Really enjoyed staying here. Great location on the beach. We had 3 adults , 2 kids and 2 teens and there was plenty of room. Loved the swings on the deck facing the Gulf. No problems , comfortable and had a great time. Check in was smooth , kitchen well equipped, beds big and comfortable and good BBQ pit. Left you some charcoal. Go and have fun !

Family fun

The house setup is fantastic, and beach access is just a short walk away from the backyard. My only recommendation is to bring bottled water for drinking and washing bottles if you have a baby. There is a clean water faucet to the right when you’re facing the sink, but it's a small tank and can run out of water quickly, especially when caring for a baby and a two-year-old.

Perfect cozy close to the beach stay!

We loved our stay at this lovely home! It was perfect and had everything we needed pit. The fire pit was fabulous and we grilled hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill. We were just steps from the beach. We will definitely come again!

Beach birthday getaway

Wonderful stay. Clean and comfortable. Easy access to the beach. Being able to use the firepit was nice as we all wanted to be outside, but it was a bit chilly the weekend we stayed.

A few qwirks

The location was great and the layout of the house was perfect for us. Getting the house unlocked was tricky and after numerous attempts we got in. We couldn't get any hot water in the upstairs bathroom so the maintenance guy came and it seems one must turn the faucet just right or it goes back to cold. There was no body soap nor hair dryer which has never occurred before in all the rentals we have used.

Not bad, could be better

Clean, however, house needs many updates. The owner needs to spend some money in many areas to provide guest a better experience. Some light fixtures & sink fixtures look to be dated to 70's. Back deck was wonderful to sit and look at the ocean & beach. A very short walk through the backyard & sand dunes put you on the beach. Backside upstairs bedroom has a balcony overlooking the beach - it is required to go downstairs, step outside to then climb very steep steps to gain access to this balcony - not user friendly (particularly senior citizens) nor practical by any means.

Fantastic from row location but house needs a good cleaning/remodel

The proximity to the beach is unbeatable! Plus the backyard area is like a tiny private beach itself.The bedrooms are arranged well and the house although small, very comfortably sleeps 12.However, it could use an intense deep cleaning. It’s clear the housekeepers only do your basic sweeping of floors and wipe down of kitchen surfaces. Many areas were caked with dust and the kitchen walls shows signs of old food splatter. In addition some of the cookware was dirty and rusted. One of the kitchen barstools was splintered and had an exposed screw. Two of our party’s members cut their legs in it.This property has the potential to be a gem, but needs some serious TLC.

Christmas reunion

Our stay was lovely. They had the house decorated for Christmas which made our family exchange time even better. We lived being on the shoreline so we didn’t have to drive anywhere. We couldn’t have had a more enjoyable time.

The location was great, just steps from the beach. The house was clean, the beds comfortable and the air conditioning was cold. Cleaning supplies, bath & hair products and paper goods were supplied, which was a real bonus. Nice setup for families with beach toys, some games and books available. What keeps this from being a 5 star property is the condition of the house. The keyless entry did not work but fortunately keys are available. The upstairs shower was beautiful but no hot water, lukewarm at best. One of the window blinds fell out of the window frame when raising it because the wood around the windows were rotted. I emailed but no reply. It stormed one day pretty hard and the windows leaked. We had a bowl to catch the water and a few towels to soak up the rest. The top board of the railing was loose and gave away when my daughter put her hand on it, she thought she was going over the rail! That happened our last night there or I would have been calling someone. The only access to the upstairs deck was from outside and those steps were narrow and steep. The downstairs floors were unlevel and the linoleum was buckled in several places. A whole house water filter would be a major upgrade. The water smelled terrible, but that is a Surfside problem, not a homeowner problem. My reason for choosing this house was the ability to bring my dog which we decided not to. This house could be a total jewel if it had some major repairs. As is it is overpriced.

Worked of Us

The house worked for us. I loved the view of the ocean. We were however disappointed about the downstairs. The chairs were missing or turned over. We had promised the children scores. We managed a few (was windy) but could not sit around the fire pit.

This property is small and comfy, everything was ok, but the upstairs bathroom is nasty water not draining when u take shower and all water from faucets smells like rotten eggs and sulphur, refrigerator had mold growing inside, soap holder very rusty downstairs bathroom. On the beach but nothing to rinse off feet before coming back in house. Fire pit totally rusted out.

Great Location, Mediocre Home

The beachfront location and the multiple beds are about the only 2 things this house really has to offer. Nothing is really up to date (including photos) no tvs in the bedrooms (which is fine but I didn’t realize when I booked) The thermostat was set at 77 when we arrived. Very hot and muggy. Dishes still in dishwasher from previous guests. You can just tell the home has had very little Maintenance in comparison to other homes we’ve rented in Surfside. Out of all the homes we’ve stayed in, this one by far has the worst water. Most of our women refused to wash hair or shower as the smell was extremely intense. The write up says they have a water dispenser for drinking and cooking, however it ran out of water during our stay. Luckily we brought our own bottled water (which we also used to brush our teeth). The day of check in the manager texted me around 9:45am and asked if I was already at the beach house. I told her we were excited to be there but not yet. As check in isn’t until 4pm. I never got a response back so I was left wondering all day why she asked that? Felt it was poor communication. There was also confusion on checkout time. Some places stated 11am other places stated 10am. We left by 10 to be safe but again, didn’t really feel like there was enough communication. Overall we still had a good time but agreed we wouldn’t stay here again.

70th Birthday Getaway

We had a nice little getaway. The house was clean. A little small on the main level for our crew. Not enough seating. The house itself is very outdated. Most beds were comfortable, other than one of the beds in the master upstairs, bar in middle is uncomfortable to sleep in. Great location, walk to beach and close to restaurants. House manager was very accommodating, and would stay again if with a lighter crew.

Nice cottage with excellent access to the beach.

This cottage was just a few steps from the beach. We were also able to drive onto the beach which made it easy to take chairs, umbrellas, etc. There's a ramp in addition to the stairs so it's easy to get luggage up and down. The only negative was that the bathrooms are very small, but beach life doesn't require much makeup or hair styling so it worked. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay at this property!!

The description of the property location and amenities was very accurate and it was a beautiful place to stay!! Now that being said...we did have 2 issues we noticed. On our first night, we noticed the front right burner on the stove didn't work (but we weren't there to cook!) LOL We also didn't notice our 1st night, that the hot water was not really hot...but a good temperature for showers! However, while cleaning the kitchen the next morning, we realized the hot water was not really "that hot". After my husband checked...the breaker just needed to be thrown....then it was all good! Cleanliness wise the place was great. The only thing that made me question the depth of cleaning was that while looking for one of our two 2-year-old toys under a couch, I found a pair of men's boxer shorts that didn't belong to the 2 adult men with us! The house is great...we would definitely stay there again!

Nice little house on the beach, great location! My suggestions to the owners would be: Put a King size bed in the master bedroom downstairs (as advertised on the website) and really do a Deep cleaning! It's an older house with older issues but overall it was fine for our three days there.

You are paying for the view

This rental has a great view and is worth the price for that alone. That said, the rest is not that great. There are doors in the house that do not stay closed. Anytime someone goes up or down the stairs the whole house shakes and rattles. The cleaning crew does not do a very good job. We found cheese puffs in the sofa and other spots around that it seems they skipped over. The mattress in the master bedroom is very hard and you can feel the springs when you lay down on it. The toilet in the master bathroom had a loose connection to the floor and felt like it may tip over. If you stay here, remember, you are there for the view and don't expect much else.
