Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
I have traveled across the country for years. looking a place that has it all .Whitefish, Montana isn't the only place where you can ski, golf , hike and fish but it is one of the only ones I know that you can do it all in the same day. It is the endless vacation. The summer days are so long that I often joke that it is hard to go to bed when you have to wear sun glasses. I dreamed of one day moving back to Lake Tahoe but when I found Whitefish it was still unspolied like I remember Lake Tahoe being years ago. The deal breaker for me was Glacier National Park. The last completely intact ecosystem. I believe that being connected to nature is essential to being healthy and happy. Be careful when you come here you just might not leave..I didn't.
The Unique Benefits at this House
When you come to Montana you want to wake up feeling like you are in Montana. If Iyou want to wake up in a hotel room and eat at McDonalds you can do that any where. I wanted you to wake up and look out upon the fir trees and pines from your real log lodge. If you look you can see Deer, moose and horses. The wild turkeys sometimes will wake you up with their morning stroll. At night, the howls of coyotes in the distance will sing you to sleep. You are close to everything. One of my goals was that you spend as little time in a car as possible. Most of the area attractions are 10-15 minutes at the most ,in your car. Glacier park is 30 minutes. To me it is the perfect place. Food shopping and getting all that may be necessary is only minutes away. I even have a chef that will prepare meals and leave them in the fridge so that all you have to do is play and relax. You can stroll the grounds in the evening and sit out by the firepit making smores feeling like you are in a commercial for the perfect vacation. You don't have to miss a single comfort of home. There is WiFi through out and plenty of space for your furry child (dog) to enjoy the vacation as much as you do.

Christmas in Whitefish

Our family had a awesome Christmas spent in this beautiful cabin. The cabin was very clean and well kept. The decor made it feel just like home. There was plenty of room to cook a big Christmas dinner for us and extra company. It also had a large amount of space for the younger kids to entertain themselves and room for the adults to hang out by the fire or play cards on the large dining table. The hot tub was well used by all of us staying there We had 16 of us staying at the cabin and there were beds for all of us. It was in the perfect location for what we wanted to do. Lu Ann did a wonderful job of answering all our questions before our arrival, we were also well taken care of while there. They brought us extra wood, propane for the bbq and had the walks cleared and salted for our arrival. We could easily access the ski hill as well as downtown Whitefish. Our family would definitely stay here again!

Our family reunion in August could not have been in a better location. The house is beautiful, nicely decorated and well equipped for large gatherings. We enjoyed the porches, hot tub and gorgeous kitchen. LuAnn was fantastic to work with and she went out of her way to make sure our needs were taken care during our stay. We would highly recommend this home. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

This property is fantastic, from the chalet to the scenery. Our family (13 of us) is from 3 to 70 and everyone found things to do. We hot tubbed, tobogganed, played WII, games etc. The ski hill was close and we registered at the Wave. LuAnn and Steve were wonderful, gathering fire wood for us and just helped whenever they could. The chalet was spotless and had so many extras that we couldn't believe it. Plenty of room for everyone. We would recommend it to anyone, and hope to use it again if possible.

This was an absolutely beautiful home that far exceeded out expectations. Everything we could possibly need or want was there. The house was spotless and had every convenience you could desire. There is such a wonderful sense of peace and quiet even though we were not far from Whitefish and Kalispell. Our family had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on Christmas and we will never forget it. With our oldest grandchildren getting ready to leave the nest, I thought that this might be the last chance to have us all together. All eleven members of our family had as much room as they needed. The house is perfect for family gatherings. Our youngest grandson, who is 10, was very sad the night before we left because he didn't want to leave. Montana is where he and his father spend a lot of their time together in summer. They are both avid fly fishermen and our son is a teacher so he is able to spend part of the summer taking his son fishing. Our grandson has decided if he can't move there at this time that perhaps he will go to college there. LuAnn was a gracious hostess who made us feel welcome and comfortable.

This is a beautiful timber framed log home. We had a great time! The property is only about a year old. Everything is nice and new! Steve and LuAnn were terrific hosts and worked hard to get us checked in a little bit early when one of us wasn't feeling well. The house has two kitchens and is well stocked. There is a nice hot tub and a large Weber gas grill. We ate most of our meals at the house which worked great. If we have a group together like this again in Whitefish, we'll definitely rent here!

We have been travelling to Whitefish for golf vacations off and on for the past 30 years and we thought we would kick it up a notch try to obtain a nice single dwelling big enough to accommodate our group of two foursomes, (we are usually between 8 to 11). This Walking Bear Resort was fantastic. Large and very nice house, everything in the house is upgraded and it includes all the ameneties that we could hope for. We found the home spotless and immaculate, and the setting is totally private, at the end of a long drive in the woods. We have to come back here, it was ideal.

We just spent four nights at the Black Bear Lodge We had the whole home and we had 12 in our group. This cabin was beyond our expectations, simply beautiful. We had ample room and would easily have taken 4 more to fill the beds and many more could be accomodated if you brought mattresses for the floor; there is plenty of room for that! This was our first experience booking with VRBO and it went very well. The cabin was well equipped and we appreciated the extras, we even made ice cream!!! Check for a recipe and take your supplies along!! The location was also very good. Short drive to the hill and to Kalispell as well. We enjoyed the secluded area. Thanks so much!!!!!
