Acadia Yurts erbjuder besökarna det mest unika sättet att bo på Mount Desert Island. En jurt är en tältliknande cirkulär tygkonstruktion med en ram av trägitter som har sitt ursprung bland nomadstammarna i Asien. Dessa permanenta, färgglada strukturer har tjocka ytterväggar på duk som inkluderar reflekterande isolering och en högeffektiv värmepump / AC-enhet så att du kan vara bekväm under alla säsonger. Wonderful Experience

This was a great, easy way to experience camping in Acadia. The place was clean, comfortable, and lots of fun. It had every creature comfort you would expect. We had a wonderful time in a quiet, beautiful setting. Thank you!

Heaven on the quiet side

My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!The grounds were lovely. The yurt was gorgeous, fully stocked and so cozy on even the rainiest of nights. The community room with laundry and games to share was a great added bonus. We didnt have time to use the wellness center, but look foward to returning and trying out the sauna. We much preferred being on this side of MDI. Quiet and secluded, but close enough to everything. Thank you for making our visit and our anniversary so special.

Outdoor Retreat

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Acadia Yurts! It was the perfect mix of outdoor adventure and glamping. Would HIGHLY recommend to everyone!

Amazing!

Staying at Acadia Yurts is a wonderful experience! You feel submerged in nature but are conveniently located to explore all of MDI. The hosts were wonderful to work with. We highly recommend!

Just book it already!

10/10 would recommend any day, any time. What a gem of a place to stay. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, great quiet location... the list goes on. Fantastic 'base camp' from which to partake in all that MDI has to offer.

Great home away from home!

The yurt was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for cooking meals. The laundry shed had an abundance of games and books and other extras to check out and share (like camp chairs to view the sunrise on Cadillac Mtn.) The location was close enough to other restaurants, shops, etc. but remote enough to be away from traffic. Loved it!

Peaceful Oasis in Southwest Harbor

We absolutely loved our time in the Dorr Mountain yurt. Incredibly spacious, stocked with all cooking needs, and thoughtful touches making the space super cozy. Highly recommend!

Heavenly....

Absolutely wonderful location, with all the comforts of home while ' Glamping' in a gorgeous setting. We have been coming to this area for years and will now continue our adventures in Acadia Yurts for all future trips.

Great getaway spot in close proximity to Acadia NP!

The Dorr Mountain yurt was the perfect getaway spot that was close to Acadia National Park. The yurt was well stocked with easy access to additional items such as onsite laundry. The yurt was clean and comfortable for our family of four. Communication from the owner was great.

Magical home base for Acadia

We had the loveliest time staying in our yurt. The kids said it was the coolest place they have ever stayed. Such a magical vibe. So peaceful. Incredible sky views. It was a perfect home base for exploring Acadia and bar harbor!

Amazing stay - highly recommend!

This was a perfect landing spot for our family’s first vacation with our 7-week-old. We were able to easily access Acadia National Park and the nearby downtown of Southwest Harbor was adorable. The yurt was clean, comfortable, and had everything you could dream of needing for a vacation stay. We even utilized the lobster pot one evening to steam our own fresh lobster thanks to great recommendation from the owners Aaron and Karen. A perfect stay!!

Loved Acadia Yurts!

We took over all of the yurts with a large group of friends for a week and had the best time- the yurts are clean and spacious and well stocked with everything we needed for the week. We highly recommend Acadia Yurts!

Fantastic Vacation

We had a great time staying at Acadia Yurts! Our yurt was immaculate when we arrived, cleaner than many hotel rooms. Lots of nice touches, such as a laundry basket, storage shelves and baskets, cleaning products, and even a little step stool in the bathroom for the kids. Convenient to Southwest Harbor but away from the crowds of Bar Harbor.

Perfect home base

We loved our stay at Acadia Yurts! It was the most ideal spot for all the places we wanted to visit. A easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor and also very close to the quieter side of Acadia. The other reviews are true- the shower is amazing after a long day out hiking! We are already trying to get family to go and stay. Highly recommend just booking it!

Best Family Vaca!

Acadia Yurts is just what we needed to reset and relax before the business of the school year begins! This simple way of living in the most quaint town in Maine with water and mountains 5 minutes away had everything we needed. Karen and Aaron have quite the operation going and have inspired us to downsize in our own home and enjoy the little things more! The yurt was larger than expected and had all the amenities we could ask for, even beach towels! I cannot say enough amazing things about this magical spot in the woods. We will be back and am already recommending to friends! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Must stay

A yurt vacation is a bucket list item and if you’re going to do it, this is the place. Our hosts were the best and literally were available for anything we needed, even when we requested last minute flashlights so we could hike Cadillac Mountain in the dark to arrive a sunrise (another bucket list item and must do). The location was ideal for both enjoying Acadia and all it has to offer as well as proximity to all 3 harbors. Every recommendation they had for food and activities was spot on. Oh…and eat at Beal’s…best seafood on MDI. Thanks for a vacation to remember and we’ll definitely be back.

Everything we needed & more!

Aaron & Karen are awesome and know how to ensure guests are relaxed, comfortable, and taken care of! The yurt was a fantastic way to be "comfortably" close to nature, easy access to EVERYTHING Acadia offers, and all the little considerations were evident. The property is wonderful, the water pressure from every faucet/shower was AMAZING, and even the sound machine to ensure the birds didn't wake us too early was a lovely and useful surprise! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to any family traveling to the area that wants to "camp" without camping!

Karen Roper är värd

Aaron is an Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for the past 15+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite.

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home- running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We deeply hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!!
