Upon opening the front door of Hale Pali Kai and seeing the entire opposite wall of the great room wide open to the lanai, we knew we were in for a very special stay. Much of our time here was spent on the lanai, watching the changing shadows on the mountains across the valley, the cruise ships arriving and departing from the harbor, and the many surfers, snorkelers, and beachcombers below and around Kalapaki Bay.
This is pure luxury, from the upper loft bedroom with a superb pullout sofa and private bath, through the great room and kitchen, to the lower two master suites, each with a massive bathroom and private lanai. This home is designed for entertaining and comes alive in the evening when the sun goes down and the lights of the nearby resort come on. My friends and I spent most evenings chatting around the large granite-topped kitchen island or watching the sunsets from the lanai. The entertainment system is amazing, as are the flat screen TVs throughout the home.
Everything you'll want including a wide variety of music (including traditional Hawaiian) and current movies on DVD is here. The free WiFi allowed us to keep in touch with the outside world...but we mostly ignored it! We golfed, dived, and even took a helicopter tour of the island. Everything is close by and Hale Pali Kai is the perfect place for a Bear and his friends to get away from the outside world.

Why the Owner Chose Lihue
We actually bought this property in 2003 and built it from the ground up, finishing it in April of 2008! Everything is brand new and rather modern in design compared to many places in the area. I love this area because it offers such as wide variety of acivities while also giving you the opportuntiy to have a great deal of peace and quiet. Also, the loacation is central so that you can more easily explore the other sides of the island if you choose.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I love to go down to the beach (at the corner against the cliff in the grassy area) in the early morning and just be quiet, maybe stretch out or do a little exercise and then take a swim while the bay is very calm and uncrowded. There are great views of the the mountain over the Harbor which is made to be even prettier by the rising sun. A great way to start the day!
The location in general is fantastic as you can get to other parts of the island for day trips. The road does not go all the way around the island; is cut off in the North and West by the Na Pali Coast so to be centrally located saves you time for more experiences.

The condo was exactly as advertised, and was every bit as good as we'd hoped. The location was convenient to all of our activities, and the view from the top of the cliff is great. When we weren't enjoying the comfort & views of the condo, we spent a good amount of time at the Marriott resort using the fitness center, pool and beach. Nice place, and easy to get to. There are also a number of restaurants & shops within walking diatance. The condo is well furnished & equipped, and the three couples were very confortable during our stay. The owner provided all of the information needed to access & "use" the condo, and was easy to contact when we had questions. We'd certainly consider staying here again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great condo.

Just got home from a five day stay at this luxury home. As beautiful as the pictures are, they don't do the house justice - I loved it! All the furnishings in this home are top notch. It was hard to leave this home to do anything. I just wanted to sit on the lanai all day long! And it's just a short walk and elevator ride to the Marriot beach and amenities. I can't wait to stay here again!

Great place. Location Location Location Quiet enough to sleep with hugh bedroom doors open to the sound of the water. Do use the pool at the Marriot which is just far enough away to still be close. The pool there is great and kids can do the beach thing while you can have a Margarita at the bar. Bedrooms separate enough if kids are with you. Lots of room. Very Nice

We spent a full week at the Hali Pali Kai this past October and it was really amazing. Just a short walk from the beach at the Marriott, the location was perfect for a quiet week spent lounging at the pool or on the beaches. The view from the lani was breathtaking as well. The location is probably the best in Lihue, which makes it a really convenient spot if you want to get out and explore the rest of the island as well.

My family of 4 stayed in this most beautiful and well-appointed home in late August to early September 2010. Words are inadequate to describe how much our vacation was enriched by these accomodations. The very spacious home allowed us to spend time together and also allowed for personal space. Very importantly for us, the home was immaculate. The gourmet kitchen was also of great import for a family of cooks - there was not a single tool/appliance that was wanting. Being able to shop for fresh fruit and vegetables at the Sunshine Market added greatly to the culinary experience. To fall asleep at night with the sounds of waters of the beautiful Kalapaki Bay lapping right below our bedrooms was soothing and then to awake to see the sun glistening on the Bay, with surfers/swimmers aplenty, was simply glorious. The memories of this view remain vivid in our minds. We had many meals on the lanai outside the great room. What splendid times we had. The additional cost of the Marriott facilities were also well worth it. Steve was very lovely to do business with. He was most responsive to any questions or concerns we had. It was clear we were dealing with an honorable person. This made living in his home for the time we did, even more special.

This place is "The Bomb!" to put it in our teenagers' words! Not only did they feel that way, so did my husband and I. The location is perfect. Incredible views, close to activities and quiet when you want it to be. Having a true working kitchen and laundry room was a necessity for us and each area was up to our standards and beyond. Our kids are old enough to be independent and it was great that they could venture down to the Marriot beach and we could watch them surf from the balcony! We hosted friends for a gourmet dinner prepared by a local chef in the kitchen while we enjoyed the "show"! What an exceptional memory~

My friends and I stayed at Steve's property earlier this fall and were very pleased to see the website photos were exactly what we found when we entered the front door. The entire place is well furnished, modern, and extremely well kept. It's the perfect size for a family or group of friends and provides plenty of common and private spaces to suit your every mood. Steve was a breeze to work with and very accomodating. He ensured every detail of our stay was ready and was flexible as we finalized last-minute travel plans. This was our first time to Kauai and we picked the perfect place to stay. This condo is top notch in every way! The view from this condo is unbelievable! Everything is very modern and up to date. This is by far the best vacation rental we have ever stayed at. Plus, it was nice to have access to the marriott pool and fitness room which is within walking distance. Steve was very helpful with any questions and responded quickly. We will definitely recommend this to family and friends!
