Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that so many comfort, maintenance, and safety concerns affected your stay. We especially regret the heating issue and that you did not feel adequately informed about when it would be repaired. We also take your comments about the portable heater sparking, the outlet near the stove counter, extension cords under rugs, unsecured throw rugs, and limited grab bars very seriously. These items will be shared with our maintenance and management teams for prompt review. We also appreciate you identifying the broken green chair, loose towel rack, faulty and missing hair dryers, uncomfortable beds, closet access issue, lack of dressers, and limited comfortable indoor seating. Your suggestions regarding clearer labeling of light switches and providing instructions for the fireplaces and televisions are also very helpful. We’re sorry the property did not provide the level of comfort, communication, and functionality you expected. Thank you again for documenting these concerns so thoroughly. Your feedback gives us a clear list of areas that need attention and improvement for future guests.

HI Shannon, Thank you so much for such a great review! We are happy to hear you and your families had such a great time at this home and that it was accommodating for the littles. We hope to see you again on your next Northern Michigan vacation! Sincerely, Northern Michigan Escapes staff

Hi Jill, Thank you for the positive review! We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us as well as the decor. We hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, The Staff at Northern Michigan Escapes

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear the location on the South Arm and easy access to Lake Charlevoix were highlights of your stay. We’re also happy the large kitchen, coffee bar, mini fridge, dining space, and room for board games helped make parts of the visit enjoyable. That said, we’re very sorry to hear that the exterior maintenance, beach access, furnishings, beds, doors, bathrooms, and master bedroom did not meet expectations. We understand how disappointing it is when the condition of a property does not match the price paid or the experience anticipated. Your comments about the clogged gutters, exterior shower area, grills, deck condition, missing shingles, unsafe steps to the shore, loose railing, and beachside sitting deck are serious and will be shared with our maintenance and management teams for review. Safety and upkeep are very important, and we appreciate you identifying these concerns in detail. We also apologize for the interior issues you described, including the toilet seats, living room couch, bunk beds, mattresses, noisy doors, and master bedroom concerns. These items will be shared with the property owner as well so they can be reviewed for repair, replacement, and improvement. Thank you again for bringing these concerns to our attention. We regret that the home did not fully deliver the experience you expected, and your feedback helps us identify where meaningful updates and maintenance are needed for future guests.

Dear Monica Southward, We're very disappointed in your review as we offered a generous refund and offered to transfer you to another home, since you were not satisfied with your stay. You declined the transfer and accepted our refund. Our photos are up-to-date online, and the home reflects our photos. While we appreciate your feedback, we would have appreciated a higher rating as we responded to all of your phone calls in a timely manner, and addressed your concerns to ensure you had a positive experience with us. In the future, we suggest you reserve a home after reviewing all of the listed photos to avoid any concerns with the aesthetic of the home. In the meantime, we will forward your feedback regarding some of the items listed below. Sincerely, Northern Michigan Escapes

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful and detailed review. We’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the spacious layout and cabin charm of the home, which worked well for your group of 11 during your large family vacation. It’s wonderful to know the beautiful setting on the calmer South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, private beach, and stunning sunset views helped make your week memorable. We’re also glad our property management team was able to promptly resolve the maintenance issue you experienced, as guest comfort and responsiveness are always priorities. We appreciate your honest feedback about the boating and outdoor areas. Your comments regarding the shallow water around the pier, lack of cleats, and the limitations of the older lift will be reviewed with the property owner so we can explore possible improvements for future guests. We’re also sorry you needed to spend time cleaning the outdoor furniture before use, and we’ll address this with our housekeeping team to ensure patio and beach seating are ready upon arrival. Overall, we’re happy your week was enjoyable, and we’re grateful for the insights you’ve provided. Your feedback helps us refine both the guest experience and property readiness so future stays can be even better. We’d love the opportunity to welcome you and your family back for another Northern Michigan getaway.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're absolutely delighted to hear that your family of 8 had such a marvelous time in what you described as a magical setting. It means the world to us that your adult kids rated the vacation a perfect 10/10! We're glad the rental provided the ideal blend of space for both gathering together and enjoying some quiet reading time. It’s great to hear that the large kitchen worked well for multiple cooks, and that you all enjoyed the sandy beach, swimming by the dock, dining on the deck, and relaxing by the campfire. The comfort of the bedrooms and bathrooms is always a priority, so we're pleased to know it worked so well for your group. We’d love nothing more than to welcome you back next year for another memorable stay. Thank you again for your kind words, and we look forward to hosting you again!
