Nice unit, just a little on the old and dirty side

Nice unit, needs updated. Somewhat on the dirty side, floors were filthy, feet turned black within seconds of walking on floors.

Love Sandpiper Cove!

Sandpiper Cove condo 1117

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at Sandpiper Cove Condo 1117 January and February of 2024. When we booked the rental, the booking age t said it was a nice unit. We should have looked at the reviews. We were disappointed with the condo.The condo is in need of repairs. The living room curtain is old and stained. The bedroom curtain is deteriorating from age and sun exposure. The grouting has come out of some of the tiles on the floor and shower in the bathroom. There is not a light fixture at the bathroom mirror making it difficult to see to apply makeup or shave.Then after we checked out and returned home a package of mine was delivered to the condo. I called Sandpiper office to ask them to check if it was on the porch of the condo. They said that there was nothing they could do. Fortunately I new someone who lived there and they retrieved my package.

Beautiful Beach Location

Great convenient location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location of the unit is great; nice & convenient. Easy access to the beach from the back door off the porch to the boardwalk & less crowded at this end of the property. Parking is steps from the front door. Management staff was friendly & responsive. We’ve stayed at several Sandpiper units over the years. The unit itself needs some basic repairs, updating & ddep cleaning, caulk and repaint base boards (base boards were filthy), no shower caddy/shelving to place shampoo (shower caddy was broken), missing & inop TV remotes, missing lock/latch on rear sliding door. Furnishings were ok but not practical for the space; coffee table too big for sofa area, dining table/chairs don’t fit well in the area; bedoom furniture/matress could be updated & the commode sits very low & is ackward. Small investment into repairs & furnishings could go a long way. If it weren’t for the location & being pet friendly, we would probably not stay in this unit again merely for the lack of cleaniness & forementioned things. Would recommend but with mention of the cons

Will never return

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would never stay in this unit again. The fridge froze my diabetic medication and I had to pay $580.00 out of pocket for replacements. The dishwasher was rusted out and broken and the computer modem didn't work. All these items ended up eventually being replaced. This unit was very dirty, the ceramic tile floor throughout the unit was cracked and filthy. The drapes in the living room and bedroom were filthy and full of holes. The bedspread had holes in it.

The check in process was a mess.

The property was in need of a serious upgrade. The 1 king size bed was two twin versions put together and the mattress had a huge dip in it that you would roll into! No place in the shower to place your soap or shampoo, the sofa was ripped, and the flooring was cracked and dirty. One if the kitchen cabinets smelled like a rat died in it. On the other hand, the location was great!

My Honest Opinion

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I went for a 3 night stay. We love Destin and this was our first time staying at Sandpiper Cove. I was pleasantly surprised and also disappointed. The unit was clean and nicer than the reviews I’d read. However, I was disappointed that it wasn’t “truly beachfront” although it was a short walk from the sand dunes off the deck to the beach. I also was disappointed the decks are not private, they are shared with the condo next door and the rooms adjoin which I didn’t like, although the two doors to the adjoining rooms were locked. There were other things I am little nitpicky about but that’s just because we paid over $2,000 and I feel it could’ve reflected price better, so it didn’t feel worth the money in my opinion. Although it was a nice stay overall, I do not think I would rent there again based on what you get for the price.

False advertising

Ad says beach front condo but they don't tell you there is a bank of sand so high you can't see water and have to go up and over bank to see water. Condo was filthy.we only had 3 days to stay so we didn't have time to find other place.i would not recommend this place at all. I would not own this condo.

The dishwasher top rack was completely rusted and unusable. The tile and baseboard were stained and broken. The couch was stained. The bathroom had mold. And there were huge nasty bugs. The deck is awesome but there was a bunch of animal poop in the back corner everywhere.

In need of TLC

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental is a one bedroom beach side unit which is just steps from the beach. It does not have a great view because it is one the first floor and the dunes block the view of the beach. The unit is in dire need of new furnishings and new floors and some paint. The dishwasher needs replacing. The top shelf will not pull out and it is rusted inside. The spin cycle on the washing machine sounds like a jet taking off. The bath has a stand up shower only which is fine with me but there is no where to put your soap or other items. Also there is no make up mirrors in the bathroom. Other than this, as I said the unit is in close proximity to the beach and the price reflects the problems mentioned.

Great Get Away !!!

Great Sandpiper Getaway May 2021

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We LOVED it! Condo was nice and perfect location. We were very comfortable there, with our dogs, and had a great patio overlooking dunes to beach. There were stains in carpet in bedroom, but we rented pet friendly, and there was never an odor, so it wasn't a problem. Bathroom sink drained real slow, leaving residue from soap/toothpaste, but no big deal. Glad there was a broom and dust pan available for quick sand clean up during stay. Furniture was clean and in good shape. Moved glass coffee table for more room. Very easy access to beach and grounds were very clean. Office staff was very nice and friendly. Very little noise heard anywhere and we had families with small children and dogs next to us. Soundproof walls were great! We didn't make it to all of the restaurants we wanted to, so we will definitely be back! Short drive to many eating destinations and grocery stores. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend. Double red flags for water & high wind conditions, so we weren't allowed in water, but that just gave us more time to enjoy sitting watching waves and eating. Rick's Sand Trap on beach was nice and great pina coladas! Food looked great and many eating.

This property was great! Only down side was the condo has been heavily used and the furniture, carpet, and appliance show that BUT the condo was clean and we really enjoyed being able to walk out the back door and be on the beach. The “back deck” is shared with the other condo and that’s not mentioned in the description.

Perfect setting, needs some TLC

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The setting of the condo could not be better! Steps from the beach, yet protected from the hot afternoon sun (due to the lower level and angle of the unit). Upon stepping inside the first thing we noticed was the smell-very musty! It was evident the whole complex needed some TLC (decks, siding, doors, etc), but this unit in particular could really use some love. There are no screens on the windows or sliding doors, so you can't have anything open to get that fresh ocean air. It could use a good cleaning, fresh coat of paint, and some newer furniture. We saw a cockroach on our kitchen floor one evening. Again, the location of the condo was so perfect, we could overlook some of these things. But it would be easy to come back with just a little love to the place!
