This is someplace very special! Located close to Glacier National Park, near Big Mountain Ski Resort, not far from the beautiful Whitefish Lake, and 3 miles from the scenic-mountain downtown of Whitefish, Montana. This is your perfect vacation spot! This is a brand new beautiful custom-built Rocky Mountain log and timber vacation home.
Full-Length Porch
The home’s full-length porch is stretches across the front of the home. This porch just begs you to sit on the custom-made porch furniture, enjoy the beautiful landscaping, play a game on the hand-painted checkerboards.
Gourmet Kitchen (main floor)
This amazing Log home boasts two full Kitchen, complete with shiny new stainless-steel appliances and finished with striking granite counter tops.
The fully–stocked kitchen boasts Cuisinart cookware, professional grade knives, Kitchen Aid food processor, and every tool that will enable you to prepare a top-rate meal.
You might want to try using the ice cream or popcorn maker. Your kitchen comes complete with a large coffee maker, an espresso/cappuccino machine, and a coffee grinder to grind your fresh and locally roasted Montana Coffee Traders Coffee.
You can grill your food to perfection on the outdoor gourmet GRILL. Enjoy your meals alfresco, on the huge front porch, the screened dining room porch, or the outside patio next to the HOT TUB.
Great Room
After the perfect day you and your guests can nestle next to the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling rock fireplace in the great room with its beautiful soaring timber-frame ceiling. The flat screen TV is equipped with a full satellite package so you won’t miss your favorite shows or the big game while on vacation.
Master Suite
The master bedroom suite has all you would expect (and more) from a house as magnificent as this: a fireplace, a soaking tub and a shower built for two may be the perfect touch to end your fun-filled day. Unwind on the private deck off of the bedroom before you sink into the luxurious KING-SIZED BED bed complete with luxurious sheets and bedding that will let you sleep as if you were on a cloud.

THE LOWER LEVEL
The lower level is fully self-contained and can be rented separately or in addition to the upper level. It has a living room, two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, and its own fully stocked kitchen with new stainless-steel appliances, dishwasher and microwave.
Living Room
Your living room in the lower level has a beautiful fireplace and flat screen TV. There is a pull-out QUEEN-SIZED sofa bed for extra sleeping accommodations.
Master Bedroom
Your lower level Master bedroom suite has a private bathroom, a KING-SIZED BED with luxurious linens and custom hand-made furniture. You will be able to watch TV in your room with its own 27” flat screen TV.

This property exceeded our expectations as far as how comfortable and roomy it was. The kitchen was large enough for several cooks at once and the dining room table is also large enough to accomodate everyone (although it could use a few more chairs). The bathrooms were very spacious and there were plenty of them for the number of people. We took full advantage of the hottub and BBQ. We stayed during the off season and therefore it was really quiet in the area surrounding the house. Location is close to Whitefish, about a $20 cab ride into town. Plenty of parking outside the home as well.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is my second time at this cabin and I can’t say enough positive things about it. It has a great open lay out, large kitchen, well stocked, amazing hot tub, plenty of bedrooms with great linens, lots of bathrooms and overall a perfect for our weekend gateway with friends and our children. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here, we can’t wait to come back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The home itself was amazing, beautiful, clean, peaceful and dealing with you as an owner was extreamly easy, and accomodating! We has such an awesome time in Montana, great food, great skiing and awesome accommodations. It was easy to access to and from Big Mountain and had everything we needed and more. We literally just got back from this lodge and like the title says. it was beyond our expectations. The pictures look amazing but they do not show off the magnitude of this place. When we arrived at the lodge and walked in we knew immediately this was going to be an epic weekend(the 9" of snow overnight helped too lo) The open concept with the massive vaulted ceilings in the family room did not give any of the 9 guys we were with a cramped feeling at all. The kitchen is massive with high end appliances which made cooking fun and easy. Theres 11 actual beds and 5 extremely over sized washrooms which helps with big groups. We rented out the entire lodge and the only time we used the lower unit was to sleep in even though theres another kitchen and family room down there. The owners are also really helpful with any questions we had, we ran out of wood the first night and the next day we got back to a huge pile of chopped up wood waiting for us. The location is another big bonus because you are very secluded on a huge piece of land and you are a 10 minute drive to kalispell(biggest city/town in vicinity) or a 5 minute drive to whitefish. We do a guys trip once a year and everyone agreed that this place will be annual!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Grizzly Bear Lodge. It was a perfect location to the ski hill but equally as convenient for shopping as well. The house was so beautiful and we had ample room for two families. The property was clean and well equipped. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would consider renting it again in the future.Recommended for: Families with teenagers.

We rented the Walking Bear Lodge for a long weekend ski trip. The lodge is perfect for a large group of friends (like us) or for any other group looking for great accomodations with access to the spectacular beauty of Western Montana. The lodge is well designed, well built and well maintained. The amenities including fireplaces, hot tub, kitchens, and sleeping accomodations were as promised and exceeded our expectations. The proprietors were friendly and went beyond the norm in providing assistance, flexibility and hospitality. I am looking forward to returning in the future both for ski trips and for a summer retreat with extended family. This is definitely someplace you want to stay and stay as long as you can.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners.

This was an excellent location for our Mother's Birthday Celebration. We had 19 ladies (daughters, grand-daughters and great-granddaughters, 2 that were babies). Lot's of bedding, lot's of room for everyone. 5 full bathrooms was essential for all us girls!!! The location was central to Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls. Perfect for the shopping trips to Kalipsell and our Spa day in Whtiefish. The large kitchen, on the main floor, was equipped with everything we needed for meals. We also used the catering service of John's Angels Catering and it was excellent!! An amazing Turkey Dinner with plenty of food for all! I would reccommend the Walking Bear Resort for large family gatherings or for an event such as ours. A great property in a remote peaceful setting. Driving distance to all activities. Owners were friendly and helped to fix problems the best they could when they came up. It is still a beautiful time of year and the setting is private and peaceful enough to have some outside meetings but easy enough to get into town to Costco, food stores, restaurants, golf courses, walking trails and zip lines. Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
I have traveled across the country for years. looking a place that has it all .Whitefish, Montana isn't the only place where you can ski, golf , hike and fish but it is one of the only ones I know that you can do it all in the same day. It is the endless vacation. The summer days are so long that I often joke that it is hard to go to bed when you have to wear sun glasses. I dreamed of one day moving back to Lake Tahoe but when I found Whitefish it was still unspolied like I remember Lake Tahoe being years ago. The deal breaker for me was Glacier National Park. The last completely intact ecosystem. I believe that being connected to nature is essential to being healthy and happy. Be careful when you come here you just might not leave..I didn't.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
When you come to Montana you want to wake up feeling like you are in Montana. If Iyou want to wake up in a hotel room and eat at McDonalds you can do that any where. I wanted you to wake up and look out upon the fir trees and pines from your real log lodge. If you look you can see Deer, moose and horses. The wild turkeys sometimes will wake you up with their morning stroll. At night, the howls of coyotes in the distance will sing you to sleep. You are close to everything. One of my goals was that you spend as little time in a car as possible. Most of the area attractions are 10-15 minutes at the most ,in your car. Glacier park is 30 minutes. To me it is the perfect place. Food shopping and getting all that may be necessary is only minutes away. I even have a chef that will prepare meals and leave them in the fridge so that all you have to do is play and relax. You can stroll the grounds in the evening and sit out by the firepit making smores feeling like you are in a commercial for the perfect vacation. You don't have to miss a single comfort of home. There is WiFi through out and plenty of space for your furry child (dog) to enjoy the vacation as much as you do.
