If you need a few more amenities during your day of fun in the sun, head one block further north to the Byrd Street public beach access. In addition to a large parking lot with numerous free parking spaces, this beach access in Kitty Hawk also provides a wooden walkway that leads over the sand dune and onto the shoreline, as well as outdoor showers and an in-season lifeguard station.
