I'm gone for work extensively, so I welcome people; friends and others, to stay and enjoy my home. As it is occasionally lived in, some personal things are at the house, so the garage and master closet are not public, but the rest of the house is for your use.
Enjoy refreshing pine breezes on two porches and a flagstone patio - great relief from summer heat. Spend winters warmed by the woodstove. Cook for the bunch in a spacious kitchen, and eat at dining table for six plus counter space, or order out.
Walk/Bike through the friendly roads in Kachina Village and the local forest roads - head to Pumphouse Wash and hike locally or visit the San Francisco Peaks, Wupatki/Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon, Oak Creek Canyon and Sedona.
Dogs are allowed if pre-approved, and an extra charge and/or deposit may apply. Dogs are to be kept off the beds/furniture and out of the bedrooms - as a courtesy to those other guests who may have allergies.
Lots of other places to be outside. Lots of shops, restaurants, (Sushi) bars and attractions around town. Be sure to check out the Orpheum Theater - it's a great venue for live shows. And Karma Sushi on the main drag downtown is phenomenal!

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1988
I work in and around the west, and am not home much -- so I decided to share my place with others. I've loved that people are responding so positively to their visits at my place.
Why the Owner Chose Flagstaff
This was my first house I bought after living in Flagstaff for 10 years, then within a year, I moved for work and rented it out for several years through several tenants - what a pain, and I didn't get to spend time there unless I was fixing what the tenants did to it. So beginning in 2005 I re-habbed and furnished the house so that I and others can enjoy it, the guests aren't as hard on it as annual tenants, and I get to use it when I'm free.
The Unique Benefits of this House
What can I say. Flagstaff's weather is wonderful, and you're in the heart of the southwest; Grand Canyon, Sedona, skiing, hiking, bike riding...you name it.

Loved the home! It was very clean and fully stocked with everything we could ever possibly need. We loved the location of the home - very close to downtown Flagstaff, while being far enough away in a quiet and cozy neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again!
Owner response:Surrounded by 60 ft trees in a quiet & safe neighborhood, you're only minutes from town...head out to dinner and have a menu in your hand 20 minutes from the doorstep - parking and walking included.

We took our four dogs, my 91 year old mother and had my son stay with us. The house was well stocked had everything we needed and a great back yard for the dogs. The dining table was perfect for games and the bedrooms were great. Can't wait to come up in the summer and sit in the backyard and watch the stars at night. Wonderful experience.

We took a very last minute trip, to escape the long, hot Phoenix summer! Tim was very easy to work with, very accommodating and quick to respond. The house is even better than the photos depict. It is roomy and a good layout. He has included many conveniences that one would need for a stay there. He has a stocked pantry if one would need, spices, lots of pillows, sheets and towels. Plus shampoo, lotion, etc. He even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy (which we didn't end up drinking after all) :) We really enjoyed our short stay, and had 4 kids under the age of 5 plus a dog and 4 adults and felt like there was more than enough room. Lots of backyard space for the kids to run around, lots of dvds, plenty of room to dine together. Kachina Village is just 7 miles from Flagstaff, and it is a quiet area with lots of big, beautiful pine trees. Right off the freeway is a huge park with lots of swings and areas to play which was perfect for us. Thanks Tim!!
Owner response:I love last minute drop-ins like Shannon - she said her husband is a firefighter, so I gave them a good discount and let them stay until the afternoon as no one was coming in the next day. Raymond Park - which was just completely re-done last year - is just a short walk (or drive) down the hill and across the meadow. I'm glad to hear it was enjoyed. I'm changing to fall rates as of Sept. 15th: $125/weeknights and $175/weekends. It's a great time to come up and see the Aspens change and enjoy the fall in the high country for a great price.

We spent 4 nights in Flagstaff at Tim's house and it was absolutely fantastic! It was a great way to end our whirlwind tour of the west. Our family of 6 was very comfortable there and after staying in some very small rooms, we felt like we were staying in a mansion with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms! It was clean and quiet and we enjoyed everything about it. I loved that we could do laundry and cook there. It was close to Sedona and some other places that we wanted to visit. Tim was very welcoming and easy to work with. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone traveling through the area!!!

A simply beautiful experience. We could easily have stayed a loooong time. Thanks for all the amenities, Tim.
Owner response:As this review alludes, you don't need to bring anything but your personals and a desire to have fun and relax "back at home" when you finish your day of exploring. If you don't go out some days, you get to hang around the house relaxing on the patio, playing with your dog or throwing some horseshoes in the back yard and grilling on the Weber. You can sit on the covered front porch and watch the summer "Monsoons" -- gorgeous, powerful lightning-filled thunderstorms that come bringing much needed moisture in July and August. Come visit!

Outstanding stay at Tim's place

Our stay at Tim’s place this last Thanksgiving was outstanding, all the comforts of home in a very warm and relaxing living space. While the temperature hovered near zero outside, we stayed cozy with just a modest fire in the wood-burning stove. And the challenge of cooking T-day dinner was eased by the well-stocked kitchen and full compliment of modern appliances. The dogs appreciated the large fenced backyard but the snow and cold seriously diminished the draw of the horseshoe pits (next summer for sure). I have no hesitation in recommending Tim’s place to any and all who want to breath in some northern Arizona high-country.

Thanks so much Tim, we really enjoyed our stay in your home. It felt as though we were staying at a friend's or family members home as opposed to a sterile rental environment. Everything was very user friendly, from finding extra towels to paper products. As I said when we rented, this was to be our base for our family's "Genealogy Week" and it served us well. It was within easy driving distance for Phoenix and Williams, both of which we needed to visit on our search for ancestors. Also, the Cline Library at NAU was a valuable resource we didn't find out about until we were there and it's just 4 to 5 miles from your house! We would certainly recommend your home to anyone. Thanks again...Tari, Southern California
Owner response:It really makes me feel good to read these responses. I want everyone to feel at home, have everything they need - and more - for a pleasant stay, and feel like they've made a great choice staying here. Everyone has treated the place well, and I've never had any but good comments from the neighbors about my guests. That's VERY important to me. It's a great residential neighborhood - not party central - but gatherings of friends and family get-togethers for BBQ and other events are always welcome. Thank you for your kind words.

Stayed September 3rd to 6th . After a week in Vegas (not our scene). What a wonderful place to move on to. Very well maintained, stocked and clean. Our only dissapointment was we should have done a week here and a weekend in Vegas. Would thoroughly recommend to anybody wanting busy sight seeing days and peaceful nights. We found this property magical when we arrived after a long drive, it has the most soothing atmosphere thanks to all the lovely things the owner has and the beautiful trees surrounding the property. Our two boys aged 15 and 13 thought their bedrooms were charming. Everything you could need is supplied - even a bottle of wine! The owner has been very efficient and helpful in all dealings and we would not hesitate to stay again if we were in that area, it was also an excellent base for exploring the area.

This was a great place to stay! The comforts of home and plenty of room for the kids. Nice back yard with a patio table and grill (which we used!) Really the best things about Tim's house is that it is close to the airport in Flagstaff, about 1.5 (plus or minus) hours from the Grand Canyon and 30 minutes or so from Sedona. You can see alot of the area from this great location in Flagstaff.
