the Seagrill was great, but also pricey. I cannot say enough good things about the property owners. They were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. But they also respected our privacy. All in all, you couldn't ask for better hosts.

A Slice of Heaven!

Staying at this cottage is a slice of heaven to me. It is situated on a lovely piece of property that feels completely private. You can hear the ocean and it is a mecca for birds and bunnies. I also love the occasional whinny from the lovely horse at the barn nearby. The house is exceptionally beautiful. Its design is pure Nantucket but with the modern amenities. The craftsmanship is outstanding, everything is so tastefully done and well made. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. It is very clean and filled with light. The house is filled with art by Nantucket artists and has beautiful books that you can read on a rainy day. I first rented this cottage last summer and could not have imagined a better place for a sabbatical. It is a eight-minute walk to the beach and oasis of calm in the busy summer months. I have rented it again this summer and long to have a place like this in my future. I recommend this cottage highly.

Nantucket's best kept secret

Nantucket is a very special place and this is a wonderful, clean home. We could not have been happier with our choice of lodging on the Grey Lady. Location, location, location...so close to the beach (12 min. walk to Surfside - via a flat, paved bike path). We walked into town via the bike path & it took less than 1/2 hour - really easy (there's even a water fountain on the bike path) and the exercise wasn't bad for us either. Two large & lovely bedrooms, each with window & skylight that are great for the summer breezes. The downstairs was is comfy and spacious. Loved the fireplace, the wall of french doors and oh yea, if you so desire, central air & heat. The kitchen is large, open and has plenty of counter space. We enjoyed breakfast on the patio and afternoon tea on the back porch. There is a wonderful collection of artwork throughout this house, which only added to the warm feel of the home. In short, we loved the house, loved the location & look forward to returning.

Let me introduce you to my family. I am Patty. I married Mike in 1990 after meeting here on the island. We bought our land in 1991 and Mike designed and built Dalliance for us the following year.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We fell in love with the property the moment we saw it. The location is so perfect - close to the beach, to town, to mid island shopping and to the bike path, yet tucked away on the culdesac and private.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

One of the unique benefits of our home is that it is near to everything but secluded at the same time. The house is perfectly oriented North/ South, with the outdoor living space to the sunny, breezy south shore. There are lush natural plantings all around it. You can hear the waves pounding and the faraway summer sound of voices of children playing wafting on the breeze.
