The Retreat at Clutter Falls är ett unikt specialbyggt fritidshus beläget på en klippa ovanför floden Guadalupe intill ett mindre pensionat (se VRBO # 4970329), mindre än en mil från Gruene Hall och 5 km från Schiltterbahn. Utsikten är otrolig och forsarna under huset (Clutter Falls) ger ett konstant, lugnande ljud som smälter bort stress. Njut av det från verandegången och vipparna på den täckta bakre verandan eller från loungestolarna på det övre solbadet.

Nice property

This is a nice property. Awesome location with a great view. We had a fantastic time while we were there. However, the house needed a serious scrubbing. I’m not one to complain but when the couple we were with mentioned it I knew I wasn’t being picky. It was actually a bit embarrassing. Great family getaway

The property was clean, the listing photos were accurate, and it had great amenities. We particularly loved the view from the upper deck. Adding or updating the patio furniture on the upper deck would be a nice touch.

Family wedding

We stayed w/ a family of 5, for Thanksgiving and a family wedding. We enjoyed the house, and it was a great location. Beautiful views from the porch and the hot tub!

Cozy and lovely

The property gave us everything we needed and more. The deck and the sound of the river rapids below was peaceful and calming. It was a good property and I would stay there again.

Lovely stay near Gruene

The house is conveniently located near Gruene and sits above the river. The patio provides a great setting to enjoy the sounds of the river peacefully in the morning. Everything was as stated in the listing. The kitchen has everything you need to utilize it for your needs fully. Bring shoes for the hot tub as it is down a rocky path. My only suggestion to the host is to consider providing extra towels for the hot tub and perhaps a couple of hooks near the hot tub to hang said towels. I suggest this location for your next stay!

Family Wedding

We were in Gruene for a family wedding and part of my party were in the groom/bridal party. We arrived at a beautifully furnished home overlooking the river. Five friendly deer welcomed us as we drove down the drive. The sounds of the rushing water from the river were fantastic. I am about as patient and understanding as they come. Things do happen. It was 76 degrees inside when we arrived at 8pm and 82 degrees the next morning. The air-conditioner was not cooling and it took several hours and ALOT of back and forth with management to get a repairman out. That is just not ok, especially when traveling with a 2 year old. The place was also not very clean, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the location to the historic district of Gruene, as well as river access for tubing, swimming etc., was great. If the property management can get a better handle on their cleaning and maintenance services, this could be a perfect choice!

Beautiful views

Amazing views of the river, the house in right on the edge of a cliff! Just a short drive to all the shops and eats! No river access, but still great place !
