Vacation at the Marilla

The house was very large and had several different gathering spaces. The photos of the home did not do the home justice. It looks better in person. We had ten people stay and it was comfortable for all. We could have used an extra chair in the living room. There are views of the tidal basin out the front window and all you need to do is walk across the street and you can use the kayak that is provided with the home. The beach is a very short walk from the home and the beach is not crowded at all. There are a lot of things to do in Newburyport which is less than a five minute drive. There is a whale watch that departs from Newburyport. The downtown area has many shops. Our vacation was one of the best our family has taken and we will return in the future. This is a great vacation destination.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Our group of 8 adults and two toddlers recently stayed at Marilla for a week. The spacious layout is great for such a large group. The three levels of the home, each with its own sitting area, made it so we never felt cramped or on top of each other. The property is on a double lot with a lovely wild flower garden on one side and a view of the basin (and sunset) on the other side. The beach was about .25 miles from the house -- an easy walk back and forth. Overall, I would say the house exceeded our expectations and the owners were very responsive to our questions, etc. We would return.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.
