Up North getaway

This was the last minute booking because of unexpected cancellations on both ends. George was extremely easy to work with and beyond helpful. The cottage is just as described with beautiful sunset views, and easy access to the lake. We spent many hours on the raised deck outside playing games. There was a mid week issue with the pontoon boat, but George went out of his way to have it fixed and back to us as soon as possible. The 4th of July fireworks on the lake are not to be missed!! Highly recommend this listing to future guests.

Fun Time on Walloon Lake

The property was perfect for our family vacation. The house worked well for us, our adult children and Grandkids! The pontoon boat rental is a must do!! Ice cream in Walloon Village, by boat, was a treat!

Pretty perfect.

We love Walloon Lake and this cottage was perfect for our family of seven, three sisters and spouses, and one teenager, who, headed immediately for the paddle boards and kayaks. We went up in late August so the lake was pretty warm and good for swimming. The cottage has a great location. It was nice to have grocery stores 15 minutes away, golf up the hill, the Barrel Back for dinner, and a movie theatre nearby when it rained one night. The cottage has been completely updated and has a fresh feeling with light wood floors and walls, a big table for dinners and games, lots of windows with those beautiful lake views and a quiet loveliness. It’s not an overly large space but the open layout made it easy to cook, hang out and watch movies together (great wifi but no cable). But our favorite spot in the cottage was the covered porch. We sat out there all the time: comfortable chairs, great view of the lake and sunsets, close to the kitchen for snacks. The best. For private time, the bedrooms were actually nice enough to prop up the pillows and spend some time reading. Three of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms that made for a nice couples retreat as well. Our nephew got the only bedroom without its own bathroom (of course) but as a consolation, he had his own outdoor deck. Linens were provided. Being pretty picky, I hauled my own linens up there but didn’t need to. Nice cotton summer blankets and sheets, all freshly washed. At night, we opened the windows and shades and on clear nights, you could see the long reflection of the moon on the water. If I could ever have a cottage up north, this would be it.

More than advertised!

What a property! This home had it all! Renovated interior, a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds and the toys! Kayak's, SUP's and a giant area in the lake for our children to play safely. They loved being able to jump off the dock and we loved knowing they could stand! Sunset's on the rooftop patio on the lake were amazing. Lastly, take up the owner on the pontoon rental. There is a great restaurant and general store that you can boat to. You literally to do not need to drive anywhere to get provisions. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you!

Lovely Lake Getaway

The Walloon Lake cottage was picture perfect, sparkling clean, aesthetically and appropriately furnished, comfortable, and a great place for our family lake getaway. The owner was responsive and the rental process was a breeze. The location on the lake was ideal with lots of yard, deck and dock space, ample furnishings and an assortment of fun toys for enjoying the outdoors, water and sunsets. Truly a gem and we hope to back again next year!

Excellent Family Vacation

We loved staying at this property and will again. George was very easy to work with and the property was just as advertised. Beautiful views, clean and spacious newly renovated cottage and great dock with kayaks and paddle boards to keep everyone entertained on the lake. We can't wait for our next visit back.

Excellent Home and Location!

This is a beautiful house, all as shown. It's very well equipped and close to lots of activities.... golf, yoga, fun happenings in Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Boyne. The lake is beautiful, and we rented a boat one day from Tommy's in Walloon.

Perfect Cottage Location on Walloon Lake

Have stayed at this wonderful cottage multiple times as it is the best on Walloon Lake. Owner has done an amazing job keeping this cottage updated with everything you might want. It is definitely a place with the most beautiful Walloon lake views from porch, dock, boathouse deck (one of only a few left on lake) and upstairs lookout. Has all the modern amenities with a crisp, New England style cottage appeal. We loved the dock to lounge the days away and used the cottages two SUPs and kayaks almost everyday. Super convenient to get to Petoskey and Charlevoix is great too. Dreaming of Walloon!

This was our second time renting this beautiful cottage on Walloon Lake and we were so happy to be back! The owner, George, is great to work with and is very responsive and attentive. The property is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. The upgraded dock is really large and so nice with room for our family of six and our baby grandson's little wading pool. We enjoyed fishing off the dock, paddle boarding and kayaking so much! We also rented George's new pontoon boat and enjoyed many outings on the beautiful lake! The cottage is very clean and the 3 large bedrooms and private baths made it so convenient for our family of six. The fourth bedroom upstairs is the perfect size for children with a pull out couch and room for a crib. It was a wonderful vacation and we will definitely rent this beautiful cottage from George again!

This Is The One

July of 2017 was our second stay in this cottage and it was every bit as memorable as the first. The cottage is clean, updated, and well appointed with new cottage furnishing and updated bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and cookware is like new. The views from the porch, deck, and dock are phenomenal. The paddle boards, in additional to the two kayaks that can be used at will, were a fun upgrade. We're already making plans to return next year.

Perfect Walloon Vacation Spot

Our experience could not have been better. The location of this darling cottage is ideal. There are stunning lake views from every room. Our two teenage boys loved the large dock, with kayaks, paddle boards, and even an optional boat rental. The porch was so peaceful in the morning having coffee, in the rocking chairs, to the evenings enjoying the sunset. The house has a new kitchen, with good size bedrooms, with their own lovely baths. It was qaintly decorated, not cluttered, but has everything you could possibly need. We inquired about buying the cottage from the owners, if that tells you how much we liked it!!!!

Cottage Comfort

We were extremely happy with this Walloon gem! We had a family join us here and there and had plenty of space to enjoy each others company! It was so clean and well kept up! My sons especially loved to swim, fish, kayak and paddle board all right there off the dock. Sunsets were amazing to gaze upon until late evening. George is a wonderful man to work with. I'm hoping he will put in a fire pit next year! Hint, hint, lol! My family was so thankful to have gotten to stay at this comfy cottage!!!!

Exceeds expectations!

We stayed in this lovely 3 bedroom cottage and were overjoyed with the accommodations. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of four. Just enough space to be together for meals and family chats along with privacy when desired. We loved the porch overlooking the waters of Walloon with our morning coffee and wine in the evenings to watch the sunset. Our college aged daughters enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards provided by the owners. We had fun catching fish right off the dock. We love the peaceful setting of Walloon and hope to rent this cottage again.

Beautiful lakeside cottage with breathtaking views!

Our family recently stayed at this beautiful cottage on Walloon Lake in September 2015. The cottage was so lovely and clean with a beachy feel to it and the furnishings were very comfortable. The three bedrooms were luxurious and cozy with gorgeous lake views and the updated private bathrooms with the double sinks and bathtubs were perfect for the six of us! The outdoor space was just as beautiful as the inside with a lovely porch and cozy adirondack chairs and a picnic table overlooking the lake where we enjoyed a few dinners while gazing at the beautiful sunsets. The owner, George, was friendly and accommodating and great to work with. We will definitely rent from him again as soon as we can!

Great Family Vacation

Charming Walloon Escape

Everything was perfect - from the overall decor to the appliances in the kitchen and even the chairs on the dock - making the stay just wonderful. It was easy to ease right into vacation mode. Every bedroom overlooks the lake and with two porches and a balcony everyone can find their place to escape or spend time together. The ride in was so picturesque, the rolling hills into Petoskey - awe-inspiring! Our family enjoyed every minute at this beautiful cottage on Walloon Lake!

Great Vacation!

This was the second year we spent at this cottage as a family. The cottage is clean and very classy. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and the sunsets were beautiful. The kids loved the boat and the cottage had plenty of room for the five of us.

Absolutely Perfect Cottage and Location on a Beautiful Lake!

We just returned from a weeks stay at Walloon Lake with our 10, 8 and 6 year old and could not have been more pleased with the cottage and location. The cottage is located on the perfect spot on the lake to enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the well positioned decks, back porch or the dock while dangling your feet in the clear water. The cottage is very comfortable, clean, updated and well thought out for vacationers to enjoy. The owner was very attentive to ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy the week. Walloon Lake is a beautiful lake with a great vibe - friendly people, great area with a bakery, local shops and a restaurant to boat to which we did many times. The location is also a short drive to downtown Petoskey, Bay Harbor, Charlevoix and Harbor Springs to enjoy boutique shopping and great restaurants. We would highly recommend this property and look forward to a return visit!

AMAZING Walloon Lake Retreat!

My family has been travelling to Wallon Lake every summer for the past 15 years. Last year we discovered this wonderful cottage and returned again this summer. It is immaculate, cozy, but has modern amentities. Every bedroom has a bathroom which is great for kids or for sharing with another family. The sunsets are amazing and the boat is an added perk! We will continue to book this property for many summers to come. Best spot on the Lake!

Perfect Family Vacation July 2012

The cottage was absolutely charming and and the location on the lake was perfect! It was spotless and was equipped with everything needed. My first thought upon walking in was, "this is much nicer in reality than the pictures on the web site looked"! The layout of the cottage was perfect for our group, it allowed for a good balance of family time along with privacy. The kayaks and the boat provided for many hours of fun on the water. We left with many fond memories of family and fun! The owner was very easy to work with and answered any questions we had in a very timely manner. I would recommend this cottage to friends or relatives without hesitation! It truly is a little piece of heaven.

Your place was absolutely perfect! This was our eleventh year renting at Walloon, and your cottage ranks at the very top. It is so cute, immaculate, and the location is ideal (beautiful sunsets!) We loved sipping coffee on the porch in the morning and wine on the dock at night. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us!
