We had a great trip and really enjoyed being able to fit everyone in one house and spend time together. We enjoyed the pool table and games as we spent our evenings enjoying family time. The kitchen was well appointed, and overall, we had a good stay.A few things could be improved. The lighting system was by far our biggest frustration. Having to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to turn the lights on and off for each room was cumbersome. There were also no closets to hang clothes, which was very inconvenient. The dining area didn’t quite fit as many people as advertised, so a few of us ended up standing in the kitchen during meals. The layout was a little confusing, too, and it took us a while to find the door connecting the other part of the house. A note in the check-in instructions would have been helpful. It is also awkward that the only way to access the other area is either through the master or outside. The host was very responsive overall, and we appreciated having a place where everyone could stay together. With a few small improvements, this could be an even better experience!

Thank you so much for taking time to leave this thoughtful review and for being our guests this fall at The Grand Alpine Lodge. We appreciate your feedback and are already working on solutions that you suggest such as hanging space for rooms without closets and updates to our online instructions. The lighting in this unique log cabin is something we try to make easier for our guests and will continue to explore convenient instruction. We're glad to hear that our home fit your large group and hope to have the opportunity to host you all again!

Amazing place for out Montana trip

Amazing property, perfect for a big family holiday, near enough to Glacier National Park. House was perfect, great to have the hot tub and pool table. Lighting system was the only complaint, so difficult to work out how to switch lights on and off.

Best Week EVER

We absolutely loved our week at the Grand Alpine Lodge. The house was perfect for our big family. Plenty of room to spread out and really intentional spaces to come together for meals, games and just relaxing. It was clean and there were plenty of towels, snuggly blankets. We saw deer every morning out the dining room windows and my grandkids thought that was the best!

Grand Alpine Lodge

Customer service from rental property was 5 star. And cabin was beautiful and clean. However, we were there for a week and had nowhere to put our clothes and unable to enjoy the cute little apartment fireplace area because we had to keep our clothes out there. That is a problem easily solved with a dresser- even if it’s in the living room.

Large family Montana fun

The house is lovely and there is plenty of parking. The floor plan is a little difficult to navigate as the master bedroom is a throughway to the back half of the house. We also had some hot water issues with our large group. The Vacay people were responsive to answer our questions.

Long weekend ski trip

This house was perfect for a large group. We traveled with 13 people. More than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. Location was great and the house was fully stocked. The only complaint is the lighting in the house. You need a college degree to figure them out. We asked for a late check out and they accommodated us with no issue. Will def stay here again.

Great spot for family

We needed a place to stay short notice that could fit our whole family. This house was perfect. It was clean and beautiful. Only down side was, it's Agust and was in the 90s almost our whole stay and we could not get the house to cool down. Theres no central air, which is to be expected with a winter ski home, so it was very warm inside. I recommend bringing more fans and maybe an ac unit if you are staying in the summer.

Great property. Little quirky layout.

Overall the property was really good. The property management was immediately on top of a few issues we had and fixed immediately. The unit appears to have been 2 duplexes combined. The main issue is you have to pass through the master bedroom, master bathroom and another bedroom to access half of the space making them zero privacy areas and really stinks for whoever is in there. In the end there are only really 4 private bedrooms as 5 is a loft and 6/7 you have to pass through as hallways.

Thank you so much for being our guest at The Grand Alpine Lodge and for this great 5 star review! The layout is complex and we appreciate your feedback on it. Unfortunately, in the winter, the access to the many areas of the home are limited due to snow and weather. We're working to free those up so privacy in those middle rooms is easier. We hope you have an opportunity to visit the Whitefish area again sometime soon and that you visit us at The Grand Alpine Lodge when you do!

perfect home for 8 buddies from college class of 1979 enjoying a return trip to Big Mountain

The Grand Alpine Lodge lives up to its name. Best equipped and comfortable house we've had in 30 years of ski trips. Comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen with all the plates, flatware and glasses needed for our group. Grand living room with fireplace, dining area adjoining kitchen --and dining room had table that seated all eight of us with room to spare. We loved the hot tub. (Did not have a chance to try the jacuzzi tubs inside). Excellent wifi. Only hitch was fancy interior lighting control system. Vacay Whitefish helped us get over that hump and answered several questions about it very promptly. First class service from the property manager. Highly recommended.

family gathering

lots of fun. would be great if you had a floor plan so we could plan our sleeping arrangements in advance. If this is where you want feedback: Ice makers in small kitchen and downstairs didn't work Mini fridge downstairs frozen shut Hot tub was 106 degrees always, no matter the setting Refer door would only close with hard push Dish washer arm was totally clogged; we cleaned it. Dangerous railing on balcony NEEDS FIXING IMMEDIATELY!
