Uzes apartment description
Bonjour et bienvenue à Uzes!
A woman said to me, many years ago : 'The first time I saw Uzes I cried. It was wonderful to see a village so beautiful and ancient yet so alive and vibrant'. Well it is still wonderful now and I look forward to helping you experience the magic of Uzes!
To enter your apartment you walk through a huge oak door off a classically French cobblestone, pedestrian street. As you walk up to the first level of this ancient, stone house you will know you have found your own 'home away from home' in the real France.
Your apartment welcomes you with the warmth of stone walls, beamed ceilings, elegant lighting and colors. You will find all the comforts of home with gas central heating, very well equipped kitchen and all the little touches that make a difference: guide books, UNLIMITED WIFI, PHONE WITH UNLIMITED CALLS TO FIXED LINES ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, CABLE TV, traveling book library, maps, ideas from previous guests and a market basket to ensure you are equiped from your very first day.
Being south facing the apartment has excellent natural light and at 46 square metres it is very comfortable for a couple and perhaps 1 child or other adult.
When you walk out of the front door, you are in the very heart of the 'old town'. You can spend hours exploring the maze of little winding streets and historic sites, you could take a picnic to the river valley or just soak up the atmosphere of this town that has been declared a national treasure. The famous market on Wednesdays and Saturdays is at the end of your street. Cafes, patisseries, boulangeries, restaurants, hairdressers, banks are all within a few metres of the front door. Yet the apartment is tranquil and relaxing.
There is free car parking (open air) or paid parking can be arranged at our private garage just a few minutes flat walk away. It is great if you can plan your arrival on a Friday, to be there to enjoy the famous Uzes Saturday market, to get your provisions for the week and to begin to meet and get to know the locals. However there is no set change over date for the apartment.
I want you to enjoy your stay so I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the region or the apartment. Having traveled to France a lot (and often with children!) believe me - there are no silly questions!
I look forward to helping you enjoy a trouble free, enchanting stay in Uzes.
J'espère parler avec vous bientôt!
BY THE WAY.....

- The apartment is one of only 3 in an historic, stone village pied a terre. The original features such as exposed stone walls and ceiling beams have been preserved and sensitively combined with modern fittings and features. It has new gas central heating as well as new plumbing and electricity (2007) so you can be assured of every comfort. The bathroom has a full-sized bath and the kitchen is very well equipped. It is perfect for a couple or maybe with another guest or child. The access is via an easy one level walk up, with the apartment being all on one level. If you are arriving by car you can park about 10 metres away, at the end of the street to unload your baggage. The secure, undercover car parking is then within a 5 minute flat walk. Teenagers and young adults also enjoy this position as they are right in 'centre ville' and can access the nearby internet cafe, cinema, cafes, wine bars and local music and drama performances that are regularly held in Uzes....moreless

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the apartment which was perfect for two people. Our son joined us for a few days and we still found the apartment comfortable. It was ideally situated in Uzes for the market, restaurants, and shopping. Monica was most helpful and very available if we needed any information about the area. Nicky, the owner of the apartment, was also available when we had questions. Our visit to this area was very memorable and we would definitely rent this apartment again.

This apartment is absolutely perfect. It is in the best position possible with Place Aux Herbes at the end of the street. It is beautifully decorated in French Provencial Style and there is everything you need there. A real added bonus is our dealings with the owner who was so easy to deal with providing us with all the information we needed. Finally, our dealings with the wonderful Monica could not be surpassed. would thoroughly rexommnd this apartment to any couple and would hope to be staying here again. A week was not long enough. Uzes is a wonderful place to stay.

Fantastic apartment in Uzes
Fantastic apartment in Uzes
My husband and I stayed here for nine nights and wish it had been longer. We would love to return and certainly recommend this apartment to others. Uzes is a beautiful town with an excellent market twice a week. The Saturday market is one of the best we have been to and sells everything. On Wednesday you can find all the fresh produce you could possile want. Uzes is in close proximity to many excellent day trips, for example Pont du Gard, Avignon and the Camargue. The apartment itself has been beautifully refurbished and had everything we could have wanted. The furnishings are good quality and the bed is comfortable. The apartment is light and airy and was very clean for our arrival. The wifi reception is reliable. We used the secure parking option, this was also excellent. The owner's local representative is charming and helpful. I suggest that you seriously consider a holiday in Uzes and that you stay in this apartment, my husband and I are both glad that we did.

Owner response: Thank you Sindi for submitting your review. It means so much to me that my guests are happy and that they find the home as I have described it - so important when you are travelling I know... Yes, our markets are FABULOUS aren't they!!! Many guests also say they are the best they have ever experienced. So that is good to know. I wish you safe travels and yes, we would love to welcome you back again when you next visit France. Monica would LOVE to see you again!! Best, Nicky
The Absolute Best!
The Absolute Best!
My husband and I rented the Ucetia apartment for the entire month of July. Our experience could not have been better! The apartment is located in the heart of the historic district. Not only is everything easily accessible, but we really felt a part of the village life in Uzes. The apartment is well equipped, with a sizeable living space, bedroom and a large bathroom compared to European standards. It also has a real French charm to it. The owner was extremely easy to work with, and there is also an apartment manager in Uzes who can assist with any issues that arise. Uzes itself is a great jumping off point for day trips. If you go during the summer, I recommend attending one of the local Fete Votives, which combine the local culture of the bull, with a local carnival. We could not have picked a better location for our time in France. I would definitely rent this property again, and would recommend it to couples or friends traveling together who want to really experience being in a French village.

Yes, summer is an amazing time in Uzes - feels like there is a unique music or cultural event happening down every little rue. Monica loved getting to know you both and was sad to see you go. We hope to welcome you back for another immersion into French life in the future. All the very best and safe travels. Nicky
Great apartment in Uzes France
Great apartment in Uzes France
Stayed over three weeks in Uzes and throughly enjoyed the experience. The apartment has a great location in the old part of town and near the markets. Uzes is a small town famous for its markets, the local people are warm and friendly. The apartment is comfortable with all the modern amendities. We used the location as a base to explore the surrounding countryside and town and there is plenty to see and visit, Highly recommended

It is such a pleasure seeing our guests soak up the French lifestyle and we really do try to do everything we can to ensure our guests are comfortable. Yes, the location and convenient transport are often commented on by our guests. We hope to welcome you back to wonderful Uzes again in the future! Warmest regards, Nicky
I am pleased to write a positive review for the lovely apartment in Usez. While the apartment is well equiped, comfortable, and modern (in a very old building), the outstanding thing about our trip was the proximity to the square where we idled away many hours over coffee or wine. Another great aspect that we did not realize before our trip was the wonderful hiking opportunities just outside of town. Finally, all of the arrangements were smooth, professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this rental.

Dear Nicky We just wanted to let you know that we have had the most wonderful week in Uzes. We can understand how you and your husband fell in love with this town. We love the apartment and it's location. Today was market day and the hordes of people and all of the stalls make this a lovely town. We had coffee this morning with Monica and what a lovely lady she is. You are lucky to have her looking after your place. We will pass one our love for Uzes to friends and others and hope one day to come back here. It has been extremely hot all week and your apartment has been just what we needed. Kind regards

COPIED OVER FROM HOMEAWAY SITE - ORIGINAL REVIEW CAN BE SEEN THERE. We stayed in Ucetia in Uzes in June 2011. We were met by the wonderful Monica who gave us great tips of what to do in the area and around town. Uzes was great. The apartment was well appointed - probably not suitable for 4 people but in a great location in the centre of town. Close to the Saturday markets, the butcher just outside the front door and a tea house across the road for a very short run for a baguette or pain au chocolate. I can highly recommend it as there is plenty of room. Nicole is also great to deal with and provides alot of information about Uzes and the general area.
