Beautiful spot. The cottage location exceeded my expectations and the hiking just steps from it was convenient and plentiful. Everything you could need for peaceful retreat. Hosts are so knowledgeable and gracious and take immense pride in their town and property.

Beautiful cabin

Larry and Yvonne was wonderful hosts. This was our second time staying, but a different time of year. The area has so much to do and some great restaurants.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Although our time here was short, it was a nice area to be away from city life. The property offered amazingly mountain views and was very warm and cozy when it snowed.

Wonderful Little Cottage

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Larry’s cottage. It was well-equipped with everything we needed and nestled in a beautiful location. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, Larry offered to extend our stay. Even though we couldn’t stay longer, we truly appreciated his kind gesture. We’d love to return for another visit in the future!

Relaxing getaway in White Mountains

Hosts were wonderful and full of information for our stay. My husband and I found places nearby to fish, hike, kayak and just explore then came back to relax for evening in this secluded cottage.

Like home and very friendly

We stayed 3 days and loved that we could cook all our own meals in an actual kitchen! Very nice bed and couch and nice linens, and very clean. So many great books on the shelf and helpful maps and information from Larry and Yvonne. Want to go back this winter!

Cozy Winter Getaway

We had everything we needed here for a peaceful, relaxing getaway right in the middle of beautiful mountain scenery. Our host, Larry, was so kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the area. The Little House is thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and decorated beautifully. There's a cozy gas stove to warm you after snowshoeing on the vast network of trails in the area. A lovely place to enjoy winter's beauty.

Autumn hiking getaway

We had a marvelous time at this dear cottage with lovely hosts. The hiking in Randolph is fantastic and there are many other wonderful things to do in the area. We were grateful for the gorgeous view from the back deck and the EV charger. What a special place!

New Hampshire Bliss

The location was truly a romantic cabin nestled in the White Mountains. Our hosts had many suggestions on towns, sights, and restaurants to visit. And very knowledgeable about the area hiking trail. The weather was fantastic for us and we are sure to visit again.

The PERFECT Getaway!

My husband and I (and our dog) were looking to getaway for a long weekend, we loved it so much we extended our stay (luckily Larry & Yvonne, our hosts, had availability). The cabin and surrounding property are incredibly tranquil. It's so peaceful, but also close to amenities and great restaurants. We had such a great visit that we're already planning our next trip to this wonderful sanctuary! If we could give more than five stars, we definitely would!

A hidden gem!!

This place is amazing!! An adorable cottage where you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, yet you are 10 minutes outside of a town with awesome restaurants that are reasonably priced. My dog loved the snow and we all had a great time snowshoeing close to the property. I am almost tempted to give it a bad review, as it is so good, I don't want others to book it on us! I will be back!

Hikes, falls, and color

Stayed for 7 nights in mid Sept. Larry was a great host. Enjoyed many local hikes. Did Mt Hale from Zealand. There are lots of falls right next to the property. Spent a couple of hikes on the Ellis/Saco rivers. Fall colors were just coming. Swam a couple of times in the local rivers. Had a fire most nights behind the cabin. We had a very nice time.

Enjoyed Our Stay - Great Location

Larry’s VRBO cabin was a great location for my husband and I to base our Cross New Hampshire Trail bicycle ride. That was quite the adventure! There are two rail trails, rough dirt roads and paved roads to make our way across the state. Randolph, New Hampshire (where this cabin is located) is approximately the mid-point. Although we had quite a bit of rain on our stay, we had plenty of things to do in the area. One day we hiked from the Appalachia parking lot to view 4 waterfalls on a 2-mile hiking loop from that parking lot. Since there had been plenty of rain, the falls were flowing nicely, and it was quite pretty. We appreciated the bonus of having a screen house in the back of the cabin to enjoy the deck. There were a lot of biting bugs this year (probably because of the rain). Several breweries are within driving range, which we took advantage of as well.

Such a beautiful cottage and peaceful location! We enjoyed relaxing on the back deck and being immersed in nature. Many trails just a walk from the cottage and rhe rail trail is minutes away.The owners were very welcoming, readily available and more than happy to share their knowledge of the area. The kitchen is well equiped, super comfy bed and linens provided.Thank you Larry & Yvonne for sharing your special place with us. You have created such a peaceful, welcoming space.We will be back! House was better than advertised. Beautiful location , just what we always thought a New England cabin would be. See photo off deck. Larry was a pleasure to talk to and he knows the area and interesting stuff. Mt. Washington and White Mountain great trips to go along with the Presidential Mountains from the house. 1st time in New England and will be back.

Everything was clean and perfectly in working order. House was nice and private. Great views of Mt. Adams and Madison. Free to roam the entire property which was beautiful. Larry was extremely helpful and friendly and knew the area very well so he gave us a lot of suggestions/ guidance on what to do. We look forward to another visit.

Perfect getaway - off the beaten path with outdoor gorgeousness all around. There are no bells or whistles with this cabin - which was absolutely fine with us, as we had everything we needed and felt right at home. The owners made us feel so welcome and were always available, and everything on the property was clean and lovingly maintained. There are plenty of things to do in the area, but the backyard was our haven - gorgeous views and a peaceful place to listen to the sounds of nature while sipping coffee with a good book. We had the time of our lives here and would highly recommend this property to anyone who craves a quiet, peaceful, calm place to relax and reset.

My wife and I just returned from an eight night stay at Larry and Yvonne’s beautiful property. The cottage itself was cozy, very comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. Larry and Yvonne were generous, and well informed hosts. What they have created amounts to a private resort for both themselves, and their guests, in the heart of a majestic mountain landscape. We have spent the past 36 years creating a self sustained lifestyle. Everything is owner designed and built, including the buildings, landscaping and gardens. We are both retired Larry, a former woodworker, and Yvonne a librarian. We enjoy our beautiful mountain setting and are excited to share it with you.

Varför värden valde detta boende

This cottage was built and used as an apartment while we were constructing our larger home on the same property, which was chosen because of the spectacular views of the Northern Presidentials. Our dream of converting it into a vacation rental is now complete.

The property allows you to get away and yet be close enough to everything you need. The small town setting is friendly, welcoming, and includes many seasonal acitivities without the congestion of typical tourist destinations.
