Why the Owner Chose Nashville
This property is an old family farm thats been in my husband's (Nate) family for over 4 generations. We moved onto the land 14 years ago and began the work of clearing the brush and creating our first rental, we call it, "The Magnolia Cottage." In 2004 we designed and built Uncle Pete's Cabin. The log portion of this cabin was actually built by Nate's Uncle Pete many years ago. Last year (2008) we added our 3rd accommodation, "The Calico Cottage." The Calico is mostly a studio (efficiency) rental that works great as a second bedroom/bath for two couples traveling together who want completely private sleeping quarters that are nearby. Many people like to rent the Calico as their private little rental on it's own. We have all three of our rentals listed here, be sure to check them out!

At Rockhaven, you will have total privacy, your own parking area, front porches and rocking chairs, swings and outside gas grills on a deck with seating for two. You'll also experience the tranquility of a beautiful pond with a fountain and sitting areas, you'll be only 6 miles from Long Hunter State Park, Percy Priest Lake and just 2 minutes from Pine Creek Golf Course. You will be out and away from the noisy city but only 5 minutes from the Interstate (I-40) and another 15 minutes to downtown Nashville or The Grand Ole Opry. At the Interstate exit, which is only 4.5 miles from the property, you'll have the convenience of a large new shopping mall with great casual dining restaurants like the Olive Garden, O'Charley's, Logans Roadhouse, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday's, Cracker Barrel, Red Robin and several fast food eateries.

Nate and I live on his 4th generation family farm in the growing city of Mt. Juliet, TN...only a 20 minute drive from downtown Nashville. We created Uncle Pete's Cabin in 2004, the log structure was originally built by Nate's Uncle Pete and dates back to the Civil War era. My background is in the country music industry, CBS Recording Studio and TNN (The Nashville Network) television production. I've also done quite a bit of interior decorating, as well as, kitchen and bath design. Together, we created our place we call Rockhaven. I designed and Nate built the rentals we call The Magnolia Cottage, Uncle Pete's Cabin and The Calico Cottage. What a perfectly blissful place to spend a honeymoon! We arrived around 8:30 PM after our spectacular wedding and simply did not want to leave! It was such a blessing to find such a special place. You two have created a safe, comfortable haven where one can relax and renew. I cannot think of a better way to start our life together than here in Uncle Pete's Cabin looking our over the peaceful pasture and listening to the fountain and birds. Our guests are from all over the world, as far away as Australia and as close as two blocks away. We have met so many wonderful people over the years, many of them repeat customers who stay year after year and who also send friends and family members. We encourage you to come stay sometime and experience the tranquility of Rockhaven. The amenities are above and beyond what you find in an "average" vacation rental. The grounds here are meticulously manicured, with beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. There's a big round pond with a fountain,visable as you come up the drive, and a smaller pond with a waterfall, that's full of friendly comets (large goldfish) near the Magnolia Cottage. Overall, this place is a peaceful, relaxing getaway that soothes your stresses and delights your senses. Only a 25 minute drive to downtown Nashville, and 6 miles from great shops and restaurants, between two lakes; Percy Priest and Old Hickory, and two state parks; Long Hunter and Cedars of Lebanon.
