Great Family Home
Great Family Home
This is a great family home perfect for kids. The location of the home is good to enjoy everything - Shasta Dam, Lake Shasta and Whiskeytown. We had such a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Would visit and stay at this well maintained home again in the future. Thank you.

My friends family and mine met up to vacation together. There were four adults and three young children and this house had plenty of space for all of us. It was a beautiful, well-equipped house with a lovely yard. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and none of us wanted to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

This house was amazing. As we pulled up, I walked around to look at the beautiful back yard, and a small buck deer, that was lying under the tree jumped up to look at me. The back deck was great in the evenings. There was lots of privacy and the house was larger than it had appeared to be. The lake was close, and the location beautiful. The house was clean and comfortable. I will definately be coming back again. Thank you.

Clean and comfortable!
Clean and comfortable!
House was just as described. It was emmaculately clean and the personal decor and photos made it feel like you were staying in a family member's home. Everything needed was there but your clothes and food. Even had spices and sundary items in the kitchen. It was quiet and secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac. Well worth the expense.

Friends & Family Vacation
We have been enjoying annual trips to Lake Shasta for over 20 years. We have enjoyed houseboats and cabins depending on the group size and the time of year. This was our first adventure in renting a private home and WOW!!! What a nice treat! This home is clean and spacious and very enjoyable. All the amenities needed are right at your finger tips. The boat launch is very close by and the back yard is so relaxing and peaceful. We will be returning again in the future for sure! Thank You!!

A huge THANK YOU for an amazing stay in your house. We had the best holiday EVER and the house was way better than we could have hoped for, so thank you. Most holiday rentals we have been to always feel like a holiday rental but yours felt like a home. The pool table was a great addition for those rainy days and the 3 TV's meant that everyone was happy. The kitchen was equipped way better than our own and the beds have to be THE most comfortable we have ever slept in. So, we didn't want to come home!

Home away from Home!!
The house was perfect!!! Spacious, well kept, comfy beds and plenty of them. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking. We loved the pool table and being from Minnesota, sitting out on the deck was a treat even in December. Gorgeous views all around. We were visiting because of a family wedding in Redding. We loved the Redding-Lake Shasta area! Hopefully we can visit again someday. Thank you Laurie and Matt for a wonderful stay!

Magical space with room for a large, happy family!!
Magical space with room for a large, happy family!!
We got to stay here for just a few days and wish we could have had a few more people, and days, in which to enjoy the space. Deer seem to be as common as squirrels here, the view out the back is bucolic bliss and the beds, all 7 of them, were cozy. I would definitely recommend the place to just about anyone and I can't say enough good about owner Laurie who quickly and pleasantly answered all (about a dozen) questions we had.

About the owner: Matt & Laurie have 3 teenage boys & live in Southern Ca. We own our own business & enjoy our vacations at Lake Shasta ourselves throughout the year. Fishing is a BIG part of our family hertitage, passed down for several generations. Lake Shasta is the perfect place for all sorts of outdoor recreation. We never tire of the beautiful views or the peace & tranquility there.
Why the Owner Chose Shasta Lake:
This has been our 'home away from home' for many years. It belonged to our great-grandparents, our grandparents, and now us. Many family reunions and holidays have taken place here sharing lots of laughs & love. We couldn't bear not having this home to come back to, to continue the family traditions making memories for our own children. Our hope is for them to keep it going for years to come with their own families someday.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Only a 5 minute drive to Centimudi boat launch for easy access to the lake & TONS of parking for the SUV's, trailers etc. at the house It's your own FREE parking lot. We love how it feels driving through the quiet neighborhood to our private retreat backed up to the woods on 2 acres of property. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, yet it's only 10 minute drive into town for all your needs. Great place to get away from it all. We spend lots of time at the lake boating & fishing, & come back to the backyard to clean our catch & prepare fresh fish for dinner. Enjoying our morning coffee on the deck watching deer & quail roam through the yard is so theraputic. Hiking on the trails in the woods is always an adventure. Our boys safely disappear for hours enjoying nature exploring new discoveries. They catch frogs, play in the creek & come back with hilarious stories of what they did. I send them out with a large jar to pick ripe wild blackberries that grow all summer long that we put on ice cream for a special treat!!! It just feels like we've traveled back in time to a simpler way of life when we are here, but still have all the modern conveniences of the appliances, iPod alarm clocks & HDTV ;-) Even our favorite diner (Black Bear) & burger joint is old school. Shasta Burger, 5 minutes from the house is a hole in the wall place you might easily pass by, but DON'T. You won't be sorry. It really is a magical place. Our kids even get along better when we come here because they are so happy experiencing all there is to do here & the peace that comes over us all. There are lots of fun things to do in town as well. The Sundial bridge is a neat place & the Turtle Bay museum and the Shasta Caverns are a common draw for tourists. There are TONS of restaurants to visit if you want to avoid cooking completely. Water Works Water Slide Park is only a 10 minute drive that is GREAT for the whole family. So much fun!! There is a BMX track & a skate park nearby too.
