Twentieth Summer at OBX

The overall experience was great and beach access very convenient. The pool was a big hit for our grandson and relaxing time away from the beach.

Good place to stay

nice view of the ocean, good location. easy check-in, house was clean.tv's in BR's only, not in living.. not a big deal.Trash was full when we arrived but they took care of it same day.Only real issue is the bbq gas grill was disgusting and needs to be replaced.

Beach vacation with history to look at. I wanted to visit the Wright Brothers Museum. We had ample opportunities to stay on the beach as well and explore OBX.

A Nice Stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My wife, parents, brother, two dogs, and I stayed here from 6/15/25-6/22/25. We did early check in and the process was very smooth. The house has keyless entry so we didn't have to worry about keys. Upon entering the home, the upstairs had window a/c units in each bedroom and living room/kitchen. That wasn't part of the house description. After calling Carolina Shores, they told us the central a/c was broken and would be fixed the Monday or Tuesday of our stay. We were annoyed that we weren't told about it beforehand. It turned out to be fine, because the window units kept the house cool, although they were haphazardly installed in the windows and napkins were stuffed around the one. They ended up not coming to fix it during our stay because we didn't want to have to deal with our dogs and strangers in the home. The downstairs, however, was kept extremely cool with the mini split units. Other than that, this is a very nice house in a central location to restaurants, shops, coffee, etc. We really enjoyed the front sun room and the pool. There is no TV in the upstairs living room area, which was lame because the upstairs was a nice place to gather with our family. The beach access is right across the road up a hill on the dune. There were a lot of spiders in the downstairs bedroom and family room, but other than that we had a great stay here!

Could have been great but unfortunately it wasn’t.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great but unfortunately the owner did not respect our vacation and the time taken off and money put into this vacation. He made the decision to continue construction on the house while we were there. We picked up close to 100 nails when we first got there that were scattered all over the property. More than half of our vacation was spent with more than 10 people working all around the house. We were woken up at 730 am multiple morning with the sound of hammers and even a concrete truck. We were asked to come off of the beach to move our cars for the workers. The contractor entered the house without permission and my 10 year old son( who was laying in the bed of the room he entered) thought it was an intruder and closed his eyes real tight hoping he would be left alone. That will never leave his memory. We did not have hot water for two evenings and even had to have a plumber come out. We were refunded a tiny amount of money when considering the vacation was ruined. The owner, who had been communicative prior to this, decided not to communicate with me probably because he knew what he was doing was wrong. I am a very reasonable person, his lack of communication made it worse. I reached out to him after, no response. His neighbors were such nice people who were blown away with what we were being put through and even offered us hot water. He had cameras outside of his house to keep an eye on construction... but of course we would also be on camera. I had such high hopes and wanted to be a return renter. It was just awful. Wish I could post pictures. The management company was nice about it but could have refunded more than they did and I knew they had the power to do so but just wanted to be done with it all. Praying for a better vacation next year.

Best Beach Trip ever!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived and was happy it’s the house layout. It was however not as clean as it should have been. There was dog hair every where. We swept up dog hair all weekend. We paid for 4 nights couldn’t get in until after 4. Our sheet said arrival time to be 12pm. We essentially missed quite a few hours. The house was in a great location. It also had a pool. Was roomy enough for 7 of us. The rental company was accommodating and understanding when we told them about all of the dog hair. We had the best time ever. We made sure the house was definitely clean when we left.

Last Minute Stay July 2023

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For a last-minute booking it was pretty decent. Lots of beach chairs, umbrellas etc. to use. I will say it could have been a lot cleaner. The steps going upstairs were disgusting and needs replacing. The dryer also did not work. Looks like someone keeps rigging the starter knob and then it just falls off every time someone goes to use it. Location is great, especially if you hit the beach a lot or surf fish. The dirty bed sheets were left on the picnic table out front until mid-week, so that wasn't very appealing, but it could surely be worse.

Perfect for us

My cousin & I loved this beach house. It had everything we needed; close to the beach, fenced in yard for her little pug, sunroom, deck to watch the sunrise, back deck to watch the sunset, full kitchen. Loved it!!

Great location

Reviewer Comments: The house was very tastefully decorated and being across the street from the ocean was wonderful. The kitchen was too well stocked, there was absolutely no place to put your personal belongings in the cabinets. The cleanliness of the house when we arrived had A LOT to be desired! There were coffee grounds and gnats in the coffee maker, pubic hair left in the shower, beer caps all over the back deck, dried food in the stove & on the counters and the shower curtains had mold on them! The rental agency was contacted, a guy showed up, thanked me for the cleaning I had done, wiped down the counters, got the pubic hair out off the shower & left. The queen size bed had 4 mattress pads on it, not a mattress, so you slid to the middle or out! I can say, we left that house a heck of a lot cleaner than what we found it. Again, the house was “homie”, but the cleaning was inexcusable.

Nice get away close to everything

All and all a great house for the entire family. A few things like light bulbs and trash bags, etc. we needed to go out and get. To be expected. A short walk to the beach and plenty of deck space to enjoy. Fenced in back yard for your dog.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Home and location was perfect and as described. Just steps from the beach was super convenient and allowed for quick and easy return trips to and from the house. Nicely furnished. Fenced back yard was great for our dog and the garage was perfect for storing all our beach and fishing supplies. The kitchen was well stocked, however all cabinets were full leaving no place to store food or supplies brought from home. We had to keep those items in a plastic container. Home was generally clean, however there was some pet fur and dust bunnies that snuck out from under furniture. No issues with the home during our stay. Early check-in was "almost" accommodated with the cleaner finishing up within an hour of early check-in time. Renters are required to sweep and vacuum prior to departure. We would stay here again.
