You can't go wrong in Rockport

The Gott House was another pretty bit of Rockport. Beautiful scenery, walkable neighborhood, and shopping and dining nearby added up to a wonderful stay.

A great place to enjoy Boston and Cape Ann

We enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House in the picturesque coastal town of Rockport. The house is a short walk to many interesting places; the town of Rockport, Bear Skin Neck, Shops, Restaurants, Rockport Hah-bah, Beaches, Headlands, Scenic By-Way, etc. This small small coastal town is a destination and parking can be limited during the peak season and special events, something to keep in mind. The rental includes two parking spaces and the town is easily walkable. The Carriage House has plenty of indoor and outdoor space to unwind and relax, it is comfortable and well equipped for an enjoyable stay and would easily accommodate 8 people.

Wonderful Experience!

My friends, husband, and I had a wonderful stay at this property. The property is located in very close walking distance of downtown, which made it easy to grab coffee and food throughout our stay. In addition, the property is incredibly clean and has plenty of amenities. I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful & cozy beach weekend with friends!

My friends and I travelled from all over the States and Canada for a weekend together, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at! It was homey, clean, and super accessible to the train, beach, and shops in Rockport. We loved spending time in the living room & cooking and eating meals together. Also, what a beautiful house! Thank you Jonathan and Ellie :)

Another great stay at the Barn!

I have stayed here with my family for quite a few years and it never disappoints. The house is very clean and spacious, with room for all of us. The kitchen is excellent and we have many meals there, although we do like to go out to many of the excellent restaurants which are an easy walk from the property. It is located next to the shops as well. I would recommend this property highly and hope to be back next year.

Beautiful house with ideal location

We have stayed at this property for our summer vacations for years, and it's a perfect Rockport spot. The house is wonderful, we love the backyard / grill / outdoor seating, and it's just a few steps from downtown and beaches. I would give this house 10 stars if I could!

Never disappointed!

Once again we enjoyed our stay at this Gott Street property. The location is ideal. Only steps from shops and restaurants. The property is clean and well maintained. The hosts are friendly and quick to respond to any issues. We have already rebooked it for next year.

Our stay was spoiled by non functioning a/c, in fact the heat was on, and windows that did not open in the middle of a heat wave. The house looks lovely and is in a prime location, but we found the beds hard and the noise of traffic disturbing. We left the following day.

Never disappoints!

We were so happy to return to the Gott place again this vacation - it's been five years. The Carriage House did not disappoint - from the convenient location to Bear Skin Neck to property amenities and grounds, we were so happy to be back in Rockport. Jonathan and Ellie are superb hosts. We look forward to continued stays in the future.

Very good

The picture looked as though the property was right on the water when , in reality, it was across the street. The property outside was beautiful and the house was spacious with plenty of room for 5 adults. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful place to stay

The entire experience was one of the best I've had with VRBO. The communication with the owners was easy and efficient; entry to the house straightforward; instructions and information extensive; and the house was exquisitely clean. Everything worked and the house was charmingly decorated. A bonus was that we could see the sea - a perfect location.

Wonderful vacation home

We have stayed here 4 times and each time has been a great experience. The house is well situated for us, everything in the center of Rockport is a short walk away. We love coming to Rockport and staying at The Barn. Everything is clean and welcoming and the hosts are very responsive. Our stay is always too short and we hope to be back next summer.

East Coast Vacation Paradise

Property was well appointed with everything neede fir a very comfortable stay. The kitchen was great as we cooked meals at the property. The bathrooms were situated at udeal locations. The room on the second floor with the futon was declared the man cave by the children. The common spaces allowed for comfortable relaxation when needed. There was access to three seperate outdoor spaces and we made use of them all. The location of the property was ideal for easy access to beaches, the Neck and the Headlands. We would certainly look at using this property again if visiting Rockport with family.

Rockport summer vacation

We are familiar with Cape Ann and have stayed at a home in Gloucester few times. This time we decided to stay in Rockport. This carriage house was perfect for us. There were six of us but seven would have fit fine as well. The location is perfect for walking to all the shops, restaurants and two nearby beaches. Our favorite beach is Wingaersheek though so we drove there. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved both outdoor seating areas. The flowers in the yard are just gorgeous!

Great location in near Bearskin Neck

We have stayed at this property many times and it never disappoints. It is well maintained and spotless. The locations is ideal and close to all the shops and restaurants. It is a short walk to Back Beach too. The property offers plenty of space to relax both indoors and out. I guess the best thing to say about it is that we have already booked it again for next summer!

We are Jon and Ellie and we welcome you to be our guests at The James Gott Homestead. I was born and raised on the North Shore while Ellie was raised in coastal Maine. We have lived and traveled throughout the United States but we have always been drawn back to the beautiful town of Rockport MA.

Varför värden valde detta boende

After spending almost two years searching for the right property we were shown the James Gott Homestead in the dead of winter and we fell in love. Drawing on the experiences we had renting vacation homes for our family over the years we tried to design the "best " summer vacation rental. We have renovated two of the four units into beautiful, luxury comfortable family vacation rentals. Two different buildings each with its own unique charm and character but each very Rockport.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

This is a very unique home. We are located right downtown on the 4th of July parade route yet, we have a beautiful flower filled back yard that is a very peaceful and tranquil oasis. This unit has two off street parking spaces. We have two beautiful sandy beaches less than a half mile stroll from your back door, we provide a cart for beach chairs coolers and other beach necessities. There is also a parking pass for Long Beach and Cape Hedges Beach.
